Eatons Hill Hotel

Beyond terrible. Staff rude and useless if you can find one and prices through the roof. Every time I've attended there has been multiple issues with incorrect drinks and payments etc. Honestly I think Comiskey goes out of his way to find just the worst staff.

On Saturday, the 31st of May 2025, I attended a 50th Birthday Party on the Rooftop Level of the Eatons Hill Pub, and our hosts provided an open tab with finger foods for five hours. All who attended the party were business owners, professionals, and their families. It was a cold, wet night, and heaters were not provided as promised. Parts of the area were not weatherproof and no attempts were made to keep the floors as dry as possible either.

Not all bar staff were welcoming, and the unwelcoming lacked basic customer service skills. The food, however, was great and earned the one-star rating. A couple of people were refused service of alcohol near the end of the party, and this was understandable. Unacceptable, however, was the influx of security personnel for no good reason.  Seemingly talking and laughing so you could be heard above the surrounding noise is not acceptable.  And pathetically, the security personnel told some of the patrons to leave the premises. Once the Rooftop Level time passed, most of us went down to the nightclub to have a dance etc. While dancing with his mother, best friend and his best friend's mother, my son was grabbed on the back of the neck, by the uneducated islander security thug who had a beard, and pushed toward the exit - note this is assault.  When my son and his mother asked why he was being removed, the uneducated islander security thug said, 'You're doing cocaine because you are sweating!'. The uneducated islander security thug tried to take further physical action, and my wife and I were forced to intervene, taking my son away from the premises and the extra security personnel that had arrived.

The Eatons Hill Pub appears to be managed by inadequate managers, poorly trained staff and hired security personnel that include uneducated bullies who operate without constraint. The one thing Eatons Hill Pub can be assured of is that no one who attended the function, will ever visit or book with the Eatons Hill Pub or its ‘sisters’ again. This includes their family and friends.

Come on Comiskey Group, you would not accept the above for your family and friends, not to mention the negative impact on your business returns!

Lunch at the EH – Seven family members enjoyed lunch at the EH last week. Right from reserving our table through to finishing our meal, everything went smoothly. All staff were happy and professional. Menu was extensive and food delicious. Venue was clean and bright (we sat near the big windows at the back). It wasn't our first visit and certainly not our last. Highly recommended.
