Earth Electric Bikes
1 review
I have an Earth T-Rex ebike which I bought second hand in nearly new condition a year ago. The display which connects the power and enables the bike to operate has ceased to function. I live in the Inner West of Sydney but I cannot locate either on the net or locally an agent. The one listed on the website is no longer a service agent. My local ebike dealer won't go near it. I have phoned the number on Earth bikes website and have left 3 voicemails in the past week. No reply. I have sent 3 emails, no reply. I have even written saying I want to buy a bike, no reply. Generic displays do not work on this bike because of different protocols. I have bought two and now have to return them at my own cost through the post. I have a bike which I can't use and Earth are unavailable. If I were you I'd keep clear of Earth bikes if you want any after sales service.
Follow-up · The bike is an Earth T-Rex model. These were first manufactured in 2021. I bought mine second hand in October 2024 from a private seller. The odometer showed 1,700 km. It was in nearly new condition. The display plastic began to disintegrate until the on/off switch broke away and ceased functioning. The only repair option was to replace the display with Earth original parts. I tried to generics when I couldn’t get an answer from Earth. I phoned 3 times and left voicemails. I emailed 3 times. NO RESPONSE. The generics did not work. Wrong protocols I believe. Eventually I found an Earth dealer in Gosford (I live in Sydney) who chased down an original part. It cost $250 +pp. it took me over 4 works. The Earth website is totally useless. It even named Sydney agent who has long since ceased being an agent. Next time I buy a bike which has reliable and local after sales service.
