the washing machine does not come on. If you take the cord out of the socket and replace it several minutes later the control panel lights up from left to right momentarily but will not power on to select a cycle
The metal lid on my washer has rusted all around the top. Very disappointed with it leaving rust marks on my clothes if I’m not super careful taking them out wet. Can the lid be replaced? If so where would I order a new lid?

I purchased a Fisher Paykel top loader 10kg a few months ago. Purchased from Good Guys Chatswood. Previouly had Fisher Paykel for 18 years. Reason for change was the old washing machine not big enough to wash blankets. The new one has the small agitator. This machine is extremely disappointing. I have a lot of black clothing items. For some reason the clothing comes out of the wash with cloudy lint on it!! I have to wash and re wash the black items. I have emptied the lint filters but this does not stop the cloudy lint on the clothing.

That is see definitely not right. Have you checked the manual for possible solutions? Are both of your taps open?
The manual suggests that this should be accompanied by a 3 digit fault code on the display screen. Is there such a code, and if so, what is it?
This is a known fault with the machine. You have to slam the lid every time you use it.
My machine does not was properly... Still has like dirt and sand on my clothes. Obviously the rice has not worked. Anyone know the fix?
Do all of your washes end with the same result? What cycle are you using? Is it too short? Maybe try using the auto selection.
No... Does full cycle. I do believe that maybe the machine is not completely draining. So I've just bought a new machine... $1350 later! But I will investigate it further... Maybe something like a sock has gone down into the guts og the machine.. I've run the machine in Prince only as well. Same result. And on hot wash... The water isn't hot in machine... Hot from tap... So a few gremlins there
How do I increase the number of times the end of cycle alert happens? Not the number of beeps to signal the end of the cycle. This alert only happens once. I don’t always hear it, so I’m not aware that the wash is finished. I’d like it to repeat until I turn it off by lifting the lid. Is this possible?
Hello, looking in the manual page 22 outlines how to change some of the preset options which includes the amount of end of cycle beeps. Hope this helps.

When should detergent be added? I add at very beginning but there seems to be an initial minor rinse, drain of water and then drum fills up again for main wash. I’m worried I’m washing my detergent out before the main wash each time. Manual doesn’t answer when to add detergent.

My washing always comes out with fine either lint or detergent on it. If the clothes are still wet it can be easily removed with a lint remover but once dry it’s near impossible. Every wash comes out the same - and dark clothes are a nightmare. I thought it might be due to using powder detergent but i’ve been using liquid for quite a while now and still have the same issue. Any clues? I am using less detergent than suggested but also hasn’t made a difference. It’s some sort of residue - detergent or lint. And i’ve tried different liquid detergents too. Same result… thks
I suggest you fill your washing machine up with HOT water, add 2 pints of white vinegar, run the WASH cycle and let it sit for 1 hour - then spin cycle. It sounds like you have a build up of detergent "scud". Dark clothes are always worse. Try using less liquid detergent

No, it has an "auto lint disposal" - traps the lint and sends it down the drain. You can order a lint filter via the F&P website. Many washing machines don't have "manual" lint filters these days. Lint filters don't catch micro particles (eg plastics) if that's what you're concerned about. But the hair and cloth fibres that are caught in a lint filter can by in a secondary nature trap micro plastics. I've recently ordered a lint filter.
