Brilliant W/M. It's got the lot! Small footprint, Large Load 7kg+ LESS Water usage & it's Quiet!! – We only EVER buy Fisher & Paykel Washers (our first lasted 15yrs)!! When we were renovating our laundry, I wanted a smaller washing machine, to make room for a stand alone Shower in the Laundry. Our only bathroom has a shower over the bath. So the extra shower is a much safer option too. I bought this one secondhand (in vgc, only used for a… Read more
few weeks a year, it came from a family's Holiday Apartment) because of the smaller dimensions & smaller footprint, (this one is 600 x 600mm our last W/m was 650x650mm (yet this new one was only 1kg less in load capacity).
This one s still plenty big enough to do large loads of washing.
After we sold our Airbnb house, we didn't need to do the guest laundry any more. Now I only need to do 2 or 3 loads a fortnight
I wanted to move the laundry basket from the bathroom into the laundry, to saves me lifting a full laundry basket thru 3 doorways.
* Small Footprint, ideal in a small laundry. *Yet it does large loads (7 - 8kg), once or twice a week for a Couple, or 2-3 loads/wk for a small family of 3 or 4. *Rinses well, even majority of PET HAIR (a rigorous shake gets rest). *Super QUIET SPIN Cycle, no rattle. *Lowest water use of all our W/M's, we saved over $800 on water in 1 year, from our previous water bill. *PLUS Soak Cycle for heavy duty work clothes, to soak heavy stained boy's or get stains out. *Gentle on clothes even on Regular wash + delicate cycle low speed spin for delicate fabrics AND for less ironing.
I haven't done any ironing in 15 years!! Any clothes that crease, go into our F&P dryer on wrinkle guard (even business shirts & pants, bcos..) Once they are dry, I spread them out to lay flat or put them on a hanger when they are still warm, straight out of the dryer.
BTW Adding a 2nd shower into the laundry, (our Country property) increased the Banks valuation by $85,000, as this changed our House from a 3br x 1bth to a 3br x 2bth on by the Banks Valuer.
We wouldn't have been able to fit everything I wanted in the laundry Reno without finding this smaller Washing Machine. Even the laundry basket and a broom cupboard to keep the messy stuff out of sight (vacuum cleaner + the mop & broom).
The BONUS benefits are this Washing Machine does a fantastic job, with everything that goes into it, I haven't had to re-wash anything since we bought it!!
It gives us VERY CLEAN CLOTHES. PLUS this is the quietest Spin Cycle ever, and I can soak any stains in the washing machine, instead of in buckets or the laundry tub.
If you can find one on Marketplace, grab it!! It's well worth it, no matter what price they're asking, it's an AWESOME machine, from the gentlest fabrics to the messiest work clothes!!!

Love the push buttons and the quick options – This is a great top loader machine. It takes about 5 seconds to put a load on. Great little song when it finishes. I usually wash clothes and towels and sheets seperately. Never had an issue with things not cleaning. I put delicate items in wash bags and have never had an issue. Standard cycle is about 45mins. Would recommend. Show details
Excellent washing machine – This is my 3rd time buying a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and they never disappoint. This is a fantastic washing machine. It does a large load, washing/rinsing beautifully. I've had this machine for 6 years and it's still going strong, even with almost daily use this whole time. The only downside is that while I wouldn't describe it as loud, you definitely know your machine is on and washing. Show details
Fantastic Washing Machine – Have owned it for 3 years now and it has never let me down. All functionality is as good as the day I purchased it, and so is the display. The feet are self-locking so you don't have to fool around manually increasing or decreasing the height when you are levelling it. You simply move the machine back or forward and the feet self-lock in that… Read more
position. It also comes with a small spirit-level to assist in getting the machine level. I use ECO mode all the time and it works perfectly, greatly saving water and power usage. A quiet washing machine that I highly recommend. Typical high-quality Fisher and Paykel appliance.

Great Machine – WE have had ours for 10 years now with no issues at all until today. .wont turn on . waiting for repairer to come to see what the problem is. However 10 years is in my opinion is fantastic. So cannot complain at all with this machine. Show details
Has been trouble free. Very reliable and easy to use – Wide range of washing options. Delicate cycle is gentle. Normal wash works well for dirty clothes. Speed, water temperature and hot/cold water can be easily adjusted. Very happy with previous F&P machine so bought another one.
User friendly – Always bought this brand. User friendly. Easy to keep clean. Lasts and lasts. Parents bought it too. Cares for your clothes. Trust this brand. Cant go wrong. Good price too Show details

A lemon – I am about to send this 8 year old machine to the tip. It has been nothing but trouble. The out of balance system failed soon after it was out of warranty. It stops and beeps every cycle. I could not find anyone to look at it and was quoted unseen an estimated price that was three quarters of the price of a new one and no warranty becase it was "a common point of failure" It now leaks so I am cutting my losses. No more F and P for me. Show details
A waste of materials and energy went into making the worst washing machine evey made – The worst washing machine I have ever en counted in my life time. Pain to spin anything as its always out of balance Now the seal and bearings have failed. I will never buy anything made by this company again
Never buy fisher paykal again don't last – Only 4 years old and the inlet valve needs replacing, few hundreds of dollars later while my previous other brand machine of 16 years never had problems and was sold on after moving in perfect condition. Show details

Always contact the customer care at F&P – Just a note to all the consumers out there. No matter how old your machine is ,always contact F&P to arrange a service. The labour cost may be more than "the guy down the road" but if you use them ,the work and parts are under warranty, also I KNOW for a fact that they sometimes help with out of warranty repairs provided their people are used, there… Read more
is also a consistent record of any repairs on the F&P computers.
Look at the back of the control panel,3 letters and a series of numbers will let them tell you the age of the machine.
Due to moving houses and selling fully furnished many times,I have had at least 5 different model washing machine and I love them!!!
Just had a electronic board replaced after a power surge, machine is 3 and a half years old, they covered the total repair.
I have this machine and it's just starting to be loud.. I've had it for 11 years..but it has been an awesome machine.. good timing cos I'm moving interstate.. time for a new one.. thx F&P Show details
Supposed to be 8.5 Kg. No Way!! more like 6kg. Can't do a large load.

I've had this washing machine for about 9 years when all of a sudden it started giving me an "Out of Balance" error. My previous Fisher & Paykel washing machine lasted 25 years. The guys at F&P were very helpful in trying to find the cause of the problem. They suggested I try the usual stuff like checking the level of the machine, drain pipes etc.… Read more
to no avail. Google reviews was pointing me to replace the suspension rods. I ordered a set of suspension rods from Electrical Supplies Australia Group and it arrived within 48 hours in spite of the effects of Cyclone Alfred. I replaced the rods (myself) after watching a YouTube video and hey presto - it works like a charm. It took about an hour to complete the repair and it cost me $64.90 (incl delivery). So, don't panic if you are experiencing the same issue and don't throw out this beautiful washing machine.
Pathetic useless excuse for a machine – Putrid waste of space of a household appliance causes more work than ever, tears my clothes up even when I turn down the speed, then I gotta deal with the clothes not drying on the line all day, lint all over my clothes after a couple washes with vinegar and baking soda, so bloody sick of this machine.
Fisher & Paykel not lasting anywhere near long enough - diminishing longevity – After 3 Fisher & Paykel washing machines, I am throwing the towel in :-( I cannot trust the reliability of their Top Load Washing machines anymore. We have purchased Fisher & Paykel Top Load Washing machines over the years, but no longer. . Reliability heading down the drain -------------------------------------- Family members machine still… Read more
going at 18 years, Our first machine lasted 12 years, Our second machine lasted 9 years, Our current one, a measly 7 years, almost to the day! . The machine worked flawlessly, then suddenly, we went to turn it on and nothing, not a single light, beep, or ounce of life. There was no power surge, no power interruption, nothing, the machine just fails to power on. I have checked service sites, tried all the reset tricks known, even pulled the board out to check for burnt out components or blown fuses, nothing shows up as an obvious fault. . For a fairly top end machine in terms of cost, this is less than acceptable. . Others also are saying reliability is declining ------------------------------------------------ The forums and product reviews are filled with people replacing their old Fisher & Paykel washing machines with newer models and having the same experience, namely that they are not lasting anywhere near as long as they used to. They are also vacating the brand. . Diminishing features and competitiveness ---------------------------------------------- It seems that Fisher & Paykel are losing the battle with energy star ratings and features. Other brands are innovating with things like changed agitator designs, some even spin the drum itself, smart features in terms of household integration and reporting. Spin speed seems to be the only area where Fisher & Paykel are still ahead but reports of higher spin speeds causing creased clothes negates any so called advantage. . Customer satisfaction and brand loyalty diminishing also -------------------------------------------------------------- When we purchased our last Fisher & Paykel 7 years ago, Fisher & Paykel were number 2 in customer brand loyalty, now they are struggling to hold onto 4th position. Fisher & Paykel - you seriously need to look at the direction you are headed in, your going the wrong way! . I'm ditching Fisher & Paykel and going with Samsung ------------------------------------------------------------ Samsung have now received my hard earned money this time, Fisher & Paykel will not grace our laundry anymore, not unless I see an uptick in their reliability as experienced by others. . Fisher & Paykel, whatever you have done in terms of manufacturing over the past 10 years, you seriously need to review your practices, your reliability appears to be sinking. . ..........................................LIFT YOUR GAME Fisher & Paykel................................................
Rubbish fisher and paykel – This company is not what it once was, it had a reputation for quality and good service, not any more in my opinion. I purchased the 8.5 kg washsmart eco 4.5 years ago. I’ve had the same problems of it going out of balance twice. First time fixed under warranty. Tech and Harvey Norman said it’s a known issue, wish I had known about it before I… Read more
purchased this machine. If they had put a message on the sign saying only last a few years I would not have bought this machine. Now they are not interested in fixing their design fault. Do not buy a F&P they will only last a few years and the the company will wash their hands of you. 1 star and an extra star for the nice lady I spoke with today.
fins have broken – I've had it for 3 years and the fins have all broken off this year. I will take the advice of another reviewer and try to find a second hand one that I can pilfer the central agitator from. At least it's easy to replace. There's a tutorial on the F&P website and I will be able to do it myself. Other than that it's a good washing machine. Show details
Broken agitator – Had the machine for around 4 years. As with other reviewers, the agitator fins have started snapping off. I bought a Fisher and Paykel because I thought it would be good quality. Now, after only 4 years, I have a broken washing machine. Shall avoid Fisher and Paykel in future. So disappointing. Show details
This was great but now dead! – 8 years old and now lifeless, won't be buying another FP machine! Show details
Feel ripped off – This machine only washes in cold water no matter if you select hot or warm. The only way to get a warm wash is on hypoallergenic cycle. I suffered the embarrassment of getting it checked out when I noticed only cold water on warm wash, and was told there’s only a dribble of hot to dissolve the detergent. This is false advertising. The other… Read more
problem is it has no lint filter and the clothes are always covered in lint, which is extremely annoying. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
Terrible washing machine – Had the springs replaced twice as well and then motor due to the machine continually unbalancing. This was all within the first 6 months of owning the machine. It's now just out of warranty and it has started to unbalance again. The soft close lid no longer soft closes and slams shut on your fingers . The spin cycle is incredibly noisy! Would… Read more
never buy another! If I'd have realised that Fisher and Paykel was now Chinese made and owned, I would not have bought!

don't ever let a salesperson talk you into this machine like I done – The machine is very noisy, washing come out with lint all it no matter what you wash, had to get the repair person come out to do a repair on it of new rods in the drum, I wasn't going to call them as I was Informed they may be a charge even though the machine was only 8 weeks old, if the repairer didn't find anything wrong I could end up with a… Read more
bill for just over $200 glad to say that didn't happen but Please do let the salesperson talk you into this machine as it's rubbish, I bought a fisher & paykel about 9 years ago and had a great run but Not with the new one, I am now saving up to buy myself another machine but NOT this make the worst machine ever.
Fisher & Paykel Agitator broken – Breaking of Agitator fin is a common problem with the Fisher & Paykel washing machine. Will the Fisher & Paykel company ever realise that the Agitator with flimsy plastic fins is not a good idea? It entangles while working and breaks it off after a while.
Don't Waste Your Time, Fisher and Paykel aren't worth the premium – First washing machine we purchased was a Simpson, which died after 6 years, went into Harvey Norman and got told Fisher & Paykel are a better machine and are worth the $400 premium over the Simpson that I had, will definitely last longer. Had no issues until 4 years and 11 months when a fin on the agitator snapped, had it replaced with a month… Read more
left on the extended warranty, now just 4 months out of warranty it won't turn on and Fisher and Paykel couldn't give a damn. If I had known I would get 5 years out it I would never have purchased a more expensive machine.
And sadly Fisher & Paykels customer service is appalling, they effectively said tough s#it, it lasted 5 years, and you can tell they don't care, as they haven't commented on any of these reviews like other manufacturers do.
I will not buy another Fisher & Paykel product again, and will tell anyone who considers buying one to keep their distance.
Mostly washed well but had some problems – Melted the top of the drum in the first month washing bedding. Lasted 5 years then control panel burnt out. Replacement will cost the same as buying a new machine. Show details
Not the best F&P machine – Not sure how ECO is it and uses a lot of water. Doesnt wash clothes as well as my old Kevinator/F&P. Goes off balance and now needs a new suspension after only 4 years use! Show details
Fins Again – 1 of the fins broke but I’ve had the machine 7 years. Having said that I’m still surprised. I’ve had several machines & did the washing for my family from age of 12 & I’ve never seen or know of a fin breaking in any other machine I’ve worked with. In the first 6 years I had a service man out because the rinse cycle was too quick. I considered… Read more
buying a replacement agitator but I feel from the other reviews that would be a waste of money Won’t buy another F&P
Fisher & Paykel Washing machine – I have purchased a few of these machines over the last 20 years both for myself and my family and keep coming back to them because any service required on them is relatively inexpensive. I have a serviceman who knows the machines inside out and repairs them at a reasonable price. Items stuck in the pump is common but less than 3 minutes to fix. They are reasonably priced and of good quality. Show details
First and only washing machine I have owned lasted more than 13years and still going – Intuitive, ergonomic, easy to use, quiet, intelligent. Set out to buy modern quality washing machine and, with the exception of an initial faulty circuit board which was replaced free of charge under warranty, have not been disappointed. 13 plus years and still going strong ! My First Washing Machine 13 Years Old and Still Going Strong – Intuitive, ergonomic, intelligent, quiet, easy to use, modern, stylish, quality. I set out to buy a modern, quality washing machine that would last for more than 10plus years and, with the exception of having the circuit board replaced under warranty at about the 12 month mark, I have not been disappointed. 13 plus years on it is still going strong my first and only washing machine so far. Ready for the Tip after 3 years – After years of using Westinghouse appliances I thought I would try Fisher & Paykel. second time it broke down!. A couple of months out of warranty and that's when it got expensive. Broke down again outside of warranty, got a repairman and paid for the part along with all the mornings taken off from work to wait for a repairman.. Year later again and the balance nodules are gone, this time repairman $136 parts $400. Time to say goodbye. Cost of machine $900 Cost of repairs not including warranty ones if I had of paid for them all and not sent it to the tip- $800. Have since bought an Asko.
Faulty Product – This machine has put holes in our tshirts since we started using it, wish I could add photos, had it checked for issues but it's a design fault apparently, the agitator is dragging the fabric & its pinching causing holes in the fabric. The more we wash our tshirts holes get worse Show details
So disappointed – I have had Fisher and Paykel washing machines for as long as I can remember. Our old one packed it in after more than 15 years so of course, with such a great track record, we purchased another... Bad decision. The components under the lid are cheap and tacky. The lid where the powder is placed does not fit well. A service technician is coming… Read more
out on Wednesday to see why the auto water level only fills to a small wash level. Clothes dont wash as well and the spin cycle is not as good as it has been in the past. Clothes used to be quite dry, not any more. It is also ver noisy on the spin cycle. One of the reasons I loved my previous machines was the quiet...not any more. I would recommend you buy something else.
Buy something else – Very dissapointed in new Fisher and Paykel washing machine compared to previously owned prior models. We have owned this one for over 2 1/2 years now so had plenty of time to be objective about it. Broke down within the first 3 months. Repaired under warranty but took almost 2 weeks to get somebody here. No lint filter. Clothes come out with lint… Read more
stuck to them now. Water level presets are set to give 3.5 star water rating, not to efficiently wash clothes. Need to manually select water level Destroying all hubby's t-shirts. Slowing but surely twisting them all out of shape. Only happening with t-shirts, not other clothes. So far. Somehow the plastic around the drum has self destructed. All chewed up but doesn't stop the machine working. Positive - capacity is good. Anyone want a cheap washing machine? Going to find something else.
