Rust rust rust – This machine broke down shortly after the warranty ran out. A few weeks later the front panel and the base frame started to rust so we approached FP directly. They refused to do anything about it. It has now broken down completely after about 7 years and the rust has extended to cover a large part of the machine. Never again FP.

Be warned about F&P machines – We have owned a prior version of this machine for five years, used by a family of five with young children = daily washes with pretty full loads each time. Model WH60F60. It worked well generally for most of the time. Good washes, good spin, average noise for a washing machine (by no means "quiet"), not too wrinkled clothing, clothes… Read more

sufficiently dry. Good short cycle (60 mins) that washed well enough. Neat 3 sec delay prior to cycle starting in case you wanted to add something or change cycle.

However, after five years' use it has died. I note that the average Australian washing machine is surveyed to last 8.5 years.

Minor faults to start with like cracked plastic buttons. At about 4 years old the door had to be replaced (plastic, yes plastic, door hinges broke). Then in the fifth year the quality of the wash deteriorated...not spinning properly and very wet washes, then just water fill, nothing, then water drain...no drum rotation. Called service man who came three times with different parts. Then he stated it was unfixable, and that we have to get a new machine.

In seeking to fix this machine we note that the service from F&P was quite prompt and helpful, though we had to wait 2 weeks for a part to arrive.

Door handle hinge broke – The door handle hinge has been playing up for 2 years now. Finally it gave up the ghost! For a movable part I was surprised it was made from brittle plastic. Never again. It rinsed well but was hard on the clothes. Saves water but you had to have a full load to start so to me that isn't saving. I'm going for a top loader this time Washed well Easily became rusty at door. Door hinge broke because made of brittle plastic. Unable to change load size

Bad – Saves water, Wash times too long, not very kind on clothes particularly towels. Don't know whether I will get a front loader next time I get a new washer not unless I can get improved performance from it. It is easy to use and the manual is ok It seems since I bought this that washing, towels in particular are getting harder and harder. I have… Read more

tried fabric softener and it does not seem to make any difference. Also spots do not seem to come out and often need extra cleaning after they came out of the wash. My top loader which lasted many years was a superior washer. Maybe some advice on washing powder??

Never again!!!!!! – Could not get a rapairman {one of theirs} because not busy enough. Couldnt get part needed. couldnt even get them on the phone! the quick cycle seal traps water, only they can repair, no customer service, badly designed.

Excellent – Best performing washing machine I ever had. We bought the 6kg Front Load Fisher & Paykel Washing Machine WH60F60W3 and have been pleasantly surprised. Easy to use after reading the manual (which is easy to understand). Very quiet, produces clean clothes.
