Verdict
Fox Mowing & Gardening generally receives positive feedback for its local franchisees, with customers highlighting reliable scheduling, high standards of lawn and garden care, and friendly customer service. While the majority of reviews reflect high satisfaction with individual operators, a small subset of feedback points to occasional communication hurdles and service inconsistencies. Overall, the service is well-regarded by clients seeking dependable ongoing lawn maintenance and garden upkeep.
Highly recommend Joe. He has been providing a lawn maintenance service to my property since 1-2years ago and the service has always been good with great price! Shame that I’ve moved out of Ipswich but will definitely recommend him!
I had Francois trim my hedge. He was very professional and did a great job at a very reasonable price. I would recommend Francois and have hired him to do all my lawn maintenance. John
Fox Mowing ([Name Removed]) was hired to place 3 garden beds on my property in Queensland. I had explicitly told the owner of this franchise that his work must comply with council regulations. Unfortunately, his work does not comply with council regulations. I have been issued a notice from the Moreton Bay City Council to rectify his mistakes by… Read more
October 16.
I have included a picture showing one of the two garden beds that are in violation of council regulations as they encroach on the council verge. Unlike the false claims made by the owner of Fox Mowing ([Name Removed]), I had provided guidance from the licensed surveyors on where to put the garden beds.
It should also be obvious from the provided picture that the garden bed is past the stake placed by the licensed surveyor to indicate my property boundary. He also place a garden bed right next a utilities pit containing water meters.
When informed of his mistakes and the consequences of his mistakes, he proceeded to blame me for not teaching him about the council regulations. He claimed that I did not give him any instructions on where to place the garden beds. This is a very strange claim since I had given him a picture provided by the licensed surveyors on where the plants had to be located.
I will let the readers decide if this man is worthy of their trust to do more than just basic gardening work. As far as I am concerned, I am not going to pay him more money to rectify his mistakes. I would rather hire another professional, even if it costs more money, to do the job. It is also my expectation that a professional tradesmen should know their trade and regulations around their trade.
I have given him several opportunities to apologise and take ownership of his mistakes. His inability to take any ownership or responsibility for his mistakes is why I am giving him a 1 star review. I would give him a zero star review, if it were allowed.
I should also note that Fox Mowing was slow to respond to my formal complaint. They took 4 business days. I am not happy with their response. I would give their business a zero star rating, if I could.

Decided to ask the bloke down the road (Tingira heights) who is the local Fox franchisee to give me a quote, he quoted $80 and I gave him the go ahead. First job was outstanding but every job after got worse and worse ! The last time it looked like a quick whipper snip and mowing around the edges of the lawn only and no clippings in the bin… Read more
whatsoever, I queried him and he was very sarcastic and adamant he’d mowed.
I ended up mowing it myself and it was absolutely 100% better, I checked my security cameras and my suspicions were correct.
$80 cash in hand can now stay in my pocket, I don’t recommend this particular bloke at all.
Very substandard service and work (or lack of it !)

Choose a company that has regard for your neighbors. Fox contractor parked in front of bins that were not emptied and made it impossible for the waste truck to pick up the bins. Could have parked in a more suitable position or at least move the bins.

Love having Luke do our lawn and gardens, highly recommend him, turns up on time every single time and communicates regarding any changes around weather. Have used many other franchises and independents over the years, Luke and Fox Mowing are the best!
David is truly exceptional. He is knowledgeable, reliable, hard working and always goes above and beyond to make our garden look beautiful. He uses up to date equipment. We are grateful for his dedication and reliability and have no hesitation in recommending him highly. Ernie & Linda Robina Gold Coast

Another backyard brought back to life! From overgrown grass and weeds to a clean, tidy, and healthy lawn. Finished with a full mow, edging, and cleanup to leave the yard looking its best. Nothing beats seeing the transformation!

Unreliable – We recently requested a quote from Fox Mowing & Gardening which was to be ongoing work. The franchisee arrived the following day, I detailed our requirements & requested a written quote. The quote received was not as we had discussed. When he… Read more
was advised of this, he offered to reissue the quote as originally requested (which we had expected}.
Two months have since passed & amended quote yet to be received.
We would not use them as they are unreliable & lacking business acumen. A friend had a similar experience.
Follow-up · The quote was not as requested, he offered to reissue as originally stated he never bothered.

I have been using Fox Mt Cotton (Luke) for a number of years now each fortnight. He is prompt, thorough and pricing is pretty good. In winter when mowing isnt required as often, I have him prune and garden. Certainly recommend Fox for my yard work.
Rohit has always done a great job with my lawn and gardens. He goes above and beyond and you can tell her takes great pride in his work. This is why I won't be getting anyone else to help me with my lawns and gardens!
Negative reviews
Lady in office was incredibly rude and condescending, I wanted a free quote like it states on their website and was refused because they “needed” to know how much our gift voucher was for before the quote. Sounded like they needed to make sure the quote matched the voucher to make sure it was all used.
Brandon Lee for Fox mowing. Multiple no shows and last minute cancellations. Not mowing large areas of the lawn but still charging the same price. Not replying to emails. Charging for 3 and a half hours, but only doing 1 hours work
I am extremely disappointed with the service—or rather, the complete lack of service—from Fox Mowing. I accepted a quote for hedge trimming three weeks ago, and the contractor was scheduled to arrive two weeks ago. However, he has never shown up. I have made numerous attempts to contact him via phone and messages, but have received no response. I… Read more
have also called Fox Mowing three times. During my last call, I was assured by a representative that the issue would be escalated to her manager. Despite this, I have still not received any follow-up or return call.
