Upon unboxing the Torrey, I was really surprised at how meticulously the bike was packed in the carton, with lots of foam padding and nothing was missing nor was there a scratch on the bike. It took me about 1 hour and 15 minutes to assemble the bike, which came with its own toolkit. It’s best to download the online version of the User Manual which is more current than the printed version of the User Manual which is found in the carton. I’ve now ridden the Torrey for 95 kms and it’s great fun and a dream to ride. It’s 4 inch fat tyres makes it very difficult to fall off the bike. It really grips the gravel roads and sand extremely well, giving you a feeling of security and great stability. I can’t imagine anyone falling off this bike under normal circumstances. I primarily ride the Torrey on gravel roads and on the beach/sand, on the shoreline targeting where the sand is at its firmest, at low tide. The Torrey handles like it’s on rails and is effortless to ride. It’s step-through frame and dual suspension was a key selling point for me, as it makes alighting/dismounting easy, and riding over potholes and ruts much more comfortable. I never get tired or raise a sweat riding this bike. The build quality of the Torrey is much better than I had expected. It oozes high quality components and uses heavy gauge metal which makes the bike very sturdy. Leitner has done a great job in sourcing quality components from different manufacturers and the Torrey’s build quality is akin to that of a German or Japanese made vehicle. Leitner obviously exercises excellent quality control over its suppliers. Everything on the Torrey works extremely well; from the headlight - which is as powerful as a car’s, to the 7 gears and the info system and peddle assist settings, and the battery lasts and lasts …. I rode for 28 kms along the beach sand shoreline and it only used about 20% of the battery’s power, despite the peddle assist (PAS) being at the maximum setting of 5 all of the way. The PAS can be set anywhere from 1 to 5, but I always leave it on 5 to get the maximum assist. The dual disc brakes work great and I find the tyres work best when inflated to 20 psi for comfort and grip, not 30 psi as the tyres’ wall recommends. I highly recommend the Torrey especially for riding on gravel roads and sand. This is an outstanding bike for that purpose.
Have had our Leitner e-bikes for just over 10 years and love them to bits - they still look and ride as good as new. Recently had to replace the batteries after they degraded whilst in storage for 8 months (a learning!!) - Leitner could not have been more helpful and after the order was placed everything arrived within 2 days (from interstate). Out and about with out walking with no restrictions – We have had 2 libelle folding step through bikes for 2 years could not be more happier, at present we are at Tinaroo dam in North Queensland, we take these bikes in the back of our Dmax when ever we go travelling it's the best thing we have ever purchased, would like some sort of rain coat for them when we are parked up in case of showers if you're not at the van when it rain just love these bikes.

13-32 cassette, and a 40t crankset as original gearing is very highly geared for the hills we ride. The Tektro disc brakes squeal badly as they use sintered pads so replaced with resin pads and no noise. Also, without mudguards and light it actually weighs 18.5kg as verified on a digital scale but still light in weight for the price and not bad range. Really quick shipping and received next day.
Follow-up · As I'm I retired mobile bicycle mechanic, assembly was easy, and the average punter shouldn't have any issues particularly with Google if you get into trouble. Its only a 250w motor and relatively small battery, but still fine for most climbs although I've fitted lower gearing.

I can cycle with basically zero effort and it handles the hills brilliantly. If feels magnificent to ride again daily and brings me such joy. It’s given me back my independence as I can get to my local shops on my own. I honestly feel like it gives me superpowers to get places I want to go with minimal effort. I can’t recommend t this bike enough. It’s SO well made it’s super solid and sturdy to ride. I’m 5”7 and it’s perfect for me. I’m in love with it!!!!!!! It’s bringing me a lot of joy and reminds me of being a kid.

If you have cfs or health issues like me and have to rely almost purely on pedal assist and want to ride for a few hours at a time I’d recommend getting one of the other folding bikes you can add a bigger battery too. So my battery lasts about 1.25hrs and I hammer the pedal assist. I only need to ride max an hour at the very most so it’s fine for me. Meets my needs and the fact it’s 15k when the others a are more like 24k makes it Moore manageable for me to fold and manoeuvre plus once this one is folded you just push it along on its wheels holding the seat. The others not really designed for that. Just fold to put in the car boot. So that’s what sold me on the Aria. It’s light. Has the fold and go system and the battery is nicely hidden in the seat post. Also I read another review where a couple bought and aria and a libelle and both preferred the Aria model!

suggested 32 even if you had to use the lights for a couple of hours. The Seat is tipped slightly back which makes it uncomfortable because I really want to push/pedal. We tried to adjust it but the nuts are screwed on so tightly we stripped the angles without loosening them.* The motor/Pedal Assist, kick-in, is very unpredictable. Sometimes immediate sometimes well over 20 pedals before it kicks in. If you stop pedaling while the speedometer is reading 24.7 it wont kick in until its dropped to 23 or less and often seems to come in on a resistance mode. - I find back pedalling helps it come back into assist mode but that is not at all convenient and in busy traffic, dangerous. The speedometer is unreliable. It never reads more than 24.7 (the legal speed limit for an ebike in Australia) and stays there even as I feel I'm going a little slower or faster. Heavy. Great to have the assist on the inclines but certainly no speedster there and seems to slow me on the descent. (Would not be confident of any distance over a very hilly area or getting up long steep hills!) *My husband emailed about the problem with the seat a week ago and has had no response. I guess like the quality of the bike, the quality of service is dropping too.

Over a two week period we emailed back and forth, exploring all possibilities and options. Email responses were always very timely and considered. The bike is now in working order and I cannot thank the team at Leitner enough. All of their time and effort has cost me nothing. And yet, they have saved me the expense of a new bike when in fact I already had a fabulous bike. The fault in fact was nothing to do with the bike. Making the actual purchase was very easy with just a few clicks. I am very satisfied with the Venice which was not at all difficult to assemble and everything worked perfectly the first ride out. I think the bike offerers fantastic quality for the price and I intend to purchase a second one, probably the Porta for bush riding, in the near future. I’ve been in touch with Leitner staff by phone and email and they have been friendly, competent and helpful. I have no hesitation about recommending this company and its product.

Really disappointed. Purchased new in 2020 and in 2023 had to replace the battery at a cost of approx $700. At that stage the bike had done approx 2009klms. And it has now failed again. And it had only done an extra 800klms. When we contacted them and answered all the questions and sent photos we were offered 10% discount. We have decided to go for another brand as it isn’t good enough. Really disappointed.

Heavy, poor on hills, cumbersome returns process – I purchased the Berlin Cruiser. returned the bike but found the returns process cumbersome. The return parcel was 50% more expensive than the original delivery cost. The return communication was non-existent, and the returned amount is less than the purchase price... Presumably because the company has decided to deduct an amount for scratches/dirtiness.. but they have not supplied an itemisation.
I think the company should be grateful I'm not complaining to a consumer body about marketing claims which are unsubstantiated in the product.

Great service and prompt resolution to the problem – I had a warranty claim on a broken stand. There was a fault in the casting. I rang Leitner about it and they asked for photos which I sent. They accepted the claim and posted the part the same day. I’m impressed with the quality and professionalism of leitner staff and I am very happy with my bike. It smooths out the bumps and is pleasant to ride.
