Fitbit One

Very satisfied – I wanted something that I could conceal so I could still wear my own jewelry so I'm very happy that I can clip it to my bra or waist band or pop it in to my pocket. I like that I can charge it and I don't have to buy one of the small round silver batteries. It's user friendly and very easy to read the daily data. Show details
Simple and Stylish – I know these are a passing phase and I'm late to the game with this but I love it! It is basic and easy to use which is perfect for me as I'm really interested in tech. It is a good motivator to keep moving about and it is amazing how it makes me want to challenge myself without having to think about it too much. The down side is that it doesn't always seem to be 100% accurate but it gives me a good enough idea of my activity level. Show details
Great if you don't want to wear the arm band – I didn't really like the look of the watches and with my sensitive skin I wasn't sure how I would react to wearing rubber 24/7 around my wrist. This product was perfect for me because I could clip it to my bra, pockets, belt hook, etc. When I had this clipped to my bra strap I did start to get itchy rash from where my skin came into contact with… Read more
the silicone so I'm so glad I didn't get the watch. When this happens I just switched around the location where I had the fitbit clipped on.
The battery lasted ages as well and this model is much suitable to the other clip on as it charges by the plug rather than having to buy the small round battery.
Counts steps well – I've found that it counts my steps very accurately when it's attached to my pocket. I enjoy using the sleep tracker but I bought an aftermarket wrist band as I didn't like the one supplied with it which was already showing signs of wear and tear after two weeks of use. The pocket clip is excellent!! I've never had a problem with it sliding… Read more
off a pocket and I wear heaps of quick dry clothing and it stays clipped to my pocket very well when I'm cycling. It stays attached extremely well I would say.
The one problem I have had is trying to see the time on it when I'm out on bright daylight. I have to bring it closer to see it and this isn't great when I'm cycling, I have to stop to check the time.
Very good, love it! – I bought this about 1.5 years ago ... very good and easy to use (once you have connected to the computer) Being so small it is great as no one else has to see it ... I prefer this a lot to the watches that are out there, thanks a lot Show details
Better than wearing any fitness watch – This product is great and I am never without it (except while showering) I even bag it and swim with it. I have had it over 3 years and use it daily without exception. Just put it in your pocket and forget about it. Out of sight out of mind. And you can wear a different watch (dress or other sporty looking) as appropriate. Better than always having to wear (the same) fitness watch every day. Show details
Keeps you motivated! – A very good device for keeping you motivated and the sleep tracker has made me more conscious of the hours I have slept. I use this with a heart rate monitor when I go running and an App call Runkeeper to further monitor my exercise. I had a problem with the display fading and eventually going blank over a period of a few days. The Fitbit… Read more
One was about 17 months old and therefore 5 months over the standard one warranty. Contacted Fitbit about the problem and they replaced the device without question - so the customer service is excellent.
Does the Job – Got this fitbit to help up my steps an its dine just that with easy to use functions not that i use all of them it connects to phone quickly which saves on time it does come sleep mode and band for you wrist ivw never used it. It does not do well if it gets wet or damp Show details
Counting my steps – My Fitbit one was a replacement of my other Fitbit alta. It has fallen off my clothing a few times, which I noticed, but luckily found it once near my car on return. Battery lasts well, about a week. Recharges quick. Easy to link and update iPad. Only thing I don't like is with the sleep activity , you need to activate it nightly and switch off on waking up. It's handy esp if you remember to carry it with you!! – I'm loving my One and thankfully haven't had any problems losing it yet... I attach it with the clip onto my bra on the underside so I don't accidentally lose it as I have before when forgetting it was there and nearly threw it in the wash!! I have had it with me whilst biking, gym workouts, group gym sessions, etc and it has not once come off my… Read more
bra so I do recommend the ladies try this if you're afraid to lose it! Having it on the bra is also handy as I have it clipped so that I can read the screen without having to twist it around and as it has a small display, having it connected to my bra helps with reading the screen easier too! For the males, I recommend clipping it inside your pocket as it grips well and I have clipped it to my pockets before however I am a little cautious having it there as I am a little forgetful and tend to forget to empty out my pockets before I do the laundry but if you're on top of your laundry game then I would definitely recommend using a shirt pocket first and perhaps pant pocket second..
The wireless syncing to my computer works very well once you set it up which did take a little longer than I thought esp seeing as though it doesn't require much to setup to track your progress but I guess it has all those other functions like connecting to other fitbit users!
I found that the battery life lasts a ridiculously long time, I'd say at least a week without requiring to keep it charged!!. The bluetooth sync has worked perfectly from day one to my phone and I love having the app to show all my progress as well as comparing it to my friends and competing with them!! It's an awesome motivator that I chose to use instead of the pedometer on my smartphone because with the phone I have to ensure I carry around with me everywhere! I can't afford a smartwatch (well a decent one anyway) so the fitbit was my best option!
Ever Since I've had the fitbit, I'm always striving to hit my 10,000 steps per day especially when I have my friends and colleagues connected to me and we compete to see who is more active each week! It's a great way to keep you staying physically fit and also allows you to have something to discuss with to your colleagues at work!
Great subtle device, but easily forgotten – Great tracker to place on my belt clip. Mine was quiet accurate out of the box. Using the app you can find your friends who are also part of the FitBit community. I find lots of friends having full motivation at the start then lose motivation to never to return. Since the device is on the belt of in my pocket, I find that i forget to either bring… Read more
it with me or forget to take it off and put in my current outfit. The band versions may be useful for more people here.
Batteries use to last for two weeks, then one week, now after a year of using it, it lasts a few days.
The best – I have had my Fitbit One for just over two years and it still works perfectly! I did have a little hassle where it stopped working because I let it go flat for a period of time, however this issue was very easily and quickly resolved by the wonderful help desk team at Fitbit, and they were able to tell me how to fix it. I love how it tracks sleep… Read more
as well, I think this is an excellent added bonus to just tracking steps etc.
Also I don't like the look of the fitbit watches so I am very pleased they have the small Fitbit One that you can just tuck away so no one sees it! Certainly recommend this product to anyone wanting motivation to get fit!!
Good idea, but bad case desighn – In theory a good idea but you have to remove it from the case to charge it - so eventually you lose it. I don't want to have to replace it every year...so I give up on FitBit. Originally had the flex but it gives me a rash on my wrist, and apparently others have the same problem. Show details

Good for a little thing – The Fitbit one is good for those who don't like chunky worst bands, I'm one of those. I put it in my bra, but found I got irritated with it being directly on my skin. The gadget requires skin contact in order to get an accurate reading. Pretty good all and all Show details
disappointed! – 16th January - received my fitbit one from Port Hedland HN - delay in delivery was AusPost at their best[:/] - in fact Harvey Norman person called me to make sure I had received it!! Very Nice! 13th february - the rubber[material on clip] became lost - it is so difficult to attach the clip to anything now - frustrating! The 'case' on the… Read more
'clip' is also a bit dodgy as the fitbit one can and does come out - having said that - it is the most convenient way to use the monitor
I was also disappointed after installing the monitor to my telephone, to learn from the information provided that a heart rate monitor would be more effective in correctly analyzing daily movements and exercise - nowhere was this available BEFORE I purchased the monitor - also disappointed that a model with the heart rate monitor is not available other than with a wrist band - not practical for truly active people - ok - if only exercise is at a gym or a morning/afternoon run....not if you are a physically active person, doing all types of activities each day
cheap and nasty - definitely overpriced - information wanting – January 16th I received my fitbit one - I chose this as I am VERY active - February 20th - clip on fitbit lost it's cover - fitbit one object[3cm x 1cm] slips out of casing - luckily I haven't lost it!!! now, it falls off of clothing and hair[I clip to my hair as I don't change that as often as my clothing] - which has weakened the fitbit… Read more
holder/casing....not even two months into this and it's falling apart - the dishon esty of the fitbit company is apalling - there are NO comparisons within their OWN site promoting the heart rate monitor[which would be one of the necessary - but, do they care? obviously not - just GREEDY]...there are other products that are cheaper and offer more monitoring than this over rated object - very disappointing - not even two months old and the darn thing can't remain clipped to your clothing as promoted.....difficult to contact.....must be American...as it is inferior....
Four Fitbits down, time to move on – Purchased my 1st Fitbit Ultra in Sep 12.Great motivational tool and discreet to wear, clipping onto a bra as most clothing doesn't have a pocket or belt. Lost two to water, leaving it clipped while walking at the beach and then diving in.. Another to a spa as trying to maximize steps, left it attached while walking upstairs to relax and read and… Read more
eventually went in the spa, totally forgetting to remove it from the shoulder strap of my swimmers. Two more Fitbit One's have been lost to the washing machine. I loved the silent wake up alarm and rather than wearing the hot wrist cuff I just clipped to my PJ's. Twice now in a rush I have quickly put the washing on and scooped up the PJ's with Fitbit still attached
The clip on the One is very firm and quite hard to get clipped on and off your clothes. The rubber ends up bunching and the smooth plastic tip breaks off leaving two prongs of metal. The wristband flex isn't suitable as I don't want people to know I'm wearing it and there were some issues with allergic reactions which I also encounter with metals. Not sure what the answer is for me as I enjoyed the Fitbit connection with a friend overseas.I think I'll have to wait for a smaller waterproof step tracking watch suitable for a female who doesn't want a huge watch. So just give a thought to how careful you are with your tracker. My husband also lost his for a month when it transferred to the seatbelt of the car from his pocket. He now wears it clipped inside the pocket not outside.
great device – I got my first fitbit one in 2013. I loved it, found it very motivating to get me moving. Sleep monitor accuracy wasn't that great but I wanted it mainly for keeping count of my steps so that didn't bother me. Unfortunately I lost it after about 18 months when it fell off. Fitbit don't have a way of returning lost/found fitbits in Australia, and… Read more
when I complained about that on their online community, they ended up sending me a replacement fitbit one, which was great. Had it for around 18 months again when I lost it last week :-( I knew I had to stay aware of making sure it was properly attached to my clothing but somehow I once again lost it. Decided to upgrade to another fitbit device which was waterproof so I could wear it swimming - that was a disaster (have just written a review on my experience with the fitbit flex 2 - a piece of garbage if ever there was one. I've now gone to Garmin and after I've given the new device a workout, will write a review on it.
Waste of Money – For $123 this is nothing more than an overpriced, misrepresented toy which functions no more effectively (for step counts) or accurately than my decade-old $7 pendulum-type pedometer. I bought this tracker primarily to check my sleep hygiene as I suffer from a severely dysfunctional sleep pattern known as "N-24". Despite its advertising material… Read more
citing that it tracks both the duration and "quality" of your sleep, this is untrue. It does nothing more than record whether or not your non-dominant arm moves during the night. Thus the only graphical data available is simply whether or not you're awake (because your arm moves!) or asleep because it doesn't. Obviously this is nonsensical pseudo-science, and oversimplified, and cannot give even vaguely accurate results of your real-world sleep patterns.
The sting in the tail however is that FitBit have the gall to charge you an extra $59.95 to purchase the device's fully functional software—which obviously makes the One's true purchase price $182.95. The purchaser is not made aware of this either in the One's advertising material, or by its retailers. Without this additional software, you can't access the full data set or the whimsically-named dashboard's graphical representations resulting from its various test functions.
From an intuitive and physical viewpoint, the One is a truly clumsy device to use. Its silicone belt/bra holder utilises a very tight, inflexible metal mounting clip, and at night you have to take it out of the holder and slip into a truly cheap and nasty 'velcro' wristband—which is virtually impossible to fit on snugly using only your opposing hand. As for the quality of the One's recorded data—forget its accuracy on a day-to-day basis! Same routine on consecutive days and nights can produce results across the board that may vary by up to 50 per cent. Even simple sleeping/awake patterns are sometimes, literally, hours away from reality.
There's no way I could recommend this FitBit One to any potential purchaser, and after a 72-hour trial, I'll be returning mine to Officeworks—who, luckily for me, have a return/refund policy.
Great little device! – I've used the fitbit one for 3 months now and it's been great so far. I love that its so small that no-one realises you're wearing it. The battery lasts for weeks at a time and the sleep monitor is a great tool to see how much sleep you are getting and how often you are restless through the night. I've encouraged friends and family to buy a fitbit one because they are so good.
Perfect starter unit – This was the first fitbit I purchased and I loved using it. It was always accurate and easily synced with my android device. Just clip it to your pocket and go! I love the tracking stats in the app and that it integrates well with other fitness apps such as endomondo. I had my fitbit for 12 months till I bent the arm on the clip it goes into.… Read more
Harvey Norman offered me a $10 upgrade to a Charge as it happened under warranty. Otherwise I'd still be using this unit. Recommend!
Outstanding Customer Service – Dashboard and android app have all the info you need. Syncing seamless. Stairs climbed seems accurate. Not sure how they do that given that I would that thought you're just bobbing up and down whether you're walking up or down stairs so pretty impressed by that. Calories Burned seems pretty random given that it supposedly takes into account your… Read more
resting calories which they can't possibly know with any degree of accuracy and it gives you a different result every day even when the unit is not moved. Sleep tracker only tracks movement, not quality of sleep, so of limited use but I had already researched that you can't expect this as it's not a heart monitor so I don't use this function. Unit died after 6 months and I was ready to try another brand but the customer service I received was outstanding. Immediate responses to my emails and no fuss at all. They could have taken a hard line but they used common sense and provided a replacement free of charge. Customer Service is so rare in a company these days that it's a big part in the decision of any purchase I make and I have to give them a shoutout for it. Very happy to give Fitbit One another go as I was very happy with it before it died.

Brilliant! – This device is fantastic. I get all the information I need about how well I am doing on a daily basis and the incentive to maintain a greater level of fitness is immeasurable. AND on top of that, the customer service from this company is THE best I have ever come across - ever.
Disillusioned in Toronto – Seemed like a great little device, but the accuracy has been very disappointing. I just finished the same walk that I did yesterday, and there was a .3 of a mile difference in the distance. I constantly find the number of floors climbed and the number of steps taken way off. The sleep tracking isn't the slightest bit close to reality either. It… Read more
really doesn't live up to the expectation. It's no better, and maybe worse, than the old fashioned pedometers, but at a much greater cost.
This is a step back, not forward.
Oh ya, and the calories tracker is totally bizarre!
Grossly overpriced piece of rubbish – I have a Fitbit flex. For a start, getting it on and off is a major hassle with the ridiculously difficult clip. What genius thought that type of fastener up??? Trying to get into the dashboard is another huge problem, despite having the icon on my computer, and when that fails as it invariably does, going to the Fitbit website and trying to… Read more
log in is almost nearly impossible. Why? Because there is NO log in available, and don't try to contact Fitbit directly. because, guess what, there is NO 'contact us'.
Don't buy one it doesn't last! – Mine died after 6 months. Check out their webpage and fb forums for hundreds of people experiencing the same thing. Would be a great product if it didn't need to be replaced every 6 months. Even 12 months isn't good enough for a pedometer.
Great Product Loved It !! – I loved the design of the FitBit flex. I found that it accurately tracked my sleep patterns as well as my daytime movement. The distance covered is probably not the most accurate in the world, but the same as most pedometers. For tracking everyday fitness regimes though its very very good. The battery lasts well. The Iphone app it comes with… Read more · 1
is very easy to use and it has a great battery life.
It also has real time syncronisation to mobile devices and a LED progress bar on the wristband that can be quite addictive in getting you motivated for the days workout.
Even better its waterproof, so you dont have to worry about taking it off while in the shower or swimming.
Highly recommended Good value for money and waterproof nothing
Flex is inaccurate – I bought the flex band and it is totally inaccurate. I spole to fitbit twice and reset the band. I type three days a wedl and do mo exercise on those days and appRently u cN wear the flex and it will not register typing. Well i have wLked 9000 steps today without leaving my seat. Bitterly disappointed. WTerproof Totally inaccurTe and service inable to help. Kust lept telling me to reset it.
Great for girls – I've been calorie counting for a while and was getting told that I should be eating more to break a plateau. Having a desk job I was concerned with eating more when I wasn't burning too much off, which is why I started looking at the Fitbit. Its great and my weight has started dropping again! It measures your daily activity (as well as your… Read more
sleep) to give you an idea of calories burned and what calories you can still eat to loose weight (at three different levels). It sync's with MyFitnessPal or you can use it's own monitor to log food.
Looking at other reviews around it seems a lot of people lose them by clipping them on their pockets. As a girl its far easier (and less likely to get lost) by clipping it onto your bra. For any guys considering it there's a fitbit flex coming out soon which you wear on your write (like the Nike fuelband) so you might want to look at this instead... Good value, great programme on PC & Smartphone, Syncs with MFP, Great for competing against yourself on step/calorie/stair goals.
