Ellenby Tree Farm

First time customer – My wife and I are getting on in years (old) and we needed to replace a mature tree at the house we purchased 3 years ago. Because of our age, we needed to purchase two advanced trees so that we can get some of the pleasure. We originally dealt with Jacqui, ( sorry about the spelling) and she was brilliant. We picked out the two trees we wanted and arranged delivery for a few weeks later to allow us to go on a pre booked inter state trip. Well, today the trees came, delivered by Patrick. He was also great to deal with. The rest is now up to us and, with the instruction pamphlet we were given, the trees should thrive. Many thanks Ellenby Tree Farm.
Top notch after care service – Purchased a Calodendrum Capense about a year and a half ago from Ellenby Tree Farm, the staff were very helpful with helping us pick what we needed. The tree was doing fine up until this summer, when we noticed it did not grow back many of its leaves and did not flower, so we tried a few things for ourselves to no avail. My wife said why don't you give where we purchased the tree from a call. I was a bit reluctant as I thought they wouldn't be interested in helping us, quite the contrary they were extremely helpful. The manager Ric took the time to email instructions, to help our tree back from the brink. Ric asked me to keep him informed of the trees progress. Top notch service if you ask me. Thankyou Ric and Cassandra for all your help and expertise. I would definitely recommend your business and will be happy to purchase from you again in the near future..
Don't waste your time or money; overpriced and your tree won't grow – We bought our tree from Ellenby as a memorial tree for our dog who passed away. We followed all planting and care instructions however the tree did not seem healthy. We sought advice a few times from Ellenby and followed their advice each time. We continued to plant out our native garden and planted another 5 trees, this time from $20 seedlings. Within a year, the $20 seedling had overtaken the tree farm's tree in height, canopy and health. The seedlings need next to nothing compared to the tree farm tree. Disappointing after spending so much time and money on the tree from Ellenby.
This is not the memorial tree that we hoped for and we will now have to dig out the "established tree" and replace it. Picture 1 is the tree farm tree that cost over $300, picture 2 is the $20 seedling we planted a year ago- bigger, healthier and used way less resources.
