Dyson Tower Fan AM02

Our experience with Dyson is shocking and distressing to say the least – My partner bought a Dyson Tower Fan AM02 and paid circa $800 for this unit. A transistor shorted on the main power board and upon contact with an Online Expert requesting a spare part - we were told in simple terms, that the product is virtually a consumable item and couldn't be repaired. Then they proceeded to offer a 25% discount on a purchase of another Dyson product.........are they joking!!!!! Show details

High Pitch Noise – High Pitch Noise in high speed. Contacted Dyson Service and they asked for $170+ for a part. $170 is enough to buy new fans!! Don't pay premium for their inferior products and services. Show details

Is it extortion? – Bought AM02 and each autumn cleaned and packed it away. The rubber engine seal perished and when I made inquiries was told they were out of stock, more were coming & I would be contacted. Also told that I could send it in for service @ $85 + parts. was the only way it could be repaired. For what would be less than 50 cents of rubber seal this seems extortionate.

Disappointed with fans – Just purchased 2 fans nearly $1100 aud - 1 Pedestal & 1 Tower - disappointed with quietness, and effective cooling of air. Would have the same result from spending less than quarter of the price on stand alone fans which made the same amount of noise. impressed and disappointed in these 2 products. Tick for easy to clean, and sleek design, & remote useful function - dissappointed in quietness & coolness of these products which are the most important factors. Regretting these purchases.

F2 flashing and will not work right after warranty period! – This fan was great until one month after the warranty! For this expensive price I cannot believe it did not last! Save your money. Not worth it. Customer service is very bad and the fan is now useless after moderate use.  Show details

Great when it actually worked – When this fan works it's wonderful. Powerful, quiet, efficient. Unfortunately after 2 years (magically JUST outside its warranty period from our supplier) it starts blinking a blue light and won't turn on. Spend $500 on this fan so this isn't an acceptable outcome. Save your money, don't buy this fan. Or at least get a long warranty!

Stylish and practical! – Great fan, love the remote option, very stylish and easy to operate. I would buy again if the need requires. Negative - no heat option and pricey.  Show reply

hardly any difference to the heat in the room. sorry. look and colour very modern and appealing didnt cool the room noticeably/hardly at all.

Expensive but it works – I bought one of these from David Jones after I was given a $200 voucher for Christmas and it was $100 off the RRP - meaning I only had to shell out $299 for one (a $500+ fan is a bit excessive for me even if I can afford it). speed settings, and it blows a huge volume of air.

It's not silent on the top settings, but that's to be expected, but it's not a noisy beast either - about the same sound level as a traditional fan on top speed when the dyson is going full bore. But it is moving a lot more air than a traditional fan.

I live in an apartment and have a high velocity 50cm fan as well as the dyson - truly, the dyson is putting out about the same or more air than the high velocity fan and I can actually hear the tv when it's going (the high velocity fan is like an aeroplane starting up in noise level).

I am a convert and am happy with my new dyson fan but if you had kids or pets or if you're someone who is simply rough with things, I think you'd find the dyson would let you down as although it's made well, it isn't made to cop abuse. Volume of air moving, ease of use Price but hey, you get what pay for.

Worth the money – Yes, it's expensive but I think it's worth it. It is so compact, easy, quiet, safe and stylish. We use it as our bedroom fan and it is very peaceful when sleeping. The various speeds and oscillating options are convenient. It is a good alternative to an air-conditioner and much cheaper to run. Does what it says on the box – Yes this was an expensive purchase, but after years of using various traditional fans, the Air Multiplier is awesome. It is reasonably quiet and works well - picks up very little dust which is so easy to wipe, and the bladeless function is safe for little fingers. thing I would like is for it to tilt upwards so it can reach my face when seated at a desk, but the new models seems to have this incorporated now. A great innovation! Quiet, reliable, easy to clean and picks up very little dust, bladeless/safe
