The machine was faulty from day one. The touch pad was A real TROUBLE. Buttons were not functioning. Customer service is extremely hard to get in touch with. The website is pushing you to select a date and a time FORCED on you. Very inflexible. Three( 3) service guys came and each time they found it hard to recognize the problem. First one… Read more
replaced the Touchpad on his second visit. Still was a failure. Second guy re adjusted. Third guy said it had not been set up/ programmed right. Now it is ok. But if your body touches the Touchpad by accident it gets activated. ( it is under the island bench and kitchen sink) Now l switch it off from the wall outlet each time I will NEVER touch anything FISHER AND PAYCLE.
Somehow I have ended up with 4 Fisher and Paykel dishwashers. Some in rentals and some where I live. The F&P dishdrawer is basically an overpriced unreliable piece of junk. Problem is once you have one, a single one, there is little or no option but to replace it with another one or you need to redesign your kitchen. The main problem is the lid… Read more
that closes on the top of the drawer, the fundamental design is terrible with its lid actuators and lid sensors. The lid only has to be a few mm out of wack or you put something slightly too high in the drawer and bingo F51 (flood sensor call the service guy). All the electronics gets wet and corroded. Added to that it doesn't do a great job cleaning the dishes. Then there is the full size DW60FC1X1. Holy moly! How can anyone design a dishwasher in the 2020's that half the time the powder or tablet stays in the automatic dispenser! You basically can't put anything in front of the detergent dispenser or, no detergent is used for that wash! Even item stacked lower down if something blocks the water stream that sprays the dipenser tough luck no detergent that wash. If you want something decent and cheap get a Beko or spend a bit more and get a Bosch.
DO NOT BUY!!! We have had this dishwasher for just under 4 years and it has been nothing but a nightmare. Just after 2 years (right as warranty ended) surprise, surprise the dishwasher was not draining and throwing error codes at us. It flooded our kitchen. We booked a service and someone came to fix it. As it was only 1-2 months out of warranty… Read more
the person on the phone said that it would be covered for us. It turns out that a part was broken (pretty sure it was the pump) and it was fixed under warranty. Within 1.5 years we are having the exact same problem. Customer service have not been willing to help us and have told us that we will need to pay for a service person to come out and the pay for the possible new part. We have done everything they have suggested and it is still not draining from time to time (could be cycle after cycle or be fine for 10 cycles and then not drain again). We are so disappointed with the service and product as we should not have to buy an appliance after 4 years to replace an expensive appliance.

Very Disappointed – Poor Quality and Even Worse Customer Service Extremely disappointed with my Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. I recently had to pay $311 to repair a Code F30 fault on an appliance that's only a couple of years old and came with a new build. Now, it's not heating or drying, making it practically unusable. The dishwasher has been… Read more
lightly used, yet it continues to underperform, which is completely unacceptable from a brand positioned as premium.
To make matters worse, customer service has been frustrating and unhelpful, lacking any real accountability or support. I expected much better from Fisher & Paykel. I will not be recommending this brand and will definitely be reconsidering future purchases.
I have only had this dishwasher for just over a year and it's been nothing but trouble. It's needs parts replacing and also keeps telling me that it getting no water with a code flashing up A10. Previously to this I had my old dishwasher for 10 years that I purchased from Bunning's in Australia, it never skipped a beat. Between Harvey Norman and Fisher & Paykel they are a joke. Do not purchases this dishwasher washer. Save your money.
Cheap and nasty - Comes with risk of flooding your house – Initially this was a reasonable product. It is not appropriately sized for larger plates (greater than approx 20cm), but we made do. After 4 years of use, an F30 fault code appeared - flood alert. This cost just over $250 to repair (authorised F&P repair). The cause of the fault was a flexible plastic hose that supplied water to the upper arm -… Read more
it had split. Upon closer inspection, the hose had become brittle and was in such a state that it could be snapped with thumb and finger pressure. See attached photo.
This is unacceptable for a product that should provide 10 or so years of life. F&P have cheapened out, using hoses that are not fit for purpose, and come with the risk of flooding your kitchen.
A piece of sh!t – Wash cycle too long. Noisy. After warranty runs out (2 years) F30 error - flooding. Repairer showed me that the dish sprinkler plastic pipe had a rip in it from wear and tear. Same issues as Dale's review exactly. I would never buy this brand again in a dishwasher. Expensive to repair. Call out fee $$$ from F&P. A piece of crap. Show details

So Damn Frustrating!!! – Bought and installed 3 days ago. Used twice so far and I cannot give a good review of the performance at all. Either I don't know how to work it or it is a dud but there is so much water on all the items in the machine when the dishwasher is finished. I thought it was because I need to choose extra dry setting but no, still has the same issue.… Read more
Worst of all is the cutlery in the drawer is saturated and has so much beading of water surrounding it. See pic. I have to physically dry the drawer or the water beading just sits permanently. The handle on the drawer fills up with water and it constantly drips and wets my hand when I clasp it to pull the drawer out. I was excited to have this cutlery drawer instead of a basket but it's a huge let down. Don't buy it, don't put yourself through the anxiety of having to dry everything in the dishwasher. I didn't want another cheap Euro brand but so far much better than Fisher & Paykel!

Good value, quiet, water efficient – The F & P dishwasher was on sale and we got it for a really good price. I wanted this model over the other F & P range due to the additional wash options such as Sanitise etc. Overall product works without issue and cleans dishes very well. The machine is water efficient, quiet and the spikes are adaptable to various dishes, pots and pans etc. I like the clean lines and no handle to bump into given the position in our kitchen. Great Machine – The dish washer looks good, its quiet and most of all cleans and dry's dishes. The controls are easy to use with a good variety of settings, I only use the 90 minute setting. I can recommend it is an excellent machine. Show details
Highly Recommended! – This is our third F&P dishwasher in 30 years. We always connect to the hot water supply which reduces power costs and improves wash quality. By the time you rinse and stack, the hot water is through from the tank and you turn on the machine. 30 mins later - sparkling clean dishes! Show details

This dishwasher is an absolute disaster. There are so many faults, I could write 6,000 words and still not cover them all. I moved into my new apartment in Canberra, excited to settle in, only to discover within a week that this appliance was leaking, skipping cycles, or refusing to start altogether. When I reached out to Fisher & Paykel, I was… Read more
stunned to be told that they had nothing to do with it and that I should contact the builder. The builder, in turn, refused to honour the warranty because the three-month defect period had expired—despite the fact that the issue surfaced almost immediately after I moved in. Now I’m stuck with an expensive metal box that does absolutely nothing it was designed to do. It’s not just the product that’s flawed—it’s the entire customer experience. The lack of accountability and support from both the manufacturer and the builder is appalling. My advice: Steer clear of products—and companies—that show no interest in supporting their customers or earning future business. This has been a costly and frustrating lesson in what happens when after-sales service is treated as an afterthought.
Very noisy and ineffective dishwasher when compared to an older Dishlex we replaced. Pre rinsing helps but any cycle shorter than the max causes dished to come out still dirty or with a grainy feel to them. Dishes are rarely dry at the end or the cycle but the worst part is the sub standard cleaning performance and rack configuration means we can't load as much in, resulting in more hand washing. I do not recommend this product Show details

So disappointed with this product. It had all the features we wanted but it doesn't do the job. Top cutlery rack does not clean properly. Cutlery basket better but still hit and miss. Doesn't clean properly and we have to rinse everything. Doesn't clean on any other cycle than heavy and even then?? Plus it's the worst stacking design on the face… Read more
of this earth! I wouldn't recommend this at all. In fact I was an avid F and P user but this has done it for me. No more! Lg or Samsung it is. You need to address these issues F and P.

Great machine until the 4.5 yr mark when the machine flooded the floor and the motor went. Once again extended product warranty saved me and I have just received a new machine. Harvey Norman were great and their product warranty is a game changer. Show details
Purchased through Good Guys in September 2024. Really disappointed in its cleaning ability. Plates and cutlery regularly come out unclean. We use good quality detergent, rinse heavy soiling before stacking and use the heavy cycle and still need to check everything when unpacking. This is our fourth dishwasher and first Fisher and Paykel. Won’t buy this brand again.
Don’t waste your money – Don’t waste your money. We have been so disappointed with this dishwasher. Unless you are an avid rinser and rinse your dishes until they are clean, you’ll forever be re-cleaning dishes. The middle rack isn’t so bad but the bottom rack is useless, especially if you don’t leave a gap between plates. Show details
Beware Fisher and Paykel – A terrible dishwasher – beware! Difficult to use, the buttons make no sense for those older members of the family. After about 3 years Broken down with a pump bearings that have failed and cost more to repair that it’s worth. I will never ever ever ever ever purchasing another FP product again. When I went to the retailer they advised that they… Read more
are now made as part of the same cheap discount brand Haier and they are constantly being returned with faults.
Don’t buy one – Silly design, trays slide off tracks constantly Badly designed, tried to contact Fisher & Paykel to see if there was a way to add stoppers or adjust it, the chat feature on their website continually comes up with an error. Will try calling them Show details
Cheap junk – Does the job but it is designed to fail just out of warranty, the main motor has soft graphite bushes instead of bearings so after 2 years the bushes wear out far enough that the motor won’t spin anymore and anyone that thinks this is not intentional is delusional. Show details
3 years life span - leaks all the time to dangerous to have in a 2 story dwelling – utter garbage - only good for land fill at the dump!! waste of money, after 3 years the machine is at end of life. kitchen is on 2nd floor = major flooding potential as it continues to fill up with water by itself, the stop valve lets water in, need to keep it turned off at tap to avoid flooding. F30 error means your kitchen will be flooded and… Read more
you have to pull out the machine each time, tilt each time and re install each time. all the other reviews on here are the same and everyone is giving the same feedback. Its too dangerous to have in our home. Cant wait to get it out and cut it up with the angle grinder and put it where it belongs - the rubbish tip!!
Terrible dishwasher, waste of money – Terrible dishwasher. The lower spinner arm becomes unbalanced and hits the bottom rack and results in unwashed dishes. The motor died after 14 months and it was replaced under warranty. The new motor has died at 14 months and is now out of warranty and to replace it (with parts and labour) costs nearly as much as a new one. Show details

Terrible hose quality - risk of flooding – Same problem as Dan N below. The internal hose supplying the upper sprayer arm became brittle and cracked flooding the kitchen. Ended up fixing it myself with a sturdier 10mm PVC hose from Bunnings rather than pay for a technician callout. Also, the main drain hose cracked shortly after which was also replaced. The hose quality is crap and could cause flooding in the kitchen. Luckily we have a tiled floor so no permanent water damage. Show details
Ok dishwasher with annoying "clever" features – Had this for a year plus. Washes alright but some features do not make sense at all. 1) The detergent compartment is too deep and the water in it is therefore hard to reach to dry before you add powder. 2) Next, it "cleverly" switches on every single time you open its door. So it will switch on even if you put a single cup in it. This automated… Read more
feature is nonsensical as to get it to wash you actually need to switch it on manually. 3) The owner's manual does not help me to select half load. 4) Its filters are too fine and so they clog up very fast. Frequent filter dismantling and cleaning makes this washer a high maintenance one :( 5) However, it has an extra spray arm at the top, an uncommon feature that may clean the top of items on the top rack better. P. S. My prevoius 9-year-old Westinghouse dishwasher was much more user friendly :)
F40, F30 and burnt smell – Ran dishwasher over night. Woke to beeping and strange burnt smell. Error F40. Reset, Error F30. It's 15 months old! Drained using old towels, checked plumbing, drain pipe. All good. Reset, same error. F30. At best did a very average job compared to Bosch in previous house. Service call or just bin it? Leaning towards binning it, will never trust it to run unattended given burnt smell. Total rubbish. Show details
Not good – This is a very average dishwasher with quite a few flaws. The top rack can’t be filled because covering the back prevents it from locking into the water spray. Also don’t place glasses in the corners on the lower rack because they won’t get washed. We find only the intensive wash setting is effective and finally the final drying can be super hot so be aware of burn risks. It’s noisy and the bottom rack constantly slides off its rails.
Disappointing longevity – We bought this model of dishwasher in November 2021 and in March 2024 (just five months out of the warranty period) it broke down. It wouldn't fill up and kept trying to drain, showing an A20 error. The technician who looked at it, said it was a motherboard issue and it was pointless trying to repair it. His recommendation was to replace it. Quite a disappointment as I've had other F&P appliances that I'm really happy with. Ah well!
F30 Flood Error - unreliable machine – Machine is usable although it is difficult to fit larger plates and many things will not dry. We are having ours collected after 2.5 years of use. Fisher and Paykel would be willing to send a serviceman at my cost. I will be spending that $250 towards buying a new machine from a different brand. Machine leaks internally and triggers flood switch. Never buying F and P again. Show details
Difficult to repair – My dishwasher is only about 4 years old, over the past year it had episodes when it would alarm and stop and there would be water in the base of the dishwasher. This would only happen every few months or so, so was easy to deal with. Eventually it was happening quite often and we had it checked by a repairman . They have replaced the motor and an… Read more
electrical board and now the dishwasher works but the water doesn’t get hot. The repairmen have been back several times and have been quite helpful and they have also contacted fisher and paykel about it. I just don’t understand how any company would think a product is satisfactory that stops working after 4 years
And now fisher and paykel are telling my repairman they have no idea how to fix it, it just seems… Read more
Disappointed in the quality of the wash – One of the deciding factors to buy this dishwasher DW60FC4X2 was the extra space created by having the cutlery tray at the top. The cutlery comes out still dirty as if it was just dunked in water. My old Westinghouse did a better job for almost half the price. Certainly won’t be buying Fisher & Paykel again. Show details
Crap product and crap after sales service – Got a fisher and paykel dishwasher and after 12 months it started to become faulty. Turning on and off randomly until it lost all power. Thought this would be covered under warranty and called the customer line who said they would have a technician look at it and repair under warranty. The technician came and then demanded $125 call out fee for… Read more
looking at the dishwasher despite never being told about any fees to repair or replace a faulty product. Was also told that the technician could not repair it and I would have to buy a new one at my own cost because the fault was a cockroach in the unit. My house is a new build and we have rarely seen any cockroaches throughout the whole house yet they claimed we had an infestation in our dishwasher. Not sure why the electrical components are easily accessed by cockroaches. I wouldn't bother paying for a faulty product and then get no decent after sales service. Will be escalating to ACCC however will be without a dishwasher for a longer period. Avoid.
Wont last more than 3.5yrs, FCO Motor Faulty – One of our friend recommend Fisher & Paykel and told us this is a good brand. We bought washer which last for 4 yrs only with 3 in home call services. 1 in out of warranty and paid $250. And this dishwasher DW60FC6X1 wont last 3 yrs too. The FCO code (Motor faulty) comes after 3yrs and we paid $250 for labour (technician came from F&P) with 1yr… Read more
warranty for the motor which last only 13months and again its the same issue. I do not recommend this piece of crap. Fisher & Paykel not a good brand believe me.
faulty design – This dishwasher's design is really bad。It has 3 layers but actually not enough space for 3 layers. Even a smallest dinner plate (26cm) will touch the spray arm, also not clean and dry properly. After being tortured for 2 months, I decided to buy a new curtley basket to replace the curtley tray, higher the other tray to make more room for dinner plate, now everything works fine. I wonder if they ever test the design before releasing the product.
Broke the second time I used it. Had to wait 2 weeks for a replacement – The second time I ran it, the middle arm fell off because it wasn't assembled correctly. Their customer service is a nightmare to use and I couldn't book a technician for weeks. I offered to just screw the working arm on myself if they'd send it to me but they refused and insisted they had to send a technician. The quality of the clean is… Read more
average. I scrape and rinse dishes before I put them in but it still just redistributes whatever gunk is left and then bakes it onto the other dishes. Would be done with the brand altogether after the last one except my kitchen was built in a way that locks me into F&P dishwashers if I don't want to tear out and put in new cabinets and electrical.
Dishwasher door has developed rust spots in less than 4 years! – Spoke to customer service who said the rust must be from some abrasive chemicals or from scratches. I do not use any abrasive chemicals and have not scratched the dishwasher, which ahs been in the same spot since installation. Customer service has refused to even send a technician out to determine if it is indeed a product fault. Will never but from FISHER AND PAYKEL again.
