I have been diagnosed with alopecia areata and female pattern hair loss. I don’t have bald patches but noticeable thinning of hair over just a two month period. I also have pain in the areas of thinning but my GP and dermatologist don’t believe it’s related to each other. My dermatologist has prescribed Minoxidil and a topical steroid lotion. I am too scared to try the Minoxidil yet but have used the topical lotion and that has significantly reduced the hair shedding. My hairdresser has recommended the Evolis shampoo and conditioner but only had the conditioner in stock. I am using Nizoral and Selsun Gold shampoos but will try the Evolis conditioner. Can you advise whether there could be any adverse reactions by combining these treatments?

Hi I’m 17 and have androgenic alopecia which means i’m already getting really thin hair and losing lots And lots of hair. I used to have extremely thick hair when I was younger, will Evolis increase the number of actual hairs or just prevent loss of hairs? Also will it increase the thickness of the really thin hairs? Please answer.

Hello, I have androgenic alopecia and used Evolis for 6 months and it did not work. I think the only thing that helps AA is minoxidil, so I would look into Regaine/Rogaine. Good luck - hope it works for you. I've been using it for three months so far and my shedding has reduced already.

I bought the mens treatment because the pharmacy had run out of product. The girl behind the counter (not a pharmacist) checked the ingredients on website against the bottle in store & could not see a difference in content so I bought it. However at the next pharmacy I was able to buy the women's treatment. On checking both bottles the ingredients appear exactly the same. Am I OK to use the mens treatment? Sometimes I get a dull headache for a couple of hour & then it's gone. Do others have that response? Dee H

Hi Ann, I asked Evolis this question and the response was "Yes, the ingredients are very similar and the difference between the men and women's tonic is primarily in the fragrance."...

I really loved the smell of the shampoo and conditioner and it didn't make my hair oily at all, but it did make my sister's hair oily, so I think unfortunately it depends!

Have just stared using the professional shampoo and conditioner and tonic. Have noticed a lot more hair fall than before. Is this normal? My hair fall is related to menopause.

évolis Australia
évolis Australia   DM

Hi Clara, You shouldn't be experiencing more hair fall with the use of evolis. May we ask the following questions to further investigate the issue? - How long have you been using evolis? - Have you experienced any major stress in the last 3-4 months? - Have you recently stopped using any minoxidil products?

You may email us at info@evolisproducts.com.au or if you'd like to talk to one of our hair biologists, please call us at 1300 386 547

Hi Sindoori, we would recommend the professional range if you like to colour your hair. The Professional range is silicone, paraben and sulfate free which help keep hair colour longer.

Hi SP. You can use any of the following: REVERSE, PROMOTE, or PREVENT. I have included the link to the REVERSE 3 step system below. These products won't interfere with your hair colour or damage your hair. If you have dry hair after getting your hair coloured, also try treatment with the White Mask. external link  external link

Is this product safe too use on colored hair..hair that has thinned and broken after constant bleaching

évolis Australia
évolis Australia   DM

Hi Mrscheese42. Thanks for your enquiry. The évolis Professional range would be more suitable on coloured hair as the range is paraben, sulfate & silicone free which are best on coloured hair and bleached hair. We would recommend you use the promote system as it also tackles dry and brittle hair from constant bleaching.

When used in a spray bottle, does it tend to leave your hair oily/greasy?

my scalp/hair tends to be naturally oily.

thanks,

Hi PC, I would suggest using the product as per the instructions ie the pipette. The product is not greasy so should not make your hair greasier when applying it. Best wishes, Lisa

Can it help with itchy scalp dandruff and hair lose?

LisaM
LisaM

Hi Samir, the tonic definitely helped with my hair loss. I would imagine you would need to attend to your dry and itchy scalp before using the tonic-there are many natural remedies available online for this condition. Best wishes, Lisa.

évolis Australia

Hi Samir, Thanks for your enquiry! Our products are specifically designed to help target hair loss. In terms of dandruff, we would recommend our Prevent range. The Prevent shampoo and conditioner are great for nourishing the scalp and eliminating flakiness and itchiness.

Is Evolis like Rogaine, as in do i have to keep using it for it to have an impact, Is it a permanent fix?

évolis Australia
évolis Australia   DM

Hi, It depends on the cause of the hair loss. Eg, if its a medical reason or hormonal, hair should eventually revert to its original form faster with the help of évolis. If its due to aging or hereditary predisposition, then a maintenance plan would need to continue :)

LisaM
LisaM

I spoke with Evolis and the said the following: Ideally, you should continue to use the product on a daily basis. Instead of two times a day, you can use it once daily or every second day. If you stop using the tonic completely, FGF5 will accumulate on your scalp again. Your hair will revert back to the condition it was prior to using the tonic gradually.

What is the difference between the shampoo and the tonic? Will I achieve results using just the shampoo or is the tonic more effective?

LisaM
LisaM

Hi Dimitri, from my understanding the hair tonic has the hair loss/drop inhibitor which does all the hard work in reversing hair loss, whereas the shampoo creates a clean healthy scalp for the tonic to easily penetrate the scalp. You will find more definitive answers on the myevolis website, which I believe has been recently updated. Best wishes, Lisa.

Had a question about the hair tonic for men. Been using it for over a month and not really noticing any difference with hair fall out. I noticed the product has ethanol in it and been researching this and found that it can be bad for hair and scalp? I don’t want to be using a product that can potentially be doing more harm than good which is why I chose the hair tonic over minoxidil because I believed it be a natural alternative. Hope you can help provide more info on this.

LisaM
LisaM

Hi Andy, In regard to your question about ethanol, I don't have a problem with my scalp and I have been using the products now for 7 months. You might want to try contacting the help desk at Evolis to see if they have any further information that can helpyou. I suggest you keep with the product for the recommended inital period of 16 weeks as that was when other people really started to notice a big change in the number of new hair I had growing. I also found that my hair fall had gone from handfuls to around 5 or 6 a day.. Lisa

Ross

Hi Andy, no problems, my hair is not falling out and i can't see my scalp under the bright light anymore so for me this product is a lifesaver... 100% works.

évolis Australia
évolis Australia   DM

Hi Andy, The ethanol found in our product is very minimal and has been used to help with the delivery of natural actives so that it remains residue-free. Ethanol is a natural solvent that will not have negative effects at the low levels in our products.

In terms of results, évolis users often notice a reduction in hair fall within 30 days, but some people take 60 days or more, before they notice a decrease in shedding.

évolis works by maintaining your hair in the growth phase so that it doesn't enter into the resting phase. Hair generally stays in the resting phase for 3 months before falling, so it can take some time before the effects of évolis begin to show, and residual shedding can continue as those hairs that were already in the resting phase continue to fall.

Regards,

Team évolis
