Worst vacuum cleaner - not worth the money paid for! – Very difficult to use, does not pick up any long hair on the carpet. After vacuuming, the floor still feels dirty. Electrical cord won't retract after only a couple of months of use. Quite disappointed with the quality, definitely will not buy Electrolux vacuum cleaner again. Should have purchased a Dyson.
Alot of issues – I paid a lot for this machine, but have nearly paid that again in replacement parts. Im about to get my 2nd turbo head, (luckily it was under warranty for the first), onto my 3rd wand all due to the electrical connectors. Is an awesome machine when it works on carpets. It picks up dog hair with ease but is crap on hard floors, so bad that I just… Read more
sweep and mop now. I would never buy another Electrolux, as the quality has definitely gone down hill over the years.
Same issues with Electrolux Oxy3System (with bag) – I have found the same problem with the heads. Especially does not work well on hard floors. Suction is good, but nothing gets picked up due to poor head and fragile wand. It is my second electrolux oxygen (at the time of purchase, I paid the same as a Dyson was worth through Godfreys). Was told it was better. ??? Never again.
Hi Dissapointed, Electrolux here. We are sorry to… Read more
Killed by a 5 cent part – Well this is a great cleaner, except the power-head copper electrical connector in the wand breaks after a couple of years. The part is worth about 5 cents, but you have to replace the whole wand for $100. It's a terrible design fault and Electrolux couldn't care less, if their service centres are anything to go by. We won't be buying another. … Read more
Just about to pick up our third wand from the net. This will be the last time, but you've got to get some payback on the initial outlay. It works nicely for the short time that it works. Rendered useless by a catastrophic and unnecessary design flaw.
Love this vacuum! – This is a very good vacuum, it's quiet for the high 2100watts, compact for a full size machine, handy carry handle on top, long cord, two hepa filters. I use a lot of different vacuums and this one has a lot of suction, great for deep down carpet cleaning. I love using this!!! I bought the blue one in the picture that has the 3 speed dial and… Read more
no annoying remote control or power head or complicated bits to go wrong, in the 4 or 5 years i have had it it hasnt missed a beat and had no faults. Indicator lights for changing bag or changing filters, the pre motor filter is a HEPA 13 filter, also the exhaust filter is a HEPA filter but is permanent and doesn't need to be changed as it ony collects the carbon exhausted from the motor. It has soft air diffusion whereby the exhaust is through lots of holes around the exterior so there is no "blast" of air from the exhaust.
My complaints are that the pre-motor HEPA filter can get tears sucked in it, it is too fragile, i have replaced 3 filters prematurely because of tearing despite not being dirty! Also, the bag compartment is smaller than most s-bags so you cannot use all the bag as it doesnt unfold. High suction, nice design and build quality, good filtration, twin HEPA filters, long cord. HEPA filter a little fragile
Never Again – I purchased the Electrolux Oxygen in 2008 for serval hundred dollars. Although rated highly by Choice, shortly after purchasing, the power head stopped working. The option for 'full power' now does not work and the cost to repair will be several hundred dollars. This was used normally on carpet and hard surfaces. The power head was great when it worked Did not work well on hard floors. Unreliable.
Love this vacuum cleaner but deadly it keeps breaking down !! Not quite 4 yrs old and have had 2 floor tools now a piece of pipe needs replacing $315
engine blew up – I was very happy with this vacuum cleaner, but after 4 years the engine blew up. To get this fixed would cost $280. The repair guy said he sees a lot of Electrolux vacuum cleaners come in for repairs. This vacuum cleaner did work very well and was easy to use, change bags and filters. We have a dog and it managed to pick up the dog hairs without… Read more
any problems. It was also a reasonable quiet machine. Power, easy to use, long cord. Cord does not wind back properly, engine blew up after only 4 years of normal use.
Good – We bought this after a horrible, underpowered LG vacuum and have been very pleased. Long cord is great. Its power and cleaning performance is relatively good but I have not had other high end vacuums. It cleans our carpet, tiles and wood flooring without any problems. We don't have any pets so I can't comment on fur pickup. I recommend it. Manoeuvrable, controls on handle, quiet, long power cable Tools in handle fall out
Excellent – Bought mine in October 2008. I am 100% satisfied with the performance. I always use it with suction power settings to auto. I find it works best in that settings. Our place is double storey. Downstairs with tiles and upstairs with carpet. Carrying the vacuum cleaner is a bit of work, then again I haven't used any other powerful vacuum cleaner to… Read more
compare with. It has got few flaws as I mentioned in "Cons" and literally those are the only cons. Considering money ($468) vs performance, It cleans perfectly both carpet and tiles when turbo head is clean. If I find it's not cleaning properly, that means it time for cleaning the turbo head.
I wish they provided with some cleaning mechanism for the turbo head (rotating brush catches long hair and threads).
Overall, I LOVE my Electrolux oxygen :D :D :D Powerful suction, long cord, turbo head. Easy to clean both carpet and hard floor. Cleaning corners is easy. Power control is on handle (very handy). Winding cord toward end does not work always. No on board accessories holder. Hair and threads (I sew at home) get stuck in the rotating brush which requires cleaning about once in two months.
Good – Besides the hose popping out of the main unit, I have no problem with my vaccy. I find it does it's job and does it well. I expected my hair to wrap around the turbo head as this is something that happens to all turbo heads on the market. I love it. It's strong suction. You have a choice whether you want it on auto suction where it regulates how… Read more
stong a suction you need on each surface or max or min suction. It's turbo head. A good filter. It tells you when you need to replace the bag or filter. I have long hair so that tends to clog the turbo head up but that is very easy to clean out. The hose tends to pop out of the main vacuum unit when i am pulling it along slow surfaces. The cord can have issues winding all the the way in.
Terrible – We have the model before this I think the Z5935. We bought it as we needed a Hepa filter and we thought that Electrolux was a reliable brand. They may have improved this current model but I would want to see a demo. It has a HEPA filter. Changing the bag and cleaning the filter is easy. Comes with good attachments. Totally agree with the other… Read more
review this cleaner does not even pick up crumbs or dust well on hard floors, and carpets forget about it. All the cleaning head manages to do is push the dust around. This means that to clean carpet you need to push all the dirt into one spott and then try and suck it up, hopeless.
It has a special function on the head for picking up animal fur (another reason we bought it) this does nothing.
Bad – Tried to get a new power head but after two months still waiting. Getting rid of it - never again will I buy an Electrolux vacuum cleaner. I only like the size and look of it. Suction is pretty good. Power head constantly tangles with hair and have to clean it after every use. It also scratches my wooden floors. The quality brush nozzle is poorly made. Keeps clogging. The power cord stops winding in as it gets closer to the end.
