Troublesome Ecovac – WE found it hard to set up the mapping system, also does not like carpet but is great on wooden / tile floors. Cannot climb onto mats/rugs. Gets lost in its own mapping set up. Contacted their help line and was told, it was self explained in the manual Show details

Four years and still happy – We bought the 900 in 2019. It’s a great tidy up vacuum cleaner. Dog hair and dust are all collected well. Still need to use our big cleaner to do carpets and get into corners but this cleaner is great for general cleans. I do wish the dust collection container was bigger as I have to empty it four times for a 100sq m house. I like the mapping app as it lets me focus a clean in a particular area. We use the product at least twice a week. Show details ·  1

Expensive product that won’t even start and support is woeful – We purchased this product to make our lives easier and we are ready to throw it in the bin. In 2021 a vacuum cleaner should not be this hard to get the first bit of dirt sucked up. It won’t start from the charging station. Same error coming up over and over in spite of flowing the set up instructions numerous times. Phone support is very difficult… Read more

Great interface but battery issues – We bought the Ecovacs Ozmo 900 in September last year for our single storey 3 bedroom dwelling. The vacuum worked quite well at first. Mapping took awhile but once house was mapped it became easier to use. Robot is not the smartest especially when going over the humps between rooms. It gets stuck trying to move forward. You have to go into the app… Read more

to make it clean an area behind it to free it from the hump. Just this evening we found it stuck once again between room doors. However when I carried it back to the charging port, it has stopped charging completely. Tried removing and charging it for 3 minutes, 3 times, but it is not charging anymore. And this complete breakdown just happened on the 1st month after the warranty ended. Very timely. Do your research before investing in robot vacuums and don't buy cheap.

Do your research before you buy this product! – We bought the DEEBOT OZMO 900 3 years ago, as we were looking for something that worked on dark floors and a mutli level dwelling. The Ecovacs sales assistant mentioned that the product worked on dark carpet/floors and that soon Ecovacs would be releasing an update for mutli level mapping and cleaning. 3 years on and still no such feature for… Read more

multi level mapping has been introduced, so that was definitely misinformation/ misguidance from the sales assistant.

In the first year this product worked reasonably well, but since then there have been constant performance issues which keep getting worse. Furthermore on the issues, overtime I have also noticed that the constant app updates trigger glitches with the product functioning and also causes issues with the product/app’s connection to the wifi.

Overall, I would consider spending a bit more money and time doing your research into investing on a more reliable product as now this is an unusable product.

Poor after purchase service – Think carefully before buying as there is no repair centre in any state other than Victoria. Sending your machine away for 1 month to be fixed under warranty is absolute rubbish. It is no a service it is a major problem. Why they haven't got a local repair person is a mystery. Especially in covid times. Show details

A mediocre unit at an attractive price point – I have a mostly timber floor with some tiling and one rug in my house. The Deebot is very much in the ‘OK’ realm of getting the job done. It frequently mounts itself on the bottom of desk or chair legs or gets tangled in cables and needs manual intervention, and can even get itself stuck on the divider between bathroom and hallway. The app is… Read more

so-so, though it does keep popping up with notifications in Chinese which I can’t really do anything about. The app also seems far more concerned with upselling me a new Deebot now (I’ve had it for 14 months) than adequately running the one I have now.

I got this as a gift to help with dog hair, and overall it does an adequate job. I’m not super impressed by it but it does mean I only need to vacuum myself once every two weeks instead of twice per week. The mopping function is pretty lacklustre. Considering this was acquired on sale at ALDI for a significantly reduced price, it seems like it was more a demo unit for folks wanting to try a Robovac than a serious unit.

Overall, I’d probably get a different brand with a better warranty if buying again.

Waste of money – This vacuum is a waste of money. The app constantly resets the map and wants me to re-map the house all over again. I’ve been trying to map it for the last 2 weeks, sometimes it will miss several rooms (doors opened and nothing in its way), sometimes it returns to charge but then says cleaning complete and it’s only mapped half the house. Today it… Read more

was literally going around in circles and zigzagging all over the place. There was nothing in its way. I’ll attach a photo. It’s not great at sucking up dog hair off our hard floors, it just pushes it around and leaves clumps of hair everywhere. On the carpet it misses a lot even with the suction on max. It’s been quite useless for us and I’m disappointed we wasted our money. UPDATE After more than a month they finally got back to me. So after going through all of the steps I was provided for troubleshooting, I’m still having issues with mapping and the machine still won’t suck anything up, it just spreads hair and dirt around area. Their reply is “we don’t have any new deebots, only spare parts” so can’t help us. So we’ve wasted hundreds of dollars on this machine that doesn’t work. The machines have to come from somewhere, if all they have is spare parts then who supplies the shops that sell these products? I will definitely be escalating this and leave reviews on other sites. What a horrible product and waste of money

Waste of Time and Money – Bought the Deebot 920 from Ecovacs Australia Official Store online. It only lasted 5 months. Was sent for repair interstate and came back with a different fault. Ecovac Deebot 900 - good until out of warranty, lasted 18 months – The great little robot cleans and mops well, on tiles and timber floors, we don't have carpet, as long as you keep wheels, sensor and brushes clean each week it will work really well. LDS sensor issues after 12 months, I pulled the cover off to clean the LDS sensor and then works well again, could not get rid of the error by cleaning it without… Read more

taking the cover off, which was a bit annoying. A few months later the robot is saying 'power me on before charging' even after being placed on the dock and powered on, Ecovac support just said send it back to Melbourne to get it checked and quoted for repair, they will not offer any service or diagnostic material, to get it fixed locally, so bottom line cost $800 lasted 18 months so $44 per month for sweeping and mopping the floor every day is not too bad I suppose. It is a shame my Deebot is really just fit for landfill now. Not very good product stewardship, maybe one day they will care enough about our environment and resources to make the product last a few more years.

Avoid - Complaint raised with Consumer Affair – My Ecovac Deebot 900 stopping working after 16 months. I contacted Ecovacs whose only offer was to repair the item at full to myself. As others have mentioned, avoid unless you are happy to pay top dollar for something with a limited life. Now have an outstanding complaint raised with Vic Consumer Affairs. Show details

A step above any other robotic vac I've had – Excellent vaccum cleaner. Quite, easy to use (app based) and does an excellent job of cleaning timber and a good job on carpet. Instead of a daily clean due to pets, I only have to run this one 3 times a week to get a good result. Still need the old pull vaccum once every so often, but in reality its about four times a year. Battery is… Read more

sufficient to clean a large house given that it maps the house (laser memory) and doesn't go over areas twice. Can have a little trouble transitioning from timber/tile to carpet, but at least the wheel doesn't burn a hole in the carpet like other brands. Can block out areas so that the vac avoids them (eg under cupboards where cords lurk. Super happy with this well made and executed product.

needs to recharge 4 times for a 67min clean only after 18 months – Let me start by saying yes, I am out of warranty. Having said that, I would expect the vacuum cleaner battery to last longer that 18 months especially given is regular but not very frequent use (notification for Side brushes replacement only just came up). Having paid $800 at Costco and not the $400 you get one for nowadays I was hoping to get a… Read more

little better service from Ecovacs but unfortunately nothing other that "Send it over, pay $100 and maybe more when we understand what's wrong"

It is pretty clear that the battery is dead and I have suggested for them to send me a battery and I'll replace it (only 4 screws), but they tell me they don't sell the batteries separately.

Deebot is the man – I have owned 2 iRobot machines previously (older models) and they were ok, but new models are crazy expensive. I started looking for reasonably priced machines with greats views and came across the Deebot - who is my new best mate. He is absolutely amazing - easy to operate, does a great job and never complains. Show details

Can't for the life of me set up the app – I had the Deboot 610 which I LOVED. Upgraded to the 900 and get nothing but errors trying to add it to the app. Doesn't come with a remote like the 610 so be buggered if I know how to use it without the app. Show details

Great technology but very little suction power – If you are after the ability to map, set virtual walls, send it to clean where you choose, control it by voice and see where its been then this one has all that and more. The problem is its suction power even on boost is average at best and its idea of mopping is just to wet the floor with a pad. I took mine back because i couldn't justify what I paid for it, especially as it took nearly a week to figure out how to map my house. Show details

Fantastic value robot vacuum that is able to keep up with a very messy household – From the start, I found this robot vacuum very easy to use. Simply download the app, set up it's charging dock and once it's ready, set it loose! WIth no change to the default settings, it managed to go between tile and carpet with no issues. A very robust robot that is able to traverse slightly uneven floor quite easily (be warned it can drive… Read more

over door sills and end up upside down outside.) The included mopping feature is great for a quick mop during the week doing a decent job.

The app is fantastic. Once your robot has mapped out your home (took mine 3 full runs) you can set virtual boundaries to limit where it does, or use the areas that it sets by itself for cleaning parts of your house.

Overall, for the price it performs exceptionally well, and I've no hesitation in buying a Deebot robot again in the future.

She's now a part of the family!!! – The Deebot 900 ( or as we like to call her, susan) is easy to fall in love with. It's cute, it's effective and it seems to love doing the vacuuming; which is a job I hate. It has a few quirks, and requires a bit of supervision, but overall it is a great machine. What we love about susan, its an Attractive piece of equipment , sleek design, app… Read more

Mapping is impressive and addictive to watch, Cleaning is good for your day to day clean ups.

What could be improved. Losing map data happens often and is annoying. Won't clean deep into carpets or rugs. Can get a bit confused with some obstacles, like around four legged chairs.

The tray that catches dirt has a 350ml capacity. I had to empty it a few times on first use as it did a full clean, but now the bin is definitely large enough for the daily run.

You will have to pick up all small sized objects off your floor before it starts it's clean, as it can get trapped and stop the cleaning process. So if you have small children with toys lying around its best to pick them all up before it is turned on. I have mine schedualed to clean at 9pm which gives me time to tidy up a bit first and to make sure thefe are no obstacles lying around.

Overall susan has been one of the best investments I've ever made. I promise you won't be disappointed

Deebot 600 is also a good robot vacuum cleaner – Hi everyone, We recently purchased an EchoVacs Deebot 600 and boy it is an impressive little robot it does a great job on our wooden floors and an Ok job on carpet. We have found that running this regularly in combination with a Dyson stick vac will mean your house is twice as free from dust with about half as much effort.

Overall well worth it.

I am in love with this machine – I got this Deebot 900 after using a cheap Kogan one for sometime, which I might add did a great job. I was concerned the Kogan one cleaned randomly and I wasn’t sure exactly what was cleaned. The Deebot connects to my phone and creates a map of the house and cleans every single area. It shades in every area on the app as it works it way around.… Read more

It is quite gentle as it approaches things it has to go around, it doesn’t bash into things quite so hard like the other one we had. I have all hard floors - no carpet and my house has never felt cleaner. You can set it off to clean while you are not at home via the app, and you can see exactly where it is at any time. It kept us amused the first time we set it off, it was good to see it going up and down so we knew it was doing it’s job. We are retired now so it really is a pure indulgence on our part, boy would I have loved this when I worked full time! There were a few negative comments on the mapping app when I was researching, but they have a new update now and we haven’t found any problems with this. Busy people will love this machine. It isn’t the cheapest one on the market but there are a lot more expensive ones than this, and after reading all I could find on them this one came out tops for us.
