Disappointing for the price. Lasted a couple of years. Designed to fail. Uncomfortable grip. First the battery charger failed, so bought a replacement. Then the battery failed so bought a replacement. Then it stopped working again so I threw it in the bin. My DeWalt power tools are still working (just) on 15 year old original batteries. Show details

Useless battery – Battery absolutely not fit for purpose. Degrades to almost zero run time just out of warranty period. Product support is slow and useless and replacement batteries are almost half the cost of a machine despite being ridiculously low capacity Show details

Constantly choking!!! – We use it mostly on tiles and it is probably the most frustrating home appliance we own. 90% of the time it is choking while vacuuming. The instructions say that it is because something is blocked up, it is not. If it is, then it is way too sensitive. This is the last time I buy Dyson because I spend more time trying work out why it’s not just vacuuming than actually vacuuming… Show details

Good suction – Mitchell and Brown got a discount on V7 so we decided to get one for our work area and accomodation. The pricing was great $398. Come with 3 adaptor heads and very easy to assemble. max power on, we can collect a full canister of dust. However the battery life on the max power setting, you will get 5-6 minutes before a recharge. On a normal power I managed to get about 30 minutes.

The noise level is reasonable at 78 dB for max power and 71 dB for normal; using Apple watch.

Empty the dust canister is quick and easy, charging is quick and the unit is light enough for short time usage.

One recommendation I would suggest will be a stay on trigger function; instead of continuously holding the trigger to operate.

Overall happy with the V7.

Very happy with the v7 motorhead – This is my first cordless vacuum cleaner, after a few weeks of use it does everything I want. Used on short pile carpet and sculptured slate floor tiles. An imperfection is the exhaust air blows out directly onto your body. I didn't like that despite the HEPA filter so made a simple air deflector from an old yogurt container not pretty but does the job perfectly. Mr Dyson please take note!

V7 Good product with excellent customer service – We've had 2+ years of use from our Dyson V7 but ran into problems just prior to its 2 year warranty ending. Prior to this problem, the machine had worked very well and has been used daily since puchased in 2020.

I've contacted Dyson and they have organised a replacement. Can I just say, full marks for their prompt service and standing behind their product for it was just out of warranty

Much appreciated!

Battery fails to hold charge, I’ll never touch Dyson again – Well, Dyson have completely screwed the pooch with this latest ballsup of a product. I must have purchased it a few years ago now, but it fails to hold charge. I wouldn’t have used this more then 100 times, if that. Modern lithium batteries are meant to last 300-500 cycles, so there’s no excuse. It runs for about 10 seconds, from being plugged… Read more

in for hours “charging”. If I plug it back in and charge it and the. Use it immediately, it runs as expected. So, it clearly has a drain problem within the circuitry. Who designed this??? They need to be fired.

What blows my mind is that, in the past, Dyson had a good reputation for quality durable goods. This product is far from that. Clearly they’ve used inferior parts, and haven’t done the basics of quality control. A total opposite of what this company is meant to represent.

Many reviews on here state the exact same issue.

Due to this, I’ll never, ever, buy a product of theirs, ever again. Did I say ever enough?

Good work Dyson. You’ve screwed yourself and all your customers in the process. Goodbye. You’re dead to me now.

Dyson V7 is average – Dyson V7 Motorhead stopped working 3 days before Christmas. If the motorhead stops then the vaccuum is useless. Did all the trouble shooting tips, nothing. Can buy new motorhead online for $195 if can get your hand on one..this is ridiculous when the whole vaccuum cost $350. years I found I could purchase a new battery and it worked again (that one is still working well after 4 plus years with 3rd party battery). Not good enough Dyson… Very disappointed with the Motorhead brush and Dyson’s response – *** Note there are 2 different brushes that you can buy this model which appear externally the same! One is a 3 prong connection and the other is a 4 prong connection!! Dyson does not make this clear anywhere on their website or in any of the material which comes with this machine about 2 different brush prong types!! *** My 77yo mother bought… Read more

this Dyson V7 vacuum cleaner with high expectations from a retailer in Wodonga in 2020 for $399. She used it for several months and noticed the brush hair on the brush had worn out so went to the retailer where she bought it to ask to buy a new brush for the brush head. Their response was can’t help. There were no brushes for sale on the Dyson website, only the full MotorHead for $125. So then she searched online and managed to find a replacement brush to buy for a Dyson V7 Motorhead. So then searched EBay for a V7 MotorHead. She paid $40 on eBay and when it arrived she tried to fit it but noticed it wouldn’t fit. She then bought another one she thought was correct but again this didn’t fit. After much frustration she then asked me to try and fit it. I checked it out and after a while I noticed the original brush was a 3 prong type whereas the one she purchased was a 4 prong type. No where in the ads online or material that came with the vacuum did it indicate there are 2 different brush types (3 prong or 4 prong). Wth did Dyson change the brush type for a model with nothing to indicate there are 2 different types?? In the end my mum got so upset with this unit she had thrown it in the bin!

I rang Dyson customer service a couple of weeks ago and the woman I spoke to showed little concern for the frustration we experienced. We spent $80 on replacement brushed that didn’t fit! Their advice was they don’t sell this 3 prong type and only offered the MotorHead for $125. So Dyson believe that after spending $399 that if the brush wears out after several months that the solution is for a customer to then need to purchase a new MotorHead for a further $125? Hmmm…

I mentioned to the Dyson customer service officer the frustration we experienced and suggested that Dyson should make some reference somewhere to the 2 different prong types available. I sensed she had little interest in taking this feedback seriously and it was falling on deaf ears. She was more interested in selling me a new MotorHead for $125 rather than listening to customer feedback. My feedback was not simply to practice making a complaint! I rang so they could possibly publicise this somewhere yet sense they will ignore this feedback and let other customers experience the same frustration!!

We could not recommend Dyson based on the performance of this vacuum and especially the customer service I received. We won’t be buying Dyson products again…

Not good enough Dyson…

Because of my disabilty I get help in to assist and in December I asked the girl suport worker to vacuum the floor but the Dyson would only go for a few seconds before dying. Because of COVID in Qld have not had any support help this year and floor has not been vacuumed since last year and the corded Dyson too heavy for me. My wife is bedridden with dementia and I am her carer. The battery warranty is 24 months . The battery lasted 25 months meaning it is out of warranty by about 30,days and would cost $99 to replace a new battery. Dyson claim the battery should last about 4 years or 48 months, not just 25 months. Have tried to find an email address for Dyson support but it does not seem to exist and hoping Dyson will read this review and consider my disappointment in this purchase and I can thus modify my review in a positive manner about the Coy. Dyson in good faith and your ethical standards and product name, please reconsider your warranty on this machine and be a little flexible given that it is just a very short time past your expressed warranty. I listen to law talk on the radio and often warranty matters come up such as those implied as merchantable quality by the retailer, compared to those expressed by the manufacturer.

service line prior to get details of the various models. I was told my V6 attachments would fit the V7 so I opted for the motorhead with fewer attachments but a better motor head. After receiving my order I am for the first time so disappointed. Trying to empty the canister for the first time the whole canister would dislodge and the bottom flap would not open I contacted the service line and with instruction and much fiddling concluded it hadn't been assembled correctly in production we finally got it clicked in as it should have been. The V6 attachments DO NOT FIT the V7, so I have the limited few which came with this model. The suction is under par and not as strong on the low setting as my old model and this superior motor head does not work on my shag pile rug the head is forever jamming. I never had any of these issues with my old model this is clearly inferior. This is also the view of my husband who is of the same opinion. I paid $499 and its not worth the money..... I don't know whether to return it and pay more for a better model but in two minds about Dyson now....I never give reviews but felt in this instance I felt I needed to.

much.

The V7 with motorhead is light, performs well on all surfaces and has almost rendered my Dyson Ball vacuum obsolete. With the robot and the ability to use this daily I haven't used the "main" vacuum for almost 3 months.

This Vacuum is more than enough for any hard surface and the motor head also does well on carpets, rugs etc. The attachments make it quick and easy to get all the nooks and crannies.

Whilst I've tried the other Dyson handhelds V8-V11 for this price point I believe it's light and powerful enough to stay comfortable, both physically and on the back pocket.

I didn't want to believe a handheld could spell end of mains powered vacuuming, but we'll it's very possible with units like this.
