Shocking – I have had this straightener for 1 month and it has been nothing but problems. Makes me wonder if these reviews are even real. It's burnt my hair, takes forever to straighten and sometimes when turning on it's releasing a burning plastic type smell from inside the hair straightener and some smoke. I'm scared to use it and it's not even worth using because it does a terrible job. Avoid it girls!

Fantastic Prodcut! Can't live without it – I've had my Elkie for 3 years now and I use it everyday. Best investment I have ever made. I know other people who had GHDs for less time and have already had problems with them! Reliable, A lot cheaper than the GHD and straightens my hair better than any other!

Excellent – Definately recommend this product. It has a 30 day try-it offer so you can try it at home. Price Attack staff can also try it in store on your hair if you just ask for their advice. Love that it's $100 cheaper than the GHD but achieves the same result! I got mine at Price Attack with a free oil. It comes in a pack which is great - thermal pack, sectioning clips, paddle brush etc. Good gift pack. It heats quick and glides nicely without pulling at hair. I also love that it's light on the hand and can be used to curl, flick , lift etc as well as straightening. Really pleased with this and recommend it. it's often forgotten about because people know GHD name more. However elkie is $100 cheaper so it's a way better deal.

Excellent – Great - have only purchased recently, but am impressed. I have fine/thin hair which is shoulder length and this does a good job making it look healthy and smooth. Plates not too wide either, which is good for fine hair. I recommend using the lower heat setting if you have similar hair. Great for fine hair - can turn down the heat setting. Professional straightened look. Hair soft and sleek after use. Takes a while to cool down.

Excellent – LOVE this straightener. Fast heating up and works brilliantly on my hair. Adjustable settings are great and love the safety time out switch. Heats fast, adjustable heat settings, safety time out switch.
