Fanco Eco Silent DC (2019-2020)

Noisy fans – Bought 4 of these fans, one is 48" based on choice recommendation for quiet bedroom fans. All 4 have been replaced under warranty by several different Electricians due to ongoing noise issues and are all still problematic.

Functions well, looks great, love the different light options – Delivery was fast, got it installed last week and use it most nights for lowly dimmed light and winter fan setting. It is very quiet and so convenient. Show details

No problem with these fans – I have bought 4 of these fans in the past for bedrooms and living areas. I find they are quiet and effective. The portable control is easy to use. I would recommend these fans to my friends

Led light issue – Had issues with light not completely going off contacted Tech support solved my problem great company to deal with turned out electrian did not properly earth the bolt/nut tighten it all good now fix myself still waiting for sparky to get back to me . I have three of these and am very happy – One fan needed a slight adjustment (small weight) on one of the blades to keep it quiet (stop from clicking) otherwise I am very happy with these fans. Mine all have the light as I replaced the ceiling lights with the fans and one is dimmable. I should have bought another for my own bedroom (put in air con so thought I wouldn't need the fan - with hindsight I should have put in a fan as well). Show details

Makes a clicking sound – Makes a clicking sound as it rotates which is annoying in the bedroom. The fan is good but if you are buying for the "silent" aspect I would not recommend. Show details

Awful awful awful – Looks nice otherwise disgusting quality! The ball does not sit level in the canopy causing them to rub on each other with a grating sound and scratching the paint off the ball. chalk board sound. The issues are with 2 52 inch fans. The 48 inch one does not make the grating and clicking but still makes a high pitched rubbing on metal noise from the canopy. They have been unusable from the first time they were turned on and no where near fit for purpose

General function is fine but it's not as quiet as advertised – This is the 2nd of these fans we've had and after 6 months had it replaced due to clicking and clunky motor noise in the low speed setting..it's not super loud but it's annoying in middle of night. The LED light is a stark daylight feel so not really relaxing for bedroom use. It would be fine for living rooms or larger family rooms. you’re in a hospital. Great if you want to perform surgery at night time, but not so great for relaxing.

The “beep” feedback on every remote button press is far too obnoxious and loud, which isn’t a deal breaker by itself; but to make matters worse, if you lose power in the middle of the night, even for a very short period of time, the fan will beep loudly, turn off, and the light will turn on when power is restored, waking you and your family up. Especially irritating if you have multiple fans in kids bedrooms. All too often I’m running around the house turning them off at 3am, hoping the kid settles again, swearing loudly wishing we’d never bought these fans.

Even if you don’t realise you’ve lost power, you will soon notice after installing this fan that it happens frequently during heatwave season.

Fan-co desperately need to change the default setting on these fans to light off, no beep, and a warm light for them to be good bedroom fans. In a living area or anywhere else where they aren’t used at night time I’m sure they’d be fine.

light cover, tightened that and now you literally cannot hear it. It moves the air extremely well even just on a 1 setting. The remote is great and the install was relatively straight forward for my sparkie. Some reviews complain about the bright light, may i suggest getting a bedlamp. It's nice to have it bright when you want it. My only negative is that they should make an extension pole and loom half the current size in addition to the current offering. Delivery was fast and advised. Would recommend this fan and and fansonline without issue.

Noisy (Faulty design) and way too bright for a bedroom – Purchased 3 of these a year ago and at install they made a horrible grinding noise (as described in another review) this is due to the poor design of the metal ceiling housing. warranty (Brilliant lighting were great). But now two of the new fans have the same issue 12 months later. Seems to be a motor quality issue if you ask me.

Would I buy these again? No.

My advice - Pay more, get a better quality fan that has a light the is adjustable these are like flood lights.

So far good - Resilience low – Have only used it a few times. Was used as a replacement of an old AC fan that transferred the sound to other apartments through the ceiling. Pros: - runs very silently - Creates a nice breeze - energy efficient (assumed) Cons: - Uses non standard battery - No wall switch available as add-on - Customer Care team did not respond to my contact request via their website. Fit for purpose ! – This fan has been perfect for the room and is nice and quiet. We have bought it for sleeping through summers and fits the bill really well. It only needs a low setting to suit our purpose. Gay June 28 2020 Show reply

Quiet and effective – I have installed the eco silent DC fan with LED light in my bedroom. The fan is very quiet and good for sleeping. In summer we ran it all night long. The light though, is quite bright, and it did take a while to get used to. Now that we have had the fan/light installed for a while (several months), we no longer notice the brightness, and like that it is good for reading. Show reply

Great fan – The echo silent is just that silent. I found an extension rod cut down improved the air flow and allowed the fan to run on low speed giving good air flow. Show details ·  1

Brilliant Customer Service...!!! – I made an email enquiry to Fanco last night about their fans. First thing this morning I got a message that the fan I was after had been discontinued but gave me detailed options as to what my work well for me. The lady in question was Eleni who is obviously The Queen Bee of Sales and an absolute soopahstar in my firmament! Worst best fans i have ever known – These fans seem good on almost every way except the way they are mounted in there cradle is very poor design. I purchased 5 of these fan, installed by electrician and they were quiet for a day or 2. counter weights and you get a horrible ticking sound. Add the circular metal hub that hides the cradle and power box that is too small and that creates ticking/rubbing sound. There are 3 issues 1: Cradle is source of noise 2: Metal shroud that hides cradle and electrical is source of sound 3: Blades and mounting are not engineered well enough to balance fan very well creating unbalance to make the ticking sound from first 2 sources.

Fixes: 1: cloth take between cradle and ball that sits in cradle, this is pain in the butt and not permanent fix. 2: Drop the metal shroud down, this removes alot of sound but again not permanent fix.

I would avoid these fans at all cost.

Good points: The motors are very quiet and are amazing to have in a bedroom and night. So quiet if you can eliminate ticking sound. Remote control works well we double side tape them to the power switch for fan. They look good.

The problems started within days and the problem is to all fans, some are balanced more than others. Its the fan installed in bedrooms that are worse of course. Very painful knowing they make that damn ticking sound.

Works as well as we expected!! – The Eco Silent fans we purchased have been installed in our bed rooms and are indeed very quiet. The remote control functionality works well, I really like the reverse button. and easily fills the room. It is perhaps a bit too bright when you turn the light on during the night, but, during the day its excellent. The fan did not need the balancing kit that came with it, there was no rocking or rolling once it was installed and tested.
