Don't waste your money – OK I have had this 2 years now and decided to write a review as I think that's enough time to get used to it. The "good"..... no electric cable and lightweight. The "bad" ... Suction is at best lack lustre especially if you want to pick up anything bigger than a crumb. Objects such as the very smallest "gum nuts" (2-3mm across) and bits of leaves… Read more

or grass will be happily ejected backwards across the floor by the powered head. The base of the waste trap randomly drops open throwing it's contents on the floor for you to pick up all over again. There does not appear to be a fault as such just the catch does not always engage fully. Lastly the battery life.... when new we got 20mins run time, after 2 years we are down to 10 -12 mins so not enough time to vacuum the house in one go anymore - floor area 150sq metres. Dyson suggest buying a new battery pack at $80. Why should I after 2 years and an initial outlay of $459. Conclusion - keep your money and purchase a good old fashioned bagless pull along with a 1200-1500 watt motor that comes with a 2 year warranty and you'll get much better service and value for money. You pay for the brand name which used to be synonymous with quality. I think they missed the target with this model. Will not purchase Dyson again. Sorry guys.

Great little Vac. Has its limitations but very convenient and easy to empty – I have been renovating for over a year and every day I vacuum the house which is always a bit of a mess and crowded as a result of having a whole house load of furniture crammed into half the space. I used my trusty 18v Makita vac for a long time but got sick of cleaning the filter and the smell. I bought the Dyson V6 at The Good Guys mainly for… Read more

the ease of emptying and the HEPA fine filter. I must say it has not disappointed. It's seemingly flimsy ABS plastic body that clips together in what seems to be a way that is designed to break, after a year is still holding together will and I definitely put it through its paces. You do have to take care with it though. Don't ever lean it against the wall and walk away as it will slip to the floor and land with a crash. I don't think it could take many of those. Also when closing the bottom flap after emptying, if you are rough you can bend the under-built clip that holds the door shut. I gently bent it back and it didn't break off but I would want to do that again either. As far as such goes, Dyson claims that their machines have a lot of suction which is true, but my take on it is this..High suction is different to high volume. I have a wood chip collector vac that has way less suction that this Dyson but is such up a great deal of wood chips very quickly. The good aspect of high suction, low volume like the Dyson is that if you are close to the surface you are cleaning it will do a good job of cleaning, However if you are not close to the surface it is rubbish as the vac is unable to draw in a large volume of air and collect objects that are not right against the vac head.

For everyday fine dirt and dust this cordless vac is very good. For larger object such as a plastic lolly wrapper or a small stones or various other objects that REAL people have on their REAL floors its not that great and you are better of picking up anything that isn't dust.

On the plus side the motor head is very maneuverable and can be quickly dismantled to remove the unavoidable bundle of long hair that wraps around the brush. The battery is adequate to scoot around a 100sq meter space at high power. Great for cleaning out the car too.

Best suction, Super ease, Utmost comfort – I was fed up of wired and hefty vacuum cleaners. I was exploring some light weight, good quality vacuum cleaners for my apartment and I came across Dyson V6 Handstick model. After reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try. My biggest concern was drop in suction after some use as it's a problem in many vacuum cleaners. Surprisingly, this… Read more

vacuum cleaner hasn't dropped suction even a bit despite 2 yrs of use. It's very lightweight and it being wireless, you can simply carry it wherever you want. It comes very handy particularly to clean car and other places where wired vacuum won't reach for various limitations. Also, there are various variants of this model available to use it for carpets, house with pets etc. I use mine on carpet as well as tiled floors and it works fine -

there are some helpful connectors that come along with it and some more can be purchased separately from Dyson's website or regular stores. Customer service is amazing - they replace/ repair the part in a very short time if something went wrong though Dyson products are sturdy and fault is unlikely.

The only negative could be that one can use it only for around 20-25 minutes after charging the battery to the full. For a 2-bedroom apartment, this is enough time to vacuum clean all rooms quickly. The time seems very short but one must note that you don't press button/trigger for 20 mins continuously as you move around in house, so probably in 45 mins of cleaning activity, your vacuum needs to be ON for say 20-25 mins. Thus, it's not too bad. Another small issue I have with it is high level of noise but that applies to any good vacuum cleaner which has high suction power.

Good for general clean – I like this vacuum cleaner for an easy general clean. The battery lasts approx. 20 min running time which allows me ample time to vacuum my home. Sometimes it doesn't pick up EVERYTHING but running it back over, it seems to do the trick but I have found that issue with a lot of vacuums I have used in the past. Show details

Helpful for daily clean – It works well so far. It is much more powerful than my previous philip cordless vacuum cleaner. It would be better if it has a larger battery. The battery can only work for one room area. I have to recharge it again and again. Also, it is not as easy to clean up the inside dust as advertised.

Legit gave me blisters – I was genuinely so surprised to see how bad this product was, given the rave reviews and high price. The head compartment of this vacuum heats up so much that when I'm vacuuming on a hot summer's day, it gave me blisters. Not even a lie. Plus, I couldn't help but get irritated that the vacuum clogs up very easily in every possible compartment, and every 5-6 vacuums I'd have to pull the ENTIRE thing apart.

Rubbish – Works well for first 2 months . Short term product, as the spinning pick up just stops working, the battery turns bad and lasts a maximum of 4 minutes , and the low power mode is useless and sucks nothing up . After complaining, got shipped the wrong part twice. Completely overpriced product with no attempt at making something that lasts more than a couple of months Show details

Good for quick jobs, but the dust collection bin is small. Cleaning the unit is a chore, very hard to not have the dust go everywhere. It probably takes longer to clean then to do the actual vacuuming. Show details

Convenience par excellence – Our floors are a mixture of tiles, laminate and carpet. We were looking for something light but powerful that also had a powered head. The V6 fitted our price range and seemed to fit the bill. The dyson V6 has met these criteria very well indeed. It is amazing how much it picks up which only highlights its biggest draw back. Only if the design can change – The dyson vacuum cleaners are definitely a game changer product. The motor looks good, no more hassle of cords and easy to store. The only real issue i have with it is the weight proportion. Since the motor is close to the handle, my hands keep hurting after using it for 10 minutes. I wish the motor was towards the lower part of the handle or near the suction tubes like the other cordless product. Also the price is a little steep.  Show details

OK for small jobs – This unit mostly gets used on hard wooden flooring and as we have pets, a lot of the work is picking up dog hair; a job it does admirably. It's somewhat less useful on carpet for the limited attempts we've made but it's hardly designed to be a replacement for a normal household vacuum. The battery life in turbo mode is only about 8 minutes so… Read more

unless you are planning on just cleaning up a spill it's better to leave it in normal mode where you'll get around 20 minutes of use from a fully charged battery.

In short. View it as an (expensive and oversized) dust-buster which is ok value if you get it on a special like we did but I'm not overly sure it would be worth paying the normal price for it. If you have a reasonable area to vacuum then you are far better stepping up to one of the full sized models and I'm not convinced it does more than the 3 year old B&D Dust-buster we already had.

Works ok for about 2 years – With moderate use, the filter clogs up easily and simply washing it doesn't help in cleaning it. It really needs a deep clean or a replacement filter. Not really 'lifetime' at all. Battery does not hold charge as well as it use to, and seems to lose its capacity quicker than a similar LG stickvax we have. Replacement battery is expensive.  Show details ·  1

Great – Great vacuum for around the house and doing the car etc. Suction is great, I hate that the maximum suction option only lasts a short time (about 7 mins) but the general speed is fine for most things and the battery life goes around the house once or twice before needing charge. when using on thicker shaggy rugs you do need the maximum suction… Read more

speed so gotta rush to get it done but the vacuum is affordable and handles well so I’m not sorry about the purchase. One thing I do hate, when vacuuming for awhile your finger gets sore from holding the trigger, a switch/holding lock would have been nice.

It’s ok I guess – I use this product on tile. I find that if your trying to suck up anything larger than say half a tic tac. Your going to have a bad time. The brushes often just flick larger pieces around the floor meaning you have to go over certain spots again. Idea is brilliant. Just not designed to pick up larger items. Brushes easily clogged with hair. And you don’t really get a powerful clean on carpets.  Show details
