would not buy a dyson again – My vacuum is about 3 to 4 years old. Been having trouble for 2 years. Use on carpet as well lino. Fully charged, lasts no longer than 5 mins. If you pull vacuum backwards the brush stops turning, have to move charging cord around until green light comes on for charging. I am a age pensioner, thought Dyson had a good name and stick vacuum was light and easy to use. I would not recommend it. Could have bought something better for the money Show details

Useless – Sucks now it seems as tho the warranty ran out and so did it’s life! I can’t even use it continuously without it stopping even with my finger on the button! Only used on hard floors and rug, Dysons are meant to be the ferraris of vacuum cleaners, even my Hoover cordless works better and I only stopped using it because I fell in love with a friends dyson and she convinced me to buy one! Show details

Expensive throw away plastic – Purchased Dc35 May 2015 and was very happy with it, before warrranty was out it needed a new motor which was replaced. Contacted again November 2017 when the brush in the cleaning head kept stopping an was told it needed another part at cost to me as it was out of warranty, decided to think about it and started to use my old Hoover upright again… Read more

only using the Dyson for cleaning the car and hand cleaning edges etc. Phoned this week again to be told it was obsolete but they still had cleaning heads in stock $129. It appears all parts are throw away(landfill) and non repairable. I’m not at all happy with Dyson and would never buy another one. Might add I’m in my early70’s and my Hoover upright which belonged to my mum is still working and is still repairable at a fraction of the cost of any Dyson parts.

DC35 died just after the warranty expired !!!! – I liked the appliance but it died just as the warranty expired - Re DC35 01 26782A SR CD3-UK-CCB5453A I bought a CORDLESS DC35 in 2015 – 2.5 years later and short while out of warranty it has stopped working. Dyson should be well known for their reliability – I've always been very happy with the customer service at dyson. One of the best I have dealt with for a big brand. Our journey with Dyson started with the V8 model so our first impression of the brand was flawless. We since then purchased 3 other older generation dysons for giveaway presents after cleaning them out thoroughly, noting the… Read more

continued reliability and innovative design. Theres something special about undoing all the parts and seeing the magic of Dyson inside. Now when we goto see our family they have always just vaccumed before our baby starts crawling everywhere because they don't have to plug it in.

We picked up this model for a bargain at $90 with all of the attachments.

The battery still worked fine, 1200mah high drain sony 18650 cells. Didn't seem to run too long on max originally but after purchasing a $40 aftermarket battery(2000mah) it goes and goes and goes even on max. We also got an aftermarket filter for less than $10. The motorised tools work quite well. You eventually figure out that you shouldn't be vacuuming bread ties.... I like the v6 slim we have better than this model and price wise with a new battery the v6 slim is the better option at the moment its easier to maintain as well. It was a bit tricky to unwind all of the hair and string off the dc35 motorised tools and has since been reenginered to perfection.

Another great feature of this model is the interchangeable batteries, no screws to undo to change the battery. Ps just a tip for people cleaning theirs out, if youre going to use soap, you may need to use antistatic wipes to minimise the dust sticking to things. You can make a home made antistatic solution out of toxic fabric softener but we decided to choose use an expensive witch hazel exctract solution for our electronics (found in the beauty isle).

Expensive and disappointing – After 5 years of light use this Dyson appears to have died. Fully charged the battery would last 15 minutes at most, now nothing, no green light on charger. Have done everything suggested in manual, container regularly emptied, filter cleaned, properly reinstalled. Tried charging for extended periods and shorter periods, fully discharging at each use. I thought I was buying quality small vacuum cleaner for lightweight use. Very disappointed.  Show details

Very Disappointed – The DC35 Multi Floor is very good for about 2 minutes then it cuts out and you have to use short bursts on the trigger. It is good for small jobs when I don't want to get the big vacuum cleaner out - but it is just to unreliable for larger jobs like doing the whole house. Frustrating to use and not fit for purpose – My wife purchased this vacuum cleaner a few years ago and it has rarely worked as expected. Constantly cuts out, which is very frustrating when using. The unit has been back to Dyson three times now and although Dyson has really tried very hard to solve the issue, they haven't been at all successful. Apparently the contacts of the battery need to… Read more

be cleaned every so often, however even with cleaning the contacts the unit still keeps on cutting out after 10-20 seconds. In my opinion this vacuum cleaner has a serious design problem that even Dyson cannot fix. And reading the other reviews we are not alone. Come on Dyson, if you cannot fix these units please provide an alternate solution. These units were expensive and should be trouble free and work as advertised.

Rotating brush has to be replaced frequently – Bought this from Target when I first moved to college as I heard Dyson was the best for vacuum cleaners. I use a wheelchair so I decided to go for a portable model that would be easy to carry and manuver. it was expensive but I thought it would be a worthwhile investment. I'm a firm believer of spending a little more for something that would last… Read more

through your the years.

I only use the vacuum for the bedroom which is carpeted. My carpeted section is 3m x 3m and it's sisal carpet. I'm a very clean person and never eat or track dirt into the room (I have a separate wheelchair for my room and it's not used outside). My main concern is just getting dust out of the carpet. I vacuum once a fortnight for about 10 minutes and clean the brush and empty the dust collector after every use.

When it works, it works incredibly well. However over the last three years I've had to replace the head of the vacuum cleaner every year. One year I even had it replaced twice.

The reason is because the brush stops rotating. The suction, motor, everything works. But the brush doesn't spin making it quite useless on the carpet. When I first brought it in for repair thinking something must have broke I was told they couldn't understand why it wouldn't spin because everything should be working. They couldn't even replace just individual parts because theoretically everything was fine. They had to replace the entire head every time and I now have a small collection of useless brushes. Thanks, Dyson.

Finally I decided I couldn't just go having it replaced every year, it just negates the purpose of such an expensive purchase in the first place. So I placed it in storage where it is now collecting dust (excuse the pun) and got myself a new cordless vacuum. Not as cool but at less than half the price of Dyson DC35 it gets the job done.

Very unreliable – I've had this vacuum for several years. After 6 months it didn't turn on at all, and it got repaired under warranty. Now after that it intermittently didn't want to vacuum for more than 20-30 seconds at a time. Very frustrating! Now it's out of warranty and of course it's stopped working completely. Flawed Design – Yet another customer whose vacuum cuts out intermittently and no longer works. Along with the thousands of others I am now left with an unfit for purpose paper weight. and has no problems whatsoever, but since common sense does not come in to play when the support team use the diagnostic cheat sheet, they stick to their guns and tell me the battery is at fault and want me to invest £60 more into the machine.

Here's the rub... This is not by any means a cheap product. I like most people saved up long and hard and went out of my way to support a British company, when I could have bought from many other places cheaper, But i chose to support Dyson at an extra expense to myself.

Dyson knows about the problem that thousands of us seem to be suffering with this unit. But don't take my word for it You only need to read some of these reviews here which are hardly glowing, or elsewhere on the internet. but they choose refuse to support me as a customer for this/their 'design mistake'.

Funny thing is, it would be cheaper in the long run for them to have admitted there is a problem with this model and rectified it for me, there should have been a product recall as far as I am concerned. Had they have rectified it for me It would have reinstated my faith in the brand and I would have purchased another model and further Dyson products in the future, was actually considering the hairdryer prior to this. Now they have lost any further customer retention from me, (I won't be spending another penny with them) and encouraged me to write this review, which will no doubt influence many potential future customers also hopefully avoid being dealt with in the same manner.

Very Disappointed – We just got the stick Dyson DC35 today. We already knew that it was a small vacuum cleaner which we were fine with, but definitely not fine with the fact that it is not nearly as good at picking up stuff off hardwood, tile, or carpet in particular. few years that will pick up your pet if you're not careful, and that is very light weight and cordless. Since the battery was finally getting close to giving up I thought I would replace it before it did. I decided since the Dyson is supposed to have a great name that I would buy a product that would cost exactly the same as if I purchased another Hoover. BIG mistake! I should have stuck with what I knew! This thing will not do the whole house or even one room, will not pick up dog and cat hair off of the throw rugs without going back and forth many times and then it just kind of balls up. So I ran over the same spot with the Hoover and boom! Done! I can't believe Dyson charges such a rich price for something that is barely adequate as a vacuum. I just tried it on our wooden stairs and it's very light and handy for that but that's the only use I can see in its future. That's a pretty high price to pay for a stair cleaner! I'm honestly disgusted at the fact that I feel really ripped off here.

Gimmick. Large price for big disappointment – The vacuum is very temperamental. It's a fancified design, but in my opinion- junk. All of sudden I hear a crack and then 2 minutes later motor stops working. It also gave off unpleasant smell. Again, I think it is just fancy plastic junk. I am going to the store today and will toss this piece of junk in the dumpster.  Show details

Continuous issues with motor cutting out – My DC35 stick vacuum had to go back in the first 6 months because the motor kept cutting out during use - you had to continually let go of the trigger to allow it to reset itself before it would start working again. Dyson fix it but it started doing it again about 18 months ago and the battery started dying/not holding charge about 12 months ago. I wasn't expecting to have the issues I have had given the amount we paid.  Show details

Great when they're working – I have two of this model and 5 other hand held vacuums, and I've given several as wedding gifts. I am finally fed up with the very poor longevity of these Dyson products. expensive replacement part. This is not good enough for what is touted to be a quality product that is far more expensive to buy than other brands. Perhaps the long list of discontinued models indicates they are trying to fix the design defects, but I'm ready to give up on Dyson until I start to see some consistently good reviews.

So disappointed – Had my Dyson about 3 years and now the same problem as everyone else. It keeps cutting out after about 10 seconds. My electric broom – We bought this last year to see if it could replace my broom and dustpan. To date it has worked well, I even use it to vacuum the car in preference to my barrel cleaner. The suction is not quite as strong as my barrel cleaner, but adequate for quick clean ups in the kitchen and dining areas. Compared to previous Dyson models we have owned, this one is easily the quietest, but still noisier than our barrel unit.

Dyson DC35 Multi Floor, nearly perfect – I am a Dyson user going back years and love their products and their product support including warranties. I just gave my old upstairs Dyson to my son and wanted to replace it with something easier to store and use. The DC35 seemed perfect for the various surfaces (wood, tile, mats). The DC35 arrived and comes with a wall mount holder which… Read more

needs to be put up somewhere near an electric outlet because there is not a lot of extra cord for the charger. It comes with fixed (non collapsible but detachable) rod and a motorised head which starts when the button on the device is depressed. It also comes with two other attachments. It did a very good job of picking things up and will save me carrying the bigger Dyson up the stairs except for the occasional more thorough clean. I have two suggestions however that would improve the design. One is to have a longer cord from the charger to the wall mount because it is not always possible to put it on a wall so close to a power point. The second is that while it is an excellent idea for someone like myself (older, not wanting to drag or carry a larger vacuum cleaner), I have had surgeries on my dominant right hand and do not have as much strength as I used to. The button must be kept depressed to keep the machine operating and this placed stress on my hand. Using it with a clenched hand for the full 15 minutes it remained charged caused discomfort so I will have to use it for shorter times. It should have a device to lock it to the on position. This is the only reason I have not given it the full stars. Lightweight, convenient, mounts on the wall for easy storage. Cord from the charger was not very long, no way to lock the machine on while using it.

Loving my Dyson DC35 – Our carpets would go for weeks without a vacuum because 1) it was my husband’s job and 2) I could never be bothered lugging the vacuum out of the cupboard, unwrapping the cord, putting together the attachments and then having to change power points whilst vacuuming because the cord is never long enough to reach from one power point to all rooms in… Read more

the house. With the Dyson 35DC (multifloor) these are no longer issues so the carpets and floors are now cleaned a couple of times a week. The battery lasts long enough to vacuum the high use areas of the three carpeted rooms and the living room and kitchen (floorboards) in one charge. Yes it is more expensive than others on the market but worth it. The charge and suction powers of my previous cordless/hand held vacuum (Dustbuster) were woeful compared to the Dyson. The Dyson is easy to empty (one flick of a switch) and there is no fussing about when going from floorboards to carpet – just vacuum. It is not loud and holding onto the on button while vacuuming is, for me, not an issue. In one word I would say the Dyson DC35 (multifloor) is Outstanding! A powerful, compact, cordless vacuum that makes vacuuming a breeze. $390 is a lot for a vacuum but when compared to my dustbuster which was 1/4 of the price .... well there is no comparison!
