Great mechanic! Helpful, quick & genuine – Took my VW to Thomas for a diagnosis and he was really helpful! He charged what I would consider a normal amount for the time it took to try and figure out what's going on with my car, he's still helping us to diagnose it now. I really don't understand why the reviews are so all over the place here? Sure he's not a super fake/cheerful "salesman"… Read more
type of person but if you give him respect and space to think he seems happy to help you fix the issues! He's the first mechanic to actually take the time to explain to me what we're looking at and what the issue with my car is as well as talking me through the process of getting to the root cause of the problem & also sharing advice on what cars I should consider next. 5/5 stars!
Never again! – Never again will I return to this Mechanic. [Name Removed] has a bad reputation in Noosa for overcharging customers and being dishonest/rude .Every bill had peculiar add-ons to increase the price like $50 battery test or $80 solvents. The last time I ever used this mechanic I was charged over $1000 for labour and a part that was still broken and had never been replaced, as I found out later. He's that bad he's had to hide his google reviews!
Had a great experience! – I took my VW Golf into European car diagnostic center with starting problems, the owner asked me when I could leave it with him for a few hours to look my car over and run some tests. I booked it in for the following day dropped it of on my lunch break picked it up after work. Upon pick up he had let me know it was the starter motor that was… Read more
failing, he had quotes ready for me for a new starter motor,
the price was a bit high but I had asked for all VW original parts so wasn't too surprised.
The owner ordered the part in and finished the job within two days.
When I arrived to pick up my car I saw that he had washed it and cleaned my car, it was a great surprise.
The owner kept to the original quote and explained everything to me so that I knew how it went even showing me the old part.
Will most definitely be going back for all my future services and any problems.
Specialist burns my starter motor – I drove my Audi to ECDC as I was having trouble starting it. As I recently replaced my battery I assumed problems with the starter motor. I asked the owner (who is also the mechanic) what it would cost to replace my car's starter motor. He quoted me $150-$200 for labour (which is a 1.2hr activity, according to Ultratune's manyfacturer's guide). I… Read more
also asked for a full quote: for him to look up the cost for the part, and availability as well. After hesitating... I offered $40 (instead of the requested $50) to analyse my car's problem, to ensure the starter motor was really the cause of the starting problem. The owner/mechanic jumped in the car and repeatedly tried to start the car, without letting the key spring back to the start position. After trying to start using this technique at least 5 times, smoke was coming from underneath the bonnet. Opening the bonnet, there was a strong burnt electrical smell! (FYI: A starter is meant to engage only long enough to turn the flywheel and crank the engine. If a driver turns the key in the ignition for longer than this takes, the starter motor is forced to continue operating. Although doing this once or twice won't burn out the starter, doing it repeatedly could do damage). Because the starter was continually engaged by the mechanic - using the above described technique - the starter motor burnt as a result! Outcome: I drove to ECDC to have a European car specialist look at why the car wasn't starting properly... and had to tow the car a few days later (as the car didn't start at all anymore)! Needless to say that [Name Removed] didn't get back to me with a full quote for parts and labour, after pulling this stunt. I never heard from him... Lesson learned: Read reviews online about businesses & mechanics, before you let them touch your car. And... always ask for a written quote that describes in detail what services and parts (including brand) you are going be charged for, before having the car fixed.

cleaned inside and out they even washed the engine and under body, for no charge. I forgot to tell them that my left rear tyre looses slightly air and my washer nozzle was not spraying properly nozzle was adjusted and valve on the tyre was replaced just impressive
Dishonest – Unfortunately, I ended up taking my car to this mechanic. Every bill had peculiar add-ons to increase the price like $50 battery test or $80 solvents. The last time I ever used this mechanic I was charged over $1000 for labour and a part that was still broken and had never been replaced, as I found out later.
Extremely expensive – $450 for the diagnosis of some engine noise, and the resulting change of oil in the power-steering pump. I am used to paying more for service on my European model, but surely that is a bit excessive in everyone's book!
