Qantas Frequent Flyer Questions & Answers
Why aren't points from One World airlines being automatically credited to Qantas frequent flyer members. I have had a number of flights on British Airways but no points received, my Qantas frequent flyer number has been entered on every reservation, but months later and numerous e-mails to Qantas and nothing has happened.
They are credited to the carrier airline and can’t be transferred. Qatar is part of one world yet you can’t book with Qantas points.
Can i book family members on flights and get points
HOW can I join Virgin Frequent Flyers points please??
I'm considering getting a Qantas frequent flyer card - All the reviews seem terrible but the main issue seems to be expiry of points. I've read the following on the Qantas website:
Your Qantas Points will not expire as long as you earn or use Qantas Points (excluding family transfers or the conversion of points from Aquire) through your Frequent Flyer account at least once every 18 months. This includes earning or using Qantas Points with our program partners. The time period starts from the date of your last activity (in the case of earning points on eligible flights, that is the date the flight was taken).
This seems okay to me as I would definitely use points/earn points every year.. Is the expiry the only issue people seem to have?
Hi Emme, the problem is you don’t earn points on partner flights well not Jetstar that’s for sure. So unless you know you will fly with Qantas you could fly regularly and not earn points. I earn pts regularly and just struggle to spend them. Getting a points seat on Qantas is like pulling teeth. Jetstar is easy though, go figure. And I have had issues with the store as well. The programme itself is complicated and outdated. Give the points a dollar value and let ppl spend them would solve a lot of problems. Hope that helps.
Hi Emme. Lost points is only part of the problem with this scheme. Getting any ff seats is extremely difficult, the taxes attached to ff seats are huge and often make it as cheap to fly with another airline, and you will often earn no points at all on your flights if they are discounted fares - but you will always get the annual charges.
Shop around: much fairer schemes are out there.
My points haven't expired. I have had a problem getting valid points credited to my account. Don't join this program. Explore what other airlines are offering.
I am having a problem getting access to my Woolworth gift card. Yes I forgot to turn off auto rewards so I could just accrue points but they say I can't turn it off until I get my Gift Card which I was supposed to get around 1st August. I have rang QANTAS 3 times which cost over 50 cents each time. The gift card is worth $20 that's why I'm chasing it. QANTAS took 3000 points but all they do is say log in to your profile & you can view your card & download to your phone. I told them I did look & I don't see that on your site. WHY? Can't you send me an egiftcard via email. They can see I haven't cashed in a Gift Card. I got from them it will happen in 5-7 days then 24-48 hours then my supervisor will ring you today. I got nothing. So I stopped my every day rewards points being converted but to late apparently for my next $20 which goes over on the 15/9/18 but can't get the gift card till the 1st November when they send more out. But will I get one? If this does not sort out by the end of the year I am leaving the program. I spent & worked hard to get points & was going to use them for a flight to a wedding next year in QLD. I don't think I will bother. Very unloyal program.
Can’t even get a gift card that I have requested via my FFP, let alone to recover my lost points. I resist even flying with QANTAS anymore
Hi Emma, I agree with your view on program does work. I have been program for 20 years and never lost points especially credit cards points transfer every month & Woolworth rewards convert to QF points every 3 months. Has been travel with JAL, Cathay, BA, Iberia, Emirates and Jetstar - all points has credit. (but you need to be aware there is no pints for special discounted tickets). Also accessed Lounge for JAL, Cathay, BA, Iberia and Emirates without issue. Countless free flights using points at least 2 business flights each year plus shout business international return for mother. I believe key is you learn program insideout to maxmize opportunity. PS: Nobody is parfect, expect Qantas will make mistake - just petient and deal without emotion. (They has damaged my new suite case and initially offer $150 instead purchase pricice of $550, I contact via e-mail and they reply next day with form to fill, and transfer $550 to may bank account in 3 days)
Run for the hills. I dont know where to start with the amount of issues i have had. Terrible Terrible Terrible. Almost a scam. Just scroll through the reviews
You can no longer get to use your points easily for overseas travel. Their call center doesn't answer the phone..Go elsewhere
I am a Gold status FF. I average 4 flights a year to USA cities through Lax with Departures usually
thru Term 4. My status allows access to Qantas Club Lounge which is in Tom Bradley Term. Term
4 departures requires QC Lounge members to use AA Lounge in Term 4. This lounge is exceedingly
inferior to QC Lounge & I feel does not meet the advertised benefits of Qantas Club membership
(The many QC members I speak to when in the AA club are all equally disgusted with the AA Club offerings) I am searching for method to access QC Lounge in [name removed] when my departure is
scheduled from Term 4.
Sorry, can't offer any assistance with this question
