the battery required replacement. However, because the serial number is not visible on the original battery, the company has refused to honor the warranty or provide any form of assistance. Also, the trigger snapped and had to be replaced (known fault of this model), the red seal on the dust bin fell out and broke and now the motor has completely died (also seems like a fault in design). When I called Dyson to ask how a $1100 vacuum fails this catastrophically, their "solution" was to tell me the entire body needs replacing (not just the motor - Alibaba $100) for another $300 but would give it to me for $200. This lack of support is extremely disappointing. The offshore call centre could not give a d#mn.

This is the third Dyson I have owned, and it is the third Dyson to end up in the bin. The build quality is abysmal, and the customer service is a joke. I’m done being fooled by the marketing—I will never buy another Dyson product again. Save your money and buy a brand that actually values durability.

Can't live without it - 5 stars! – Strong suction, easy to use and hit tight crevices with all the new attachments and tools. Easily fits into our cupboard which is a huge bonus. Love it and can;t live without it. Show details ·  1

better than the v7 – good vacuum it does exactly what it is billed to do. the suction is very good and the battery life is much superior to older models. I would recommend thos product to anyone that was looking for. the only downside for this unit is the weight of stick which is a bit heavier than previous models. Show details

Dyson throw away garbage – Dyson planned obsolescence, bought in 2020 has since broken 5 times, motor has gone 3 times, the battery has failed and the plastic around the handle has cracked out. Has just failed again and this time it's gone in the bin. Just bought a shark power detect and it is a significantly better product better ergonomics and better performance.....never buying another Dyson, absolute overpriced garbage. Show details

Don't Buy This Model – I purchased this machine Nov 19 as being the top model and reviewing comments on line. Since then the battery died while still under warranty. A year or so later the battery died again and then the trigger mechanism broke, so we fixed that. Now the trigger system has broken again. What a load of rubbish. For the price you pay for a Dyson, they should last a lot longer than that.

Extremely frustrating machine – For the money and the reputation Dyson shout out, I'd expect better than this. We are both disabled and struggle doing the cleaning, but add to that the frustration of this V11, it gets beyond bearable. Each and every time we use it, it comes up blocked airway. The tubes, the head, the container and the frequently cleaned and dried filter are all clear. We are extremely disappointed. Won't recommend and won't buy Dyson again. Show details

It works well – I'm coming to the V11 after the V7. Pros - The V11 definitely has more sucking power. We have all vinyl floors. Cons - It is much heavier, to the point where I feel like I'm completing a workout to vacuum the house, and I want to stop before the job is done. I worked up a sweat, which didn't happen with the V7. Also, it is noisier. You couldn't hear your mobile ring over the noise. The verdict? I kind of miss my V7.

Extremely disappointed with filter replacement – The vacuum cleaner was working well but too often it came up with a notice saying the filter needed to be cleaned. The display as to how to clean it is excellent and it is easy to remove, wash, dry [for 24 hours] then replace it. However, the notice was appearing perhaps every 3 or so times I used the vacuum. every week and our floors are very clean but I accepted that perhaps I should purchase a replacement filter as the current one was the original one so was 3.6 years old. I purchased a new genuine Dyson filter for $55 and when I put it on the vacuum I noticed that it was a tight fit and I had to apply a bit of force to snap it in place. When I replaced the original one after cleaning it I was always favourably impressed by the ease of doing so. I switched it on with the new filter in place and the high torque cleaner head would not rotate. I swapped between the original filter and the new one 5 or 6 times and always had the same outcome - it worked well with the original filter but not with the new one. I rang Sure Vision, the Dyson SA/NT service centre from whom I had purchased the filter and they said to bring it out to them which I did. They tried it and agreed with my findings and said they could not understand why it was happening. They said to leave my vacuum with them and they would investigate. They contacted me a week or so later and said it needed "Main body and service with a filter. Cost $265." I quote verbatim. I rang and said it was working perfectly when I bought the new filter and still did when I used the original one so how could they say the vacuum was faulty. They could not answer that. I also pointed out that they had the new filter I had bought from them so they couldn't charge me again. They then reduced the price to $210. I rang Dyson Australia on two occasions and spoke with pleasant people but they did not offer any help. I paid $1,150 for the vacuum and was extremely disappointed when all I wanted to do was replace the filter. Until then I was pleased with it, so much so I bought another one [Dyson V7 Motorhead] 7 months ago for our holiday place. The difficulty of contacting anyone in Dyson who could actually do anything useful in my scenario was such that I would hesitate to buy Dyson again. It is disappointing that there is only one place to go to have the product serviced. After three trips to the other side of town and still no satisfactory outcome I was not happy. I finally paid the extra $210 [on top of the $55 for the filter]. I asked Sure Vision to give me the parts they replaced but I forgot to check they gave back my original filter - I might need it - and they kept it!

Machine failed within 6 months of purchase – I am really quite disappointed. The LCD screen was displaying the battery as full and yet the vacuum was not powering at all. The machine has three bars and all were showing as full. I think it could be an issue with the battery pack communicating with the LCD screen. and have this issue, it is frustrating. Before this issue, the vacuum worked well but the suction was not always strong as the vacuum is bagless and so the dust could sometimes clog as it made its way through the tube to enter the barrel. The gap between the barrell and tube is not very big and so this is not made for heavy duty vacuuming, moreso for things like cleaning your car mats or little clean ups.

WARNING: conveniently stops working just out of warranty – We've had four Dyson vacuums over the past 10 years, and our V11 absolute is the first unit to stop completely working. as instructed by customer service. Still keeps happening, offer to send out new filter- fantastic customer service. This was with the machine being 4 months out of warranty. Nov 2022- As the vacuum is out of warranty, by 11 months the cheapest option proposed by Dyson customer service was to buy a new main unit, at a cost of $399. After running through what was happening with the vacuum- nothing! The customer service rep told me Dyson doesn’t need to repair/replace as out if warranty. Under consumer law, shouldn’t an appliance that you pay $1100 for last longer than 3years? There was no other option/solution offered- but you need to pay $399 to get a new motor? Isn’t the motor/base unit the whole unit? And what makes the vacuum work ?!?! This poses the question why did I pay $1100 for a vacuum, when I can buy the whole motor/base unit inc lcd screen for $399?? Very confusing. Considering the V11 absolute is the most recent model we've purchased, and not at an insignificant cost, I'm a little annoyed by the limited solution provided by Dyson.

As mentioned, we have always purchased Dyson products- including barrel and cordless - upgraded the cordless due to needing a bigger stronger model for bigger house. So I very disappointed in the limited solution offered to me by the customer service rep.

I understand appliances break down, but just out of warranty ? And as I read reviews by others on the now obsolete V11-absolute model I feel Dyson know there are common faults with the model and won’t admit it. Not happy Dyson customer.

vacuum my floorboards multiple times a day. I don’t own a broom. If I spill anything I grab the V11, 30 seconds tops and the floor is spotless. I usually suck up anything else that catches my eye while I’m at it. Takes less time than milk takes to froth while making a coffee, or the kettle to boil making tea. I have a dog who sheds and likes to brings leaves, dirt and small sticks home from the park in his coat. The V11 takes care of that, food crumbs, human hair, small pieces of paper/cardboard, fluff and the innards of whatever toy my dog has most recently destuffed. My V11 has taken in screws, jewellery, lego and even a pencil the other day - with no issue. When it’s a hard to reach space I thank my Dyson for reclaiming what was otherwise lost as I remove it from the bin. While I don’t vacuum up these types of things on purpose it has never caused a blockage on occasions I have.

The V11 leaves bedroom carpets looking brand new, so I vacuum them almost every days. It’s very satisfying for 2 minutes output. Despite such frequent vacuuming my carpet looks as perfect now as it did when I bought it five years ago. I doubt there’s many other brands of vacuum that leave no trace of heavy use on carpets.

Regarding customer service and warranties, I strongly disagree with some of the reviews for the V11 and about Dyson itself that have been written here. Many sound to me like user error (google?), a poor product choice for the individual needs of the reviewer (do your homework?), or not being prepared to help figure out the problem with customer support - so Dyson are left no choice but to request the machine be sent in so they can look at what the owner could have over the phone, but were more interested in yelling at the minimum wage Dyson rep.

I’ve had a blockage error in my machine once. Only once, and it was towards warranty expiration. The cause? User misuse. I used my vacuum to clean a full bottle of talcum powder that spilt on my carpet. I did the online trouble shooting. Didn’t help. I phoned customer care and politely explained the issue, the trouble shooting I’d done, the causes and sources I’d eliminated, and I was honest about what caused it. They sent me a new motor head and a new soft roller, no questions asked with no blame placed on me. I didn’t have to send it in because I helped them gather the right information to diagnose over the phone. The blockage error isn’t one that occurs for no reason. Honesty still has merit.

Then last month my V11 suddenly lost all power. No blinking light on the charger, just an occasional red lightning bolt on the LCD. Despite knowing I was out of warranty I called customer care, explained the situation and acknowledged I was out of warranty. Dyson sent me a new battery with installation instructions. It didn’t fix the problem. They sent me a new power adaptor next. It didn’t fix the problem. They then sent me another motor head. Still didn’t work. Realising something wasn’t right I looked further and discovered the power point itself had fried and there was nothing wrong with my V11 at all. I’m so Noting my experience I have to object to claims Dyson actively tries to prevent having to execute their product obligation under warranties. Four months after my warranty expired I had everything besides the wands and rollers replaced, without sending it off.

In my experience Dyson staff are one of the best of any company I’ve dealt with. I don’t know of any other company you can ring and say ‘umm I had a house party on Friday night and someone trod on my wand and now it’s stuffed’ and they send you a replacement for free…

But this is not a page to review Dyson, it’s the V11 Absolute. I can understand the comment about this machine perhaps not suiting filthy houses, but if you’re only going to vacuum once a week is a battery operated machine suited to your needs? I wouldn’t be happy if Dyson made a heavier machine to accomodate such users.

I love my V11 so much I’ve just purchased a second to have one upstairs and downstairs so I can vacuum on the go. Forking out another $1,000 now for a second of a machine I’ve had for 3.5 years is the highest recommendation I can offer.

Good when it works. But flawed design. Quite high maintenance – Good overall but the design of the system means it is constantly getting blocked by debris. great suction, has some shortfalls – great suction but possible only drawback is the weight, heavy. Recharge bracket a bit on the flimsy side. My wife loves it but if it were up to me I would have bought another Dyson barrel vacume. Have two Golden Retrievers and this machine picks up their fur with ease. Show details
