Dealing with Gabby at Creatmead Fortress Collision was one of the best service people I’ve dealt with. My repair was complicated and included extra mechanical work and services to which Gaby handled in a professional, courteous and helpful manner. Always doing that bit extra to help me as I wasn’t in the area at the time. The work was also completed ahead of time. Happily recommend this company.
I had my Hyundai Kona Electric repaired through Fortress Collision Repair Services as part of an insurance claim, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. From the beginning, the process lacked transparency and consistency. I… Read more
received multiple automated updates stating the vehicle was progressing through stages (strip, repair, paint, refit) and was on track for completion. However, these updates did not reflect reality.
On 16 February 2026, I was contacted and told the vehicle was ready. When I attended the workshop on 20 February, the vehicle was clearly not ready, with incomplete work and visible issues, particularly with paint quality. This was both misleading and a complete waste of my time.
A major concern was how the vehicle was handled while in their care. Both the 12V battery and high-voltage system were left completely flat, which is unacceptable for an electric vehicle. Proper battery maintenance is critical, and this raises serious questions about the level of care taken.
The situation worsened when the vehicle had to be sent to Lakes Hyundai for further issues. While I was initially told this was for a battery health check, it later became apparent there were additional faults (including steering-related issues and fault codes) that were not clearly disclosed.
There also appeared to be long periods where little to no work was carried out, contributing to ongoing delays well beyond the original completion timeframe. These delays were not just due to the original hail damage, but due to rework and quality issues.
Overall, my experience included:
Misleading advice about vehicle readiness
Poor communication and lack of transparency
Substandard repair quality requiring rework
Concerns about how the vehicle was stored and maintained
Additional stress, inconvenience, and ongoing delays
Given the complexity of modern electric vehicles, I expected a higher standard of care and professionalism.
Unfortunately, this experience fell well short of expectations, and I would not recommend this repairer based on my experience.
Follow-up · Since my original review, the situation has actually worsened - and after 5 months, I still do not have my car back The vehicle had multiple paint defects across different panels, not just one area, and had to be reworked due to poor workmanship. And damage to interior itiems that should have not even needed to be touch What should have been a… Read more
Horrible. Worst repairers ever. Kick people while they are down
Put my car in on Monday advised it would be there till Friday only I kept calling constantly to find out what was happening then advised it would be either next Monday or Tuesday so Today is Xmas eve and they didn’t even have the decency to call and tell me it still wouldn’t be ready so to bad if I needed it for Xmas day to travel anywhere or… Read more
advise me so I could make arrangements ! now the website says opens next Thursday so thanks Fortress for your “in my opinion”very bad customer service service at least you could of advised me what was going on i didn’t bother calling or trying to call you because you advised you would call me and you can never get through to you.
Do yourself a favor and carry out the repairs on your own. You will get a better result than what Fortress Collisions Springwood can achieve. These cowboys will ‘attempt’ to repair a should have been written off vehicle, then give it back to you… Read more
worse than after the accident, completely ignore your attempts of communication afterwards to even giving you the wrong email address for their own company!
Way too much bullshiz to list!
But from no mechanical work being carried out at all, to half assed installation of wrong parts with less than half the amount of required clips, leaving a brand new part in my car for me to fit myself, STEALING parts from my vehicle enabling the light bar inoperative and no park lights at all, to mismatched light bulbs, to power/computer tripping, to leaving cords dangling over the hot engine, to lying about what work they did and did not do! Car is now dangerously unsafe to drive yet apparently it’s fixed… An absolute joke of a “business”.
Follow-up · No quote was ever given. Apparently that was just something else management followed up on and couldn't explain. I unfortunately brought my vehicle here due to it being Youi’s choice of repairer in the area. I should have read the reviews first and I never would have taken it there. Damage was to the front/passenger side including the tyre and… Read more
Zero stars My car was damaged in an accident I was not at fault for. I was comphrensively insured with aami. This repairer is aamis choice. This repairer wrote my car off by looking at 1 photo. They never physically saw my car. EDIT: apparently, assessments are now all done via photos, and not by physically inspection. It's all about money.
Had to use Fortress as our Insurance provider uses then. Expensive. Car returned dirty inside. Seat was down?? Dirt over headrests. No petrol left in car. 2 weeks late. Offered $50 for 5 star review. Would not recommend.
“I really don’t understand why a repairer can’t fix a car even after half a year, and receiption has such a bad attitude, called thousands of times to check, still nothing.
My advice - stay away from Fortress Collision! In my experience, they are unable to complete even minor repairs in a timely and efficient manner to a quality standard, to any standard really. My frustrating and stress inducing experience - I… Read more
received non existent customer service, contradictory information, lengthy delays, inadequate assessment, incomplete repairs, no quality control and costly car hire due to their poor time management. More than 7 months and the required repairs are still outstanding and fixes necessary to poor workmanship. Suncorp sent my car to Fortress Collision at Crestmead for minor repairs. They assessed 3 weeks turnaround. After 6 weeks they said it would be another 6 to 8 weeks as two minor parts were outstanding. I took the car on condition I return it when the parts were received. 13 weeks later (after I chased them up) the car was booked for final repairs - they had the wrong parts. More than 3 months later and no follow up from them; I called them. They said the final repairs were done in April - no further information on the job. In the meantime, I had complained to Suncorp who told me to get quotes from elsewhere. They said they would arrange a tow truck and care hire and get it fixed asap. I took it to my dealer who assessed the repairs. The bumper bar has not been fitted correctly and the windscreen washer bottle is broken (original damage from accident). The paintwork on the bumper is rough and unfinished and they suspect there are other issues not readily visible. The dealer advised Suncorp to return the vehicle to the collision repairer to have the repairs completed properly. Suncorp assessor left the company and last entry on my claim is that the dealer has been approved to complete the repairs despite dealer advice that they won't complete the repair due to poor workmanship; and expectation of further issues. Unbeknown to me nothing was happening. No-one at Suncorp has followed up on the claim. Care factor is NIL! Fortress and Suncorp have both failed to provide adequate service. In addition, Fortress's inability to complete the work in a timely manner cost me $3,000 in car hire - twice what it should have been. 7 months later and no-one at Suncorp is managing my claim. Fortress are getting back to me. Read both websites - they sound great and just what you need when things go wrong - good marketing words but in reality no-one cares. Their work is managed by people who answer phones, the front line who apologise for the unsatisfactory work they do but have no authority to do anything about your complaint other than pass on information. That's if you have time to wait for hours to talk to someone. What has happened to good honest workmanship and effective customer service? It's not rocket science.
Follow-up · I would have expected the car to be repaired to an acceptable level within the scheduled timeframe . I spoke with Suncorp about the issues with Fortress and they directed Fortress to rectify the problems. I passed the dealer's assessment to Suncorp who approved the dealership to complete the outstanding work. The dealership advised Suncorp to take… Read more
It’s not often people jump online to leave a positive review, but after the experience I had with Fortress Collision at Ormeau, I had to! From start to finish, the team was absolutely fantastic. I received regular text updates throughout the repair process, which kept me fully in the loop, and I was back behind the wheel much faster than… Read more
expected.
Despite my Mazda’s tricky deep metallic paint, the finish is flawless. Honestly better than the factory. The colour match and blend are seamless.
Tianae was a friendly voice on the phone, and Scott, the manager, went out of his way to answer all my questions and make sure I was 100% happy with the end result.
Huge thanks to the Fortress Ormeau team. I highly recommend them! :)
I would not recommend taking your car here. Fortress had my car for close to 3 months. They were unable to find replacements parts that I then had to source myself. I was asked to pick up my car when ready only to find they had still not finished the repair and then had to wait another 3 weeks for them to complete the work. And they also damaged… Read more
the car while there and had to repair the damage they did. We have lodged a formal complaint with the insurance company.
No problem with the quality of their work…however I have issues with their Admin with RACQ and their inability to resolve an internal problem with payment of Excess…I paid my excess to RACQ but due to some “glitch “ they couldn’t confirm it..even though I showed them the payment on my iPhone. confirm that I had paid my excess. I therefore had to pay my $750 excess to them again in order for them to “release” (Ransom) my vehicle. They are also still charging me for a Euro car hire even though I never actually accepted my “free” Hire and a car was not accepted by me. Avoid if you possibly can!

I’m not going to write a big paragraph about all the wrong things this company do because I think the previous reviews say enough. But please do not take your car here, especially if you’re a woman! The workers are extremely biased and will make you feel uncomfortable. I will leave photos below of our car AFTER repairs. Please keep in mind, my ETA… Read more
was a 3 month wait.
I received my car back 2 days ago and now cannot use it due to it not being compliant with Australian safety standards. The backseats aren’t even secured down and the hybrid battery is exposed. This was done at the Crestmead mechanics. When I seen the state of the car I cried. All the assessor had to say was “sorry” and walked an away.
We also have photos of the car at the time of the crash that shows the rusted marks and sun damage was NEVER there. I will leave another review above with proof.

We recently had the unfortunate experience of both our vehicles being damaged through no fault of our own. It was a stressful situation, but Fortress Collision Repair made the entire process seamless and stress-free. From the moment we walked in, their team was professional, courteous, and incredibly helpful. They took the time to explain… Read more
everything clearly and kept us updated throughout the repairs. When we got our vehicles back, we were absolutely blown away by the quality of the work. The finish was immaculate—our cars looked as good as new!
The attention to detail and high standard of workmanship at Fortress Collision Repair is truly impressive. We couldn’t be happier with the results and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of top-notch collision repair. Thank you to the entire team for your outstanding service!
Do not let anyone from here touch your car, I was run into and had side damage all the way up one side of my car , I was told it was done and ready , when I went to pick it up I was sick. Overspray all over the window rubbers , all the bolts to the doors were stripped and not painted , seals were falling off , plastic clip in panels were all… Read more
broken , bumps through all the paint, attempted to repair a wheel and the clearcoat was peeling off , they did a wheel alignment to the wrong car specs, they got overspray all over the internals of my car , they had piles of stripped parts sitting all through the car during repair which was in photos and scratched the door trim plastics, when all this was raised they said no worries we will fix it , they fixed one item , I had to take it elsewhere to be fixed properly and was another 5k worth of repairs. Horrible to deal with , terrible workmanship.

Deplorable service and so called repairs at (previously Swaines) Ormeau. I was without my car for 8 weeks after being rear ended. Sometimes the updates I received were for someone else's car. I was told outright that there was very minimal damage to my car and the list of parts they ordered was also very minimal. When my car was finally 'ready'… Read more
it was the day before a long weekend. I got home and realised there was something very wrong and that my car was unroadworthy. I immediately contacted the company who said a manager would call me straight back. They did not and I was without a car for the next 3 days as I had returned my hire car. Long story short, they actually downplayed the damages to my car. The 'new' second hand bumper (poorly painted and with old broken trims superglued on), was unable to be attached to my car due to the structural damage to framework that went unreported in order for them to save money. See videos. They also stuffed broken pieces of the foam energy absorber (which had been severely damaged in the accident) back in between the bumper bar and crush bar. Had I not checked the bumper when I got home, (unable to check on pick up due to the car being backed right up against a wall in a corner), I could have been just driving around thinking I was perfectly safe - until rear ended again, in which case I would be severely injured or worse!! Fortress are yet to address the issues I had, seemingly hiding in the hopes I will just go away.
Avoid Fortress Collision Repair Services in Wishart Brisbane – Do not send your car here. My car needed the most minor of repairs to one side of the bumper, no new parts needed, standard sedan, standard white colour (no pearly essence special kind of white paint) and apparently 3 days is not sufficient for them to get this fixed. I was explicit that this was the maximum amount of time they could have my car… Read more
as we are a one car family with plans made after this period with infants that need the car seats (so can't just use an uber instead) and they took my business on knowing this and presumably committing to this. This was not an 'estimate'. Note day 1 the car was with them I got a text message saying it's all on track for pickup on the alloted day. The day of pickup (or what was meant to be pickup) I was told that it would not be ready and essentially too bad so sad. If new parts needed to be ordered or something complicated I could understand delays being a possibility but this is just presumably down to their own mismanagement. The receptionist is happy to get back to me tomorrow (a day late) with an update which is rather unhelpful. I find it unfathomable that they couldn't even tell me what time it would be ready by the next day. Is there no plan to when or in what order they do cars? Just totally hopeless. Will never use again. Do not trust any timeframes they give you as they could not run a bath let alone their business. I have also let Youi know who referred me to these guys as a preferred repairer that they do not meet their commitments to customers.
The worst crash repair – I recently had my car repaired at Fortress collision after a crash, and I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the work. When I received my car back, I immediately noticed several issues that should have been addressed. The panel gaps were noticeable and uneven, making the bodywork look poorly done. Additionally, one of the headlights was… Read more
not working at all, which is a major safety concern.
The overall repair quality was very subpar, and it seems like corners were cut during the process. I expected a much higher standard of work, especially after entrusting them with my car. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this repair shop to others. The lack of attention to detail and the safety issue with the headlight have left me very dissatisfied.
