Terrible customer service / support $220.00 call out charge & couldn't even diagnose whether the fault was a warranty claim or not. Then they wanted $995.00 to come back to determine whether it actually would be a warranty claim! Took over 1 month for Energy Air to supply a simple invoice for the purchase / install of the unit too! Would never use these cowboys again! Daikin supplied details of another repairer who charged no call out & no up front payment to determine the problem.
Shoddy workmanship in AirCon drain installation – The workmanship of this company which installed a large ducted Daikin air conditioner in my home was shocking. 1. The drain from the unit to the guttering was installed in such a way that the roof tiles did not sit flush and therefore let driving rain into the roof space. 2. The main drain taking water from the AirCon unit had a cobbled together "U" bend using small pvc pipe fittings which did NOT allow any service of this drain. The build up of sludge over time could not be seen or removed without cutting/destroying the pipe, and was only identified when the drain blocked and water overflowed into the ceiling. 3. And further, the emergency drain from the tray under the internal AirCon unit was not sealed with a waterproof join. This emergency drain failed to operate as required when the main drain blocked, causing water to flow from the tray directly into the roof space, causing damage to the ceilings.
When the matter was raised in 2025, the company dismissed this poor workmanship as of no concern to them, as the issue was discovered just past the warranty period. The original installation service in 2017 was not up to a basic standard and the two drains as installed did not perform as expected. This was in breach of the Australian Consumer Law, but the company wasn't interested in rectifying the failings. They were, however, brazen enough to ask for payment to repair it - as if.
