Panniers for ebike

Headache

Bike Service

I had an accident on my bike and had it repaired and serviced at 99 Bikes Prospect by Shane. He was very informative and and gave me options for consideration, very professional and will return again.

Overall pleasant and helpful but doubts linger

Service with the sales person very pleasant. I asked where my bike was made and the reply was Germany. After I left, curiosity prompted me to check where my bicycle was manufactured. It was China and owned by a USA company Dahon. Never in Germany. It begs the question of salesman credibility and misinformation.
When I visited to pick up the bike, the salesman I dealt with was not on duty. I was looked after by the team leader who seemed very distracted, eyes and attention not on me but everywhere else, so much I asked if there was a problem. Answer "No". It would have been good to know what was causing this.

Painless purchase of a mountain bike at 99 Bikes

Noel who served and advised me was first-class, knowledgeable, and helpful. He sized me up for the right frame and watched as I rode the bike around the car park, then suggested adjustments.

Terrible

I went to 99 bikes modbury to buy a new tube for my daughters dk micro 18" bike. After alot of messing around on the computer and attempting to pry the tyre off from the rim, without success, I left empty handed and was told to look at ebay for tubes as they did not stock them or even have them in their data base.....(even though thet used to sell the bike in question). I then went down to My Ride at Sailsbury who not only had the tube in stock but quickly installed for me on the spot at no extra cost. Avoid 99 bikes. Show details

Missing parts AGAIN

Once again, I ordered something in store and when it came it was missing parts. I purchased a Thule bike rack and picked it up a couple of days later. The box had been clearly opened and then taped up prior to delivery at the store I was dealing with. Sure enough, when I arrived home and tried to set it up, the adaptors were missing, and the rack could not be used. Similarly, a carbon Merida road bike I had purchased a few months earlier had the tyres and valves removed prior to delivery. When you see that the owners are ‘Flight Centre’, with a history of alleged ‘gouging’, such difficulties are to be expected. Show details

Why are these jokers scamming people with misleading information on shipping?? $199 to ship a scooter to WA yet NOTHING was even mentioned prior to ordering and nothing on their delivery page about shipping times etc.......ACCC need to know about this?
