the bed and mattress were to the floor, especially as, in previous questions to EMMA Customer Service, I had been quoted a height which was more suited to our needs. My wife and I are both in our late seventies, have severe Arthritis, unstable knees and otherwise reduced mobility. The bed is so low as to put us both at risk of falling when trying to get into, or out of, bed, especially during the night, in the dark. I was seriously considering returning the package when we decided to order a Diamond Topper, which we calculated would raise the sleeping surface to a more acceptable height, which it did. With the Topper on the bed, we are now able to get in, or out of bed at greatly reduced risk of falling and sustaining injury. The Topper is comfortable enough but has presented another, unforeseen problem: because of the bed's thickly padded headboard, the Topper does not align with the head end of the mattress, and projects some two inches or so past the foot of the bed. This misalignment makes it difficult to make the bed properly and means that fitted sheet and mattress protector do not properly cover the Topper and Mattress. In frustration, I have often wondered if, because the Topper was purchased only to correct the height anomaly, if we would be better placing the Topper directly onto the bed frame and then putting the mattress on top of it - this, of course, is not something we have actually done, but the bed would be much easier to make, and be no less comfortable to sleep on. Any advice would be appreciated.

original mattress. I reached to Emma to initiate the return of the mattress topper, as per their advertised 100-night trial and free return policy. Emma's response included instructions to photograph the topper's tags and care labels, than remove the tags and take more photos and either dispose of or donate the topper while documenting (taking photos) of the process. As Emma prefers not to accept returned goods , instead opting for disposal or donation (which you have to organize), they should reconsider advertising 'Free Returns'. When I failed to respond promptly to Emma's email with all the instructions, Emma's Team sent me a follow up email, warning me that if I did not reply within next 48 hours the matter would be considered resolved. I suggest Emma's Team consider the possibility of customers having busy lives, as a nurse I work 4 consecutive 12 hour night shifts per week limiting me what I can do during the day. Following the completion of all necessary steps and submission of required photos to Emma Team I was informed via email that my refund had been initiated with an estimated processing time of 2-7 business days. However upon not receiving the refund after two weeks I recontacted Emma Team and was told to allow another 10-15 business days for processing my refund. Feeling frustrated with the delayed response from Emma Team, I escalated the matter by filing complaint with PayPal, which promptly led to the refund being issued.

Talk to customer care before you buy to get the best suit for you – This is both a customer care review as well as a product review. 5 stars for both. THe diamond topper was too firm for me. I could not sleep on it for that reason. I contacted customer care who sent me out a softner for free. I put the softner inside the topper cover. My topper is now very comfortble. Pleasantly Surprised and Happy – We bought this to give new life to an ageing (but still comfortable) mattress and have been pleasantly surprised. It is very comfortable and the quality seems fine (but we have no other topper brand to compare it with.) The topper also helps keep body warmth in the bed.
