I bought these lights a few years ago and they definitely outlasted anything I have bought anywhere else. They have worked reliably but recently the plastic covers failed from uv and let water in. I contacted Paul and true to his word he sent out replacement lights for all my faulty ones and more. Obviously these lights can’t last forever but This company is an example of great follow up service and stand by their products.

I love my festoon lights and have 5 sets. I have had them for a number of years, they look amazing and stay on most of the night in Summer. Recently I had a problem with some of them. The problem has quickly been rectified, I can’t recommend them enough. Great product and great customer service .

I’m here to give a glowing review for these fabulous lights! They are absolutely lit! They are bright wellmade and look great. Delivery was swift and I could not fault the customer service. Will definitely be adding more to my project If you’re thinking about purchasing these lights I suggest you glow for it!

Fantastic service and festoons – I purchased path lights . I wasn’t happy with the product in the fact a few didn’t work and not as bright as I thought. I contacted Paul and true to his word he changed them for me with photos I sent . I didn’t want the same lights , asked if I could change to the festoons. I have since bought 12 sets of festoons for family and friends . Paul’s customer service is outstanding and reply’s almost instantly .

Festoon lights – I had previously got festoon lights from Bunnings but they were not quite bright so we decided to return. I decided to order a set of festoon light from Solar Garden and I must say that the product has certainly exceeded our expectations as they are very bright and keeps our backyard glowing. I would certainly recommend this product and look forward to order more in future.

Solo garden lights – Purchased online- arrived well protected and speedy delivery, all items present Ground lights, spring lights-had to share these with my family as they raided my garage before I got them all up, they look spectacular and are easy to install.

Love these lights. Strong bright light. Definitely worth the price. Highly recommend! I’ve now bought the Spotlights and Festoon Lights as well which are also amazing. I like the remote that comes with the Festoon Lights.

The products I purchased, (outdoor ground Led and strip light) are smartly designed, fabricated with high quality. The after sale assistance is fast, amazingly efficient and just unbeatable. Really disappointed. We were sent generic, made in china lights. We returned these immediately as what was provided did not meet the description.

I purchased several packs of SolaGarden LED ground lights and festoon lights in November 2025, totalling around $520 after discount. stopped working due to water or condensation getting inside the units. This makes them unsuitable for genuine outdoor Australian conditions.

SolaGarden has offered replacements under their lifetime guarantee. However, I have no confidence these will perform any better than the originals, and I don’t want to be repeatedly requesting replacements every few months. I would much prefer a full refund so I can invest in higher-quality lighting that is actually built to last.

If you’re looking for reliable outdoor solar lighting, I would look elsewhere.

Complete scam site… these products are NOT of a higher quality as advertised. Just drop shipped junk from China. Ground lights are $8.35 for 12 of them.

As you can see, their markup is astronomical, which explains how they can just replace them for you when they inevitably break in a few months. It’ll take years of replacements before they’d take a loss, and by then most people would just give up with the process.

Such a scammy & unethical business model SMH.

My festoon lights arrived surprisingly quickly. Unfortunately one of the globes didn't seem to work so I emailed them. I received a response almost immediately which was a surprise as it was late afternoon. They gave me a simple fix to try before proceeding with a return, and it worked. The lights look bright and sparkling and have transformed our patio area.

and create the most gorgeous star like effect. We have already had so many compliments from family and friends since hanging the first 2 sets. One of the sets we have hung have stopped working. I emailed Solargarden regarding the problem and within 30 minutes of sending the email Paul emailed saying a replacement set have been dispatched.

I initially ordered with confidence from Solagarden after reading all of the positive reviews on line and researching fairy lights at bunnings. The bunnings reviews are terrible, so I went ahead and ordered from Solagarden. I am so happy that I placed my trust in Solagarden and highly recommend anyone thinking of ordering from them to go ahead and order with the confidence of knowing that they are valued and if there is a problem, Paul will get back to you ASAP and will back his products.

The lights sell themselves, but I will also be recommending anyone I speak to in future, family and friends to purchase through Solagarden.

reviews especially from people who have only just installed them. They are NOT rainproof. All failed from moisture entry and are now binned.

We’ve now gone through three sets of Solagarden festoon lights in just a couple of years - the last two failing just a few months within the warranty period. Each time we’ve been told the replacement was a “brand new version,” yet every set has failed despite proper installation, plenty of slack, no direct sun damage and no interference from trees… Read more

The first time the lights broke, they were just outside the warranty period and we were told we had to pay for a brand-new set - which we did. We’ve now paid for this product twice, covered installation costs three separate times and wasted hours chasing the company for a resolution.

When we requested a refund (which we are entitled to under Australian Consumer Law for goods not of acceptable quality), the response was simply: “We can’t process a refund. We’ll send another replacement.” That’s not acceptable. Customers shouldn’t be expected to replace faulty lights every few months forever.

It’s telling that many other reviewers report the exact same failures. We held back from posting a negative review after the first and second failures, hoping things would improve - but clearly the quality issues are ongoing.

Save yourself the frustration (and money!) - look elsewhere for festoon lights that actually last.

said they would replace all of them! Wow! What company does that!?

So - I opted to forgo replacement of the strip lights and instead with their permission, switch to the equivalent value I’d paid, and got some deck lights. See the first 3 pictures for these. So far, l’m very happy with these. They give off a reasonable degree of light and make navigation around the back part of my house easier.

The festoon lights themselves weren’t replaced but the solar panels were. The newer ones come with a remote control which allows you to choose for the lights to glow for 3 hours or 5, at either 25, 50, 75 or 100% brightness. I’ve set mine to shine for 5 hours at 75%, and while they shone for 5 hours initially when I switched over, they have since dropped back after only a few weeks and stay lit up for around the 3 hour mark. The solar panel is in full sunlight so I know not getting adequate sunlight isn’t the issue. To be honest, I’m disappointed that they don’t stay alight for the 5 hours I’ve selected. The lights when lit up, do look fantastic though. See pictures 4 & 5.

I’ve held off re-installing the replacement Ground lights at this stage as am going to relocate them to a different area of the garden once some outside garden area work has been completed. I know from the previous ones, that when glowing, these look fabulous. Sadly, they still have the plastic ground spike which I don’t believe loans itself to longevity. It would be far better if Solargarden considered switching these to metal spikes.

Overall, I absolutely cannot fault the follow up service. I would have to say a 10/10 for not only contacting me so many months after my initial purchase but also offering to replace all lights purchased. I would say service like that doesn’t happen too often. Thanks Solagarden.

DECEMBER 2024 - 1 Star Rating

I purchased Solagarden brand Festoon lights, LED Ground light pack and the SolaGarden 5 metre LED strip lights last year - & I REGRET HAVING WASTED MY MONEY!

Why? 1. Design: The LED Ground light pack comes with a plastic spike to insert into the ground. One or two of these spikes snapped off the first time I went to put them in the ground - which was soft at the time! I contacted the company and they absolutely replaced them instantly but the fact remains that as the spike is made from plastic and not metal, it provides the weak point and several more spikes have since snapped off.

Light brightness - very bright light and they did initially look good in the garden, but 12 months later, only 2 of the initial 6 or 8 that I bought (I can’t recall exact number that I bought) remain working and only for a few hours each night at that!

If the construction was changed from a plastic spike to a metal one, this light would be longer lasting.

2. Festoon lights - I bought 2 sets. Despite the solar panel being in a position to receive the full impact of the sun’s rays for charging, these lights only ever work for about 3 hours a night, including in summer. In winter, they are lucky to shine for about 1 hour a night. When out, they do look lovely, it’s just a shame that they don’t glow for long!

By contrast, my 4 year old much cheaper Aldi solar lights (which I paid ~$20 / set) light up on darkness and stay twinkling until around 5am!! Some of my Aldi solar lights still have their original replaceable battery while other sets, I have since replaced the battery to keep them glowing!

3. 5 metre LED strip lights - before I bought these, I contacted Solagarden and asked them if these lights would adhere to my new wooden retaining wall down my laundry side, and was assured that yes, they would.

Let me tell you that they don’t!! I tried a test section and noticed that most of the “stick” seemed to be on the removable backing tape and not on the actual product which clearly didn’t have enough sticking factor to work so consequently I didn’t bother removing the protective backing from any more of it, so probably 4,75 metres of the original 5 metres of length, remains brand new, unused in the box it came in, gathering dust in a cupboard.

Although I initially reached out to [Name Removed] at Solagarden about this, due to an unexpected and prolonged illness plus other circumstances, I missed replying to his email in a timely manner and so therefore also missed the window for returning the products for a refund.

My recommendation for these lights is don’t buy them if you are looking for long lasting solar lighting. You will get only a few hours of lighting each night! I paid a lot of money for these lights and for a minuscule fraction of the price, would have been better spending my money on the Aldi solar lights!
