Worst customer experience and first time I get scammed – Purchased a “Kuberg Cross Hero 2020” in July 2020 for $2,600. Upon collecting the bike, we realised the seller operate from his cluttered residential garage, no shopfront here. Batteries were nearly dead straight out of the box and the seller would not respond to calls, texts or emails. When contacted directly, Kuberg informed that our bike was in fact built in 2017 i.e., 3 years prior to what advertised by the seller - no surprise the batteries were shot. In September 2021, the seller eventually conceded in writing “I’ll arrange a fresh set of batteries sent to you. I should have them to you by early next week." More than 3 years later and many calls, texts and emails, the seller still has neither provided replacement batteries nor apologised for his false advertising and faulty product. This case is now handled by the Office of Fair Trading. All experiences differ but in mine this seller has demonstrated a total absence of integrity, honesty, and accountability. Lesson learnt, never again.
