With much regret I would like to share the bad experience me & my family friends had with this Dyson vacuum machine for several times with 4 of our vacuum. After purchasing brand new unit approximately within 2 or 3 months the unit stopped working. And once contacted Dyson it appeared that the battery became faulty. Surprisingly same thing… Read more
happened to three units of my family and one unit of my family friends. It's such disgusting experience within few months of buying a brand new machine. I have to acknowledge Customer support team was 100% supportive every time contacted. After trying out few troubleshooting on phone or facebook messenger they immediately ordered the replacement battery free of charge and we received battery within few days. Even after a week or so they were checking on me if all good then. Very very professional after sales support. Also need to mention, after the battery first time replacement the device is alright for 3, 4, 5 years no issues after. But I thought my fellow Australian should know about this matter about Dyson vacuum so they can think twice before making a decision to buy the new vacuum. I seriously think Dyson should run a survey with all the customers to go deep into this trouble that thousands of Australian are facing.

Ok but not sure about the new motorbar feature – Just bought a new V8 Origin which has the new Motorbar Cleaner Head which claims to have 56 hair removal vanes. I don't know how effective it is. It seems to make a really really loud rattling noise when using it on tiles or wood. And when using it on carpet, leaves a whole lot of groove marks on the weave. Has anybody else experienced this? I WAS the biggest sceptic on electric cordless vacuums – Bought this morning, charged up and tested. Noise: you couldn't run it while people sleeping but it is close to that quiet if you have the doors closed! Cleaning efficiency: 11/10! After doing the van and house the V8 had only used 1/4 to half it's full charge battery power! (8 metre van and average 3br house with carpet, Shag pile, tiles and Lino)!
The attached photo is just the dirt it picked up in my van AFTER the traditional vac had been used recently!
COST: $375 for the basic kit for mine, and separately I have now grabbed about $100 worth of accessories (rack, Makita battery adaptor and various nozzles).

strenuous on the stairs not to mention the potential for accidents on the stairs. The vacuum was delivered within days. Unpacking was easy and we mounted it on the wall of the garage. I gave it a try on our floorboards and it worked well. It was more quiet than I had anticipated. Very easy to use on the boards and also on carpet in our living area. It had good suction and changing the nozzles was relatively easy. I used it for at least 40 minutes and the battery charge held. The only con that I could identify (which is definitely not a deal breaker) was that it suited my partner's larger hand better than mine. I found it took more effort for me to grip and use by the end of the 40 minutes.

technicians) quickly worn brushes, easy clogging, suction loss progressively and almost immediately, poor quality materials, rapid deterioration of battery life, the last (almost, have been a die hard Dyson user since 1999/2000 when I bought my very first from Retravision in Marysville….extremely expensive compared to everything else, but worth every cent…..laughed at by friends who tried it and immediately went and purchased their own!) I had to try one more time but sadly no change to the disappointing decline in quality and performance.. yet another contributed to excessive landfil by producing‘disposable’ short lasting (even immediately faulty) highly priced products. My home is tiny and it should have managed with ease especially since I’ve had to learn to sweep my hard floors prior to using my Dysons over the past few models to prevent immediate and ongoing repeat blockages! Even after spending a year in storage having a test after a thorough clean, it still couldn’t manage a year of use…..I couldn’t even in good faith even try to get some money selling my problems to someone else, I’ll just have to wear the cost of a new replacement vacuum but sadly having been such a devoted Dyson customer, I can’t risk the money or sacrifice the cleanliness of my home (or my sanity) risking it yet again. Such a shame and back to the drawing board to find a new brand to love and trust with my daily cleaning.

Terrible service at Dyson and terrible product – I had 2 Dyson (V7 and V8). Both had battery died after just a bit more than a year. Sent the V8 to Dyson for repair because the battery had 2 years warranty. It was obviously that the battery died but it took them 5 weeks to send the new battery and now at week 7 I still haven't received the machine back. Terrible service at Dyson and terrible product. And The Good Guys couldn't help either. Show details

Not the best but far from the worst – Great vacuum for smaller tasks, eg quick carpet cleaning, floating floors or car cleaning. Not great for bigger projects. Batteries are a serious issue but can be easily replaced. They have a great wall mount with easy charging but it seems if you leave it on 24/7 it effects battery life. Show details

Better battery – I have V8 cordless vacuum. Battery life always was cr#p. Went on E bay and purchased a aftermarket one. Best thing I ever did. New battery is a 6000mAh compared to Dyson's 2800mAh. Never flattened the new one yet. Easy to install. Remove 3 screws, pull old battery out and reverse procedure and charge to fill. Show details

Worst product ever hands down! – Had this overpriced worthless paperweight for 12 months now. 2 and half minutes vacuum time before needing 8 hours charge! Beyond pathetic, bordering on fraud selling this complete junk! Made scratches on our floor – The battery life is disappointing, using it on max only lasts 2 minutes! The head also stops rotating now and then for no obvious reason. But worst of all is that it makes scratches on our wooden floor, and I can’t find out why. So we’ve stopped using it. Would not recommend. Show details

Best vacuum I’ve owned – I absolutely love my Dyson v8 origin. It’s so easy to operate. I’ve got young kids and dogs, so the place gets messy quickly so this vacuum gets all the mess they leave, and works great on the hard floors and the carpeted areas of our home. that kept the vacuum running, but I actually find it easy to use. I use it on carpet and tiles and it does such a good job and is very easy to empty into the bin as well. I haven’t used the power switch yet, as I haven’t really found the need for that function. My housework is so much easier and quicker now. I would highly recommend this product.
Terrible battery – Battery doesn’t last any more the a minute now . Did last about 10 at the start and that isn’t good enough at all in a 4 bedroom house . Takes about 4 hours to charge . Didn’t ever really pick up pet hair or dust . Iv just bought a shark plug in hover because Iv had enough and I couldn’t rate that higher . Will never buy a dyson again .

Appalling battery life – This machine has been used for usual domestic tasks and charged appropriately. The big problem with this machine is that the battery life is appalling. The machine now requires its second replacement battery. Each has lasted approximately 2 years. This is a life saver – I use this Dyson on granite, floating timber as well as carpets in formal area and my car. I was asked not to use regular vacuum cleaner by my osteopath due to pain on my spine. As a result I had cleaner service weekly but stopped it during covid.
