Eight Sleep Pod 3 Cover with PerfectFit AU Queen

Best thing I have bought all year. Completely worth it! – So my wife likes the house and bedroom very warm and I prefer it cold and you can guess what temperature the room is permanently set to! I knew of electric blankets but came across an ad for a “chilipad” and a “bedjet”. One pumps cold (or hot) water through a mattress cover and the other blows cold air through a duvet. Since air is loud and… Read more · 1
impractical for two people, one of who is happy toasty, I bought the chilipad for my half of the bed and gave it a try. After 3 months it leaked all over my timber floor from the unit.
I saw they brought out a new model, the chilipad “ooler” more recently acquired by “sleepme”. It was a good product when it worked but I ended up going through 4 units in 3 years. 2 were warranty replacements which I appreciate. The last one I had also malfunctioned and was leaking, I had to run it within a tub so it leaked into the tub. The inside of the Ooler also gets dirty too and it was hard to clean.
I saw they had a new premium model launch, the sleep me dock pro with a removable tank. I ordered this and was expecting it to come before Christmas (within 4 weeks), the delivery estimate was 1 week. Well after 3 weeks they told me it was delayed and they didn’t know how long it would be till it arrives!
I then saw Eight Sleep which I had skipped before because of the price. I saw it could do both sides of the bed both cool and hot simultaneously and had smart tech in the cover so I thought I would bite the bullet, get the sleepme refunded and buy the eight sleep.
It came within 2 days! Took an hour to install. Felt significantly more premium than the ooler.
Anyway after a few days, I was completely shocked at how awesome this machine is. There is so many pros with this thing to mention.
- In the 1 year I’ve had it, no leaks at all - I have changed the water 3 times, it cleans itself. - In has tracked my heart rate and a bunch of health metrics and pushed them to Apple health - It gives me super cool insights into how I sleep, what phase of sleep I’m in etc - It automatically changes temperature throughout the night based on the parameters you give it and it can warm or cool in the morning to wake you up - it can actually softly vibrate on your side of the bed to wake you up. - The app is flawless. - Their customer support has been brilliant. - Overall my sleep quality is better and my bed is nice and cool without me having to put it anywhere near its maximum.
If any new versions come out, I’ll be first to buy it. I can’t recommend this any higher. The only downsides are the price, it is a very large cost and while I do believe it is worth it value wise, the price makes it unaffordable for the majority but I do believe if you plan to buy a competing device, it will end up costing you more in the long run. The other downside for me is that it doesn’t cool the underside of the pillow. They explained to me this is on purpose and for health reasons but I do like a cool pillow!
So, if you are looking for a bed cooling device this is 100% the one to get (and it warms too of course simultaneously but if you just need warming, get an electric blanket).
