Washes well but too rough on towels – I'd previously had a F&P top loader for almost 20 years, and was very happy with it, so when it died, I decided to buy a F&P front loader (8060P3). I've had the machine for several months now and it washes well enough and clothes come out clean. There's also a good range of cycles, including steam refresh. However, the washer has ruined my towels,… Read more

which come out feeling like steel wool, despite following the instruction manual and using fabric softener. The only way to bring a bit of softness back to the towels is to dry them in the clothes dryer, which defeats any goals of energy efficiency. Disappointed about this, given the cost of the machine, and have to say, I won't be buying another F&P in future. Other friends with different brand washers have encountered the same problem, so it might be an issue with front loaders more generally? I'd recommend asking around about how different brands handle towels before buying.

Perfect – Replace my old washing machine for this front loader. It's an 8.5kg, it's silent, it washes so well, has many functions to choose from to tailor your every load. Cycle times can be slightly shortened which is a great feature. Also, it's an 8.5kg that washes 8.5kg, not restricted to only 1 cycle that washes the full load. Yes, other cycles like… Read more

delicates, wool and quick washes (15min) are weight restricted, but logical. It is so quiet, I forget I had washing in there.... it has an alert when the cycle has finished thankfully. ps Appliances Online were fabulous. Delivery and installation, no problem, friendly and efficient staff. Have bought all my appliances through them and never had a problem.

A perfect upgrade – We've now had the F&P washing machine since August 2018. I bought this machine as an upgrade and update for the 7.5kg Samsung we'd had for ~6yrs. This is a great machine to use. Almost silent, only heard on some spins, and when the water flows in. I am always careful to NOT over do the detergent, and have found this machine does a great wash with… Read more

about 1/2 to 3/4 [max] of that recommended on the detergent box: a 5kg box of a major manufacturer's detergent will have lasted us about 18mths when it runs out about April this year [2020]. We're a household of 2 elderly people and normally do 3 loads weekly, with an occasional 4, or 5, loads when doing curtains or blankets, etc. That's a very cheap wash by any measure. We're able to have wash loads of about 1/1/2 times the amount in this machine, without cramming it in, to our older, 7.5kg, machine; it's surprisingly roomy. The inside light is handy to make sure that odd bits don't get left inside. I've found that the 'lock' is very useful, too, as when it's engaged it prevents changes to the programme[s] that can occur if the touch buttons are accidentally touched or brushed against - something that may not be noticed - or inquisitive little fingers might enjoy playing around with! It's a versatile machine, with ability to cover just about any laundry needs. The 'add a garment' even mid-wash [unless the water level is too high] is a godsend! Others are a delay option, and the ability to shorten a set programme if wanted on some programmes. The 1400-spin gives a noticeably dryer finish compared to the 1200 spin on our older machine. The machine has never had any wobble or movement across the floor as it balances and re-balances the load automatically.... There's signal at 100 washes, which we've not heard so far, to remind you to do a machine wash: I did one at 1 year old anyway. The 'machine clean' wash is done simply with your normal detergent, so no special buys. We paid $950 at our local Betta Home Living store [we also had a trade-in which took it to a balance of $750]. This washing machine is worth a consideration.

Never knew what I was missing! – Finally replaced my ten year old machine with this one...it is fantastic. I use it every second day and it has so many great features. I love that I can add a garment after a cycle has started (when I forget to add something when the load first goes in). I only use eco powder so its great that every 90 washes or so it prompts you to do a wash to… Read more

clean the machine at 90 degrees. I mostly use the everyday, cottons or wool cycles. I have easily fit a king size summer doona in...the 8.5kg size is awesome! I don't think its any noisier than my old machine but this one can spin up to 1400 so stuff comes out needing just a short drying time. I also do hand washing and throw in just for the spin cycle. The quality of the dial is great too. Well worth the money. Don't know why I waited so long to upgrade.

Great washing machine, better than my old Bosch – We decided to upgrade an old Bosch machine and in final stages of selection we were comparing Bosch, AEG and Fisher Paykel. It finally came down to the wash times and some changes Bosch had made to their machines for wash time. I am sure i am not alone in Australia with wanting a wash time under 1 hour, and with this machine the cotton cycle we… Read more

get a 59 minute wash time on 30degree water. The machine is fully customisable and you can change the pre-settings to your liking so when selected it comes up with your preferences, not the original pre-programmed options. Clothes wash well, no issues to date.

Loads of wash programs, fast and cleans very well – Our fisher paykel cloths washer has loads of different washing programs, from cotton to delicate to fast wash. We found just the simple fast wash gets the job done very well. Te soap draw has gotten stuck a few times but we just had to clean it out a bit. Dirty cloths go in clean come out! Very happy with our cloths washer  Show details

Unfortunately a waste of money ☹️ – I purchased this washer in June 2018. The washer looks good and is easy to use. However after the first couple of times of using it the machine started to make loud groaning sounds at various times during the cycle and it became more frequent. I called fisher paykel and they put me in touch with a technician who came to inspect the appliance-I… Read more

was advised that the machine had a mechanical and electrical fault! The machine never washed to its promised water efficiency level but this is likely because of the faults.

fisher and paykel ordered a replacement machine without confirming with me whether I wanted a refund or replacement. They denied me a refund even though their website said that customers with appliances having major faults are entitled to a refund under law. I then went to where I purchased the washer who provided me with a refund.

After being lied to and treated with disrespect From the manufacturer i will never purchase a fisher and paykel washer again.

dont waste your money on this machine. You can get a better machine that is cheaper and still achieves water efficiency.

Faulty design - poor electronics – Lasted me about 6 months without an issue, had multiple problems with the inlet hose not letting in water and it's unusable. Sometimes it just starts beeping with error codes and despite only using liquid I'm not getting a full wash done and I have to restart it. After the warranty runs out I'm gonna have to get a new one cause they wanted to charge me $450 for a new control panel!  Show details

My favourite washing machine to date – I'm absolutely wrapped with this ripper of a machine! Bought it on sale EOFY from Appliances Online at 40% off with free delivery, installation and removal of my crappy old one. I love the wide variety of cycle options and the super quick 15 min cycle is brilliant. Internal LED light is great and it is very stable when spinning and nice and quiet too. The clothes came out much drier than I’m used to and the clean is amazing.  Show details

Great Machine....also good value... Love it so far – Cleans well. Very quiet. Sensible price. Love the soak option (model with soak only available at Jb Hifi) Love that you can add soak or prewash to any cycle. Had an issue with high pitched noise while filling with cold water. Jb Hifi organized a technician to come and look at it. Technician replaced filter on cold water inlet pipe. Problem… Read more

solved. Can have an issue with super long cycle times on large light items e.g. mattress protectors because it has trouble balancing the load. I put these on at night so that long time is not an issue.

Satisfactory washer – Easy to install with two people required as quite heavy. Clothes are clean and dry at end of cycle, though not quite as dry as my old Asko washer. Plenty of options (maybe too many) on differing washing cycles. But my only gripe is that their designers stuffed up their programming if you only have a cold water connection for the machine. The… Read more

machine can and does heat its own water which is standard practice nowadays. But every time you pick a warm wash the program thinks you have a hot water connection and will wait for about 3 minutes thinking hot water is entering when its not. i suppose 3 minutes is not too long for every wash for the life of the machine for some people, it does annoy me though. They could have easily allowed the user to program no hot water connection with a few more lines of firmware, or at least provide a linking hot and cold hose arrangement. i might even pay for a dual hose link but they don't have only available, I'll have to make my own. Maybe i could patent the idea and sell it to F & P. Copyright.

Great improvement from 5 year old machine – The previous machine would leave large amounts of lint on the clothes and began to leak so it was time to get a replacement. Can't fault the machine and has many cycles along with clothes being dryer than the previous model so they are able to be brought in from the line faster.  Show details

Not too bad – Bought this when it was on sale. Good for the price. Better than my old fisher and paykel only because it is bigger (8.5kg). Initially having loud rattle problems. I love this washing machine. Like really love this washing machine – Bought this as an upgrade from a little Bosch front loader. No problems so far – This washing machine heats it's own water and like other front loaders doesn't use very much water. We have no mains water and are using tank water and it works well. Terrible Machine, Wait for 1-2 years to passby – EDIT JUNE 2019 -- Taking off the 5 star rating ... THIS MACHINE IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEM after warranty period passes by. 'Quiteness' has now gone away and it is as loud as 5-10 yr old machines....

Very disappointed with the purchase , what a waste of money. Going to F&P means they will now charge us , callout fee + repair + part. Very poor form F&P.

---------------------------------------------- purchased this machine last year on specials from Jbhifi for $790 and claimed $100 in F&P Cashback offer, so it costed me $690. (and a matching Dryer DE6060G1) Now for an Premium Brand like Fisher & Paykel a front loader 8.5Kgs for $690 was a steal to start with.

Pros: ~Q-U-I-E-T very QUIET ~LED light inside is quite helpful at times ~Different wash modes respond well ~Ability to add a garment in between the cycle

Cons: Can't think of any

Functional, efficient and Smart – We purchased this washer as a mate for the F&P DH8060P Heat Pump Dryer. They replaced an 8 year old Samsung Washer/Dryer that had become uneconomic to repair. Vibration is minimal. There are a good range of washing functions to suit different items. This includes a super quick cycle that will wash minimally soiled items in 15 minutes. In addition it has the time saver function that works across other wash cycles to intelligently reduce wash times. We are hoping for a long service life for this machine which has minimum moving parts because of the direct drive motor.

All in all we are very pleased with this washer although it's early days yet... we've only had it 1 week

Does the job – It cleans & rinses well. Considering the spin cycle is something like 1400rpm the machine is reasonably quite with little vibration (unlike our last LG). Great replacement for our old Fisher and paykel – Quieter, carries a bigger load and a good spread of functions compared to our older machine. We traded up, not because our machine was not working, but before it started to not work. It lasted well for around 7 years. It allows for additional clothing and just seemed to have a better reliability reputation than other brands.  Show details

I'm now sold on front loaders – We've had Fisher & Paykel top loaders since their first Gentle Annie model 30 odd years ago. longer to do a load of washing, but the results are amazing. A permanent stain that has been on a top and washed many times, came out this morning after being washed in the front loader! An added bonus is that we only use half a scoop of washing powder and haven't used conditioner. There’s no noticeable difference in the clothes which is going to save money in the long run. I was hesitant at first because of reports of stiff towels and tangled shirts, but I can report I have not experienced this at all with this machine. The only other reservation I had was having to bend down to get the washing, but I haven't been bothered by it all.

UPDATE 18 months later. The F&P front loader still continues to please. I was put off initially about all the comments about how long it takes to do a wash (55 minutes for the everyday wash). It has never bothered me as it is so gentle on my clothes and it’s not as if I’m sitting waiting for it to finish. I like how you can add clothes at anytime during the wash cycle. I thought it would be difficult to bend down to get clothes out. It’s actually easier than reaching into the bottom of a top loader. I’ll update again in another 18 months.

Excellent product – After nearly ten years of hell with three different Whirlpool front load washers I couldn't wait to switch to a different brand. suggests but that's not an issue for me, it washes really well and has a lot of cycles and options to choose from. Even the fifteen minute wash does a great job on the clothes.

The delicate & hand wash cycles are a lifesaver because who has time to hand wash these days, and it spins everything nice and almost dry. Big capacity is important for our big family as I wash almost daily.

It's neither loud nor super quiet, if the door to the laundry is open there are some stages of the cycle you can hear from a couple of rooms away but, again, it's not an issue. Overall very happy with this machine, especially considering that with the Whirlpool I bought back in 2009 it had already been replaced by this stage for being a lemon.
