Takes about 6C off the internal temperature of our van in full sun. Better if under shade. So not much good in 40C. But very good at dehumidifying in the tropics - 30C and 90% humidity quickly drops to 24C and 50% humidity, which makes an enormous difference. Heating works very well. Show details

Don't waste your money – Doesn't heat or cool my A-frame van. It does blow out coolish air which you can feel if you put your hand in front of outlet but that's about it.

Finch is a lifesaver for extra weather – I installed the Finch underbunk aircon and we found it was hard to cool down the van (we have a HiAce Commuter van), but when we added a curtain to separate the front of the van from the bed area, the aircon was wonderful. It has kept us cool on the hottest of days, and it was snug on cold nights and days. I love my Finch under bunk aircon. Now looking for an inverter generator Show details

Finch HB9000 – The unit came with the Van 2017...initially appeared to cool ok albeit during testing phase. After dirt roads and hot weather the unit progressively didn't cool as when first tested. Googled maintenance on the unit and only required a small screen filter to be cleaned which had no effect on the cooling. Obviously with it being an underbed unit… Read more

access is quite impossible to check anything else without total removal. I don't expect it to be an icebox but the unit is quite inadequate...even had to install fans to assist with the airflow. We also have a Poptop which will add to the poor result.

Not Suitable for Dust Roads – We have a Finch HB9000 underbunk Air conditioning unit in our off Road Caravan. On the first trip, the unit managed to collect nearly 2 cups of dust right through the inner workings, through the product casing and into our Van. Fortunately we had a dust suppression fan which kept the dust under the bed, or it would have been much worse. Upon… Read more

asking for assistance with a solution, got the “not our problem” run around from the supplier, no concern, no help, no recommendations and wouldn’t call to discuss. “We don’t and won’t recommend anything that will hinder airflow”. Given the amount of dust inside I don’t see how the unit could operate without premature failure. In my opinion poor customer service and poorly designed product for use on Dirt Roads.

Prior to the dust ingress issue, can confirm the heating function worked well, but the cooling was not as effective as expected. Unit is probably ok if you stick to sealed roads, but off road, not so much.
