VerifiedHow to access the pump on dishwasher
Dishwasher is not draining fully when restarting it overflows
Hi, my dishwasher has stopped cleaning properly. It does the usual shirt drain on start up, then fills with water (water is full in the bottom of the machine after this happens). After the fill function nothing else happens, can't hear the wash pump running. There is a quiet humming noise coming from the machine while this is happening. After about 15 mins, it will drain and refill and then the humming again. I suspect the pump or capacitor is the problem. The pump shaft is not siezed, the screens are clean. The heating element seems to be working as heat can be felt when the door is opened. Just appears there is no wash water to spin the arms. Do you think the wash pump is the problem?
ours is doing the same - what did you find ?
Ended up being the capacitor. Very easy to replace, cost me $22 from an appliance repair shop. Take the old one in so they can match the rating of the old capacitor.
Obviously make sure it is unplugged from the power before you pull any covers off and try any repairs
mate, is this capacitor soemthing from bunnings i can get? where do i see the capacitor?. Sorry i am not very techie
G'day Paul, it's a small silver or white part that looks cylindrical in shape with a couple of wires to one end. It is mounted on the side of the wash motor. Google your dishwasher model number and wash motor after it eg. "DW60CEW1 wash motor" and you should get a picture of what I mean. Once you have it removed, take it to a local appliance repair shop and they should have what you need. I don't think Bunnings will have it. Please make sure you unplug the machine and leave it for a good amount of time before you try removing it, The capacitors whole purpose is to store a huge amount of energy to fire the motor up when it initially starts so they need to be fully discharged before they are removed. Take care and good luck with the repair.

Hi there. You should contact the manufacturer rather than relying on our novice information. We had the same problem. We contacted the manufacturer. They sent a technician who fixed the problem. Good luck
What they charge you for that?
Was hoping for a simple fix
There seem to be many people complaining that their dinner plates don't fit. Can you clarify why this may be an issue and/or if there is a way to correct it
The top rack can be raised. Just open clips at the ends of the rack and take rack out and move it up and close the clips.
This is detailed in the manual.
Hi Huntsman
Easy fix, thanks for the prompt reply
