What a piece of Sh*t! – Very very disappointing oven. I did not buy this oven as it was in the house when we bought it. And I would definitely not recommend this oven to anyone else I come across either. The temperature dial is really just a laughable piece of adornment to try and trick you into thinking that inside the oven might be somewhere near what the dial is… Read more

actually set to. I have had to use a temperature gauge and hang it inside the oven to better understand the trickery of what lies somewhere in between the dial and the thermostat. Also the torch method is a actual fact of trying to cook with what they claim to be a "oven" The handle has fallen off the front of it now aswell as the "metal look" (plastic) handle is mearly glued together rather then actual metal screws or even a full metal handle. And I'm sure everyone can imagine just how three pieces of plastic glued together to use as a handle for a bloody hot glass gas oven door would be... Also you cannot use the electric grill top at the same time as the gas bottom either so there's no conventional cooking to be done. Only gas bottom or only electric element top. And the fan setting is a bit of a token as it turns on and off automatically once the oven either gets to or falls bellow a certain temperature anyway by itself.

Either way I would not recommend this item to anyone!

Please, if someone is willing to change my mind on this "oven" then I am willing to hear any positives about it...

Does the job – Bought this model simply because there was a very limited choice in the 80cm oven market. Have had this oven since January this year and have been reasonably satisfied. Compared to my previous oven which was about 20 years old and on it's last legs, obviously the new oven would naturally seem brilliant. In so far as function and form are… Read more

concerned, the oven fitted in the available space with no problems. It required professional plumbers to fit but although costly, they did a pretty good job. Operating the oven is very straight forward and simple and easy to use. The timer is tricky to use and must admit I haven't mastered it yet.

The oven itself seems to work well, it heats perhaps a little below the selected temperature but it warms up rather quickly. There's a slight vibrating sound from the fan when that option is selected which lasts for a couple of minutes then it goes away. Haven't really roasted anything in it as yet so will allow a little extra time than the recommended times. The oven door seems to seal well as it closes firmly with no apparent heat leakage.

Haven't used the grill so am unable to offer any comments. However, would assume it would function adequately.

The main disappointment is the effort required to clean the cook top surface. It stains easily and cleaning requires quite a bit of elbow grease. However, I have found that despite using a raft of cleaning agents, the most effective is while oil which seems to work a treat.

The grates and burners also mark very easily and are nearly impossible, at least for the burners, to clean to a spotless condition. In fact the burners were stained from simple use and without any spillage on them. It's as if they weren't coated in heat resistant paint. Obviously the quality isn't quite there sadly.

There's a storage space at the bottom of the oven that's ideal for trays etc., so they don't have to be left in the oven itself.

In summary, for a product at that price level, it does the job. It might not be a top quality product in the areas it falls down in but for me I find it satisfactory overall at this stage.

The worst oven I’ve ever used – There were only 3 options on the market that fit the gap we had to fill to replace an old oven when we bought our house. We went with this one and I cannot emphasise enough how much we wish we had just chosen a different brand instead. The cooktop is great, but the oven is completely useless. When using the electric oven, even if you add 40… Read more

degrees, things take at least double the time to cook. The gas oven is slightly better but not by much. For a simple example, when cooking frozen oven chips (with nothing else in the oven!) we have to add 40 degrees, and about 50% extra time. We’ve had a technician out from Glem Gas who measured the oven while empty and said the thermostat is working perfectly but the proof is in the (very undercooked) pudding in this case.

For such an expensive oven, I don’t understand how it can be SO bad. It’s an endless source of frustration in our household and will speed up our need to renovate our kitchen purely to replace it.

As an aside re aesthetics, we found that the blue protective plastic that it came wrapped in couldn’t be fully removed. The company told us it would shrink when we used the oven and eventually disappear. 6 months on after near-daily use, we can still see blue plastic poking out the side.

Highly recommend the cooker, great customer service – We purchased the cooker in 2010 and are very pleased with the after sales service offered by Emilia. We needed a new oven door seal in 2012 and 2016 and oven door hinges in 2017. In each instance we received prompt responses to our enquiries. We were given a free upgraded oven door seal in 2016 and purchased a pair of oven door hinges direct… Read more

Excellent stove top and oven, but gas problems after using electric grill – Had this oven for about a year, and there are no hot spots/cool spots in the oven. The sizes of the trivets range from small for an excellent slow simmer to the centre full fish burner. Only issue is that if you use the electric grill function, there seems to be a safety function whereby gas can't be used. The only way we can get the oven or stove… Read more

top to work is to leave the gas turned on and wait for it to start flowing.....quite a scary thing as it takes approx half a minute! The small gas burner actually works for a slower simmer, unlike many others that are still too high. Can't get gas functions to work after using electric grill function

Excellent value, well supported by Glem Gas – We've had this stove now for just on a year and its been excellent. The oven cooks evenly, and the cooktop burners give out a very even heat - gone are the days of burning one side of the pot when doing stews and the like. We've had only one problem - a failed timer unit - but Glem Gas, the local supplier, fixed it quickly and efficiently under… Read more

warranty with never a word of dispute as to fault. Glem Gas was also able to supply us with extended-length legs at a very reasonable price (we have a high benchtop and the original legs didn't enable us to make the top of the stove level with the benchtop). It would be hard to find a more helpful supplier and a more pleasing stove. For a fan-forced unit, this has been very frugal with electricity usage

Stay away - 2nd lemon – This model oven is 800mm wide so we have no option but to have it. The oven you have when you don't use an oven – I purchased this product only because there was a limited choice of brands that manufactured free standing gas ovens with an 800ml width specification. The oven looks quite attractive, cooks evenly and the gas hob ignition works well, but unfortunately that's where it ends. It is badly designed and cheaply constructed: the stainless steel, enamel… Read more

and steel oven trays, trivets and hob frames are of low grade quality making cleaning extremely difficult and time consuming; the light buttons that indicate the oven is on fall out regularly, the exterior of the oven over heats to such an extent that I need to leave the cupboard next to the oven open whilst cooking to prevent a build up of condensation inside the cupboard. In fact I try to use the oven as little as possible and I love to cook. Verdict if you use an oven on a regular basis this brand is definitely not for you.

Rendered useless – I've had this oven for six years and have had three hinge replacements and the glass door has exploded and been replaced. Sadley hardly used now as the door won't close properly and lets all the heat out when cooking. I'm not paying again for the hinges to be replaced as we've put new ones in and the door still doesn't seal properly so it's clearly an fault with the oven housing and not the hinges  Show details

Don't buy one – Dismayed to see so many here echoing our experience. We have had so much repair work done (thank goodness for warranty) but the oven is still deeply unsatisfactory. has NEVER reached or held its temperature. It tracks around 40C below what is on the dial, and takes more than 40min to heat. And yet my cupboards either side of the oven and their handles are too hot to touch if you have cooked for more than an hour. No major complaints with the cooktop - although the rectangular element seems to cook unevenly. I stopped trying to cook family meals in it or do any important baking long ago. Kicking myself for building our kitchen around an 80cm gap for it - as this will seriously limit our options for a replacement, as I know we will surely need to do whenever we can afford it. The Good Guys were fantastic in the first part of our warranty, and I am so grateful that they advised me (strongly) to take out extended warranty when we purchased. I normally say 'No, thanks' - but it has proved essential.

clock working it is confusing to read the manual and the timer setting and alarm work on the same settings so it is just a waste of electricity. I have had the ignition fixed on the top plate replaced it stopped igniting and I had to light stove top plates manually, Harvey Norman were fantastic and it was fixed within a 2 week period of breaking down that was 3months ago and now to my surprise I am lighting the bottom of the stove. Ignition broken again. I am having to pull the bottom of the stove out to light manually. I have also found that if you knock the knobs on the top gas is leaking out and surface rust is already showing in middle wok element. So I rang Harvey Norman today, they are so supportive and are doing a follow up but it begs the question why should I have a stove that I paid so much money for break so often in less than a year. Is the brand/ oven faulty or have I bought a lemon

Hopefully calibrating the flow has fixed the problem.
