Don't waste your money ! – I am writing in relation to the customer service we have received from Gaggenau since purchasing four of their products including a cooktop. Since we received the products, we have experienced incredible frustration and poor customer service throughout. Given the reputation of the brand, notwithstanding the extensive price point, to represent… Read more

such bad design and service is both surprising and disappointing. Since day one, we have had so many issues with the cooktop including the elements not igniting properly, discolouration, elements falling apart and etc and despite numerous call outs Gaggenau have failed to fix them. The process of getting it assessed, having the assessor send a report to gaggenau and having to chase them up has taken an insurmountable amount of time, still without any solution. Dealing with the Gaggenau service has been absolutely discouraging. Our cooktop is far from the exceptional quality one would expect from their products. I do not comprehend how a multi-thousand dollar stovetop has been nothing but a labyrinth of defaults. What is most frustrating of all is that we have presented a clear opportunity for the company to provide above-and-beyond customer service, however their decision to let our concerns fall to the wayside have led to an extremely unsatisfied customer and a loss in business ( I have now warned a myriad of friends and associates against their products). Customers trust companies that are dedicated to fulfilling their needs at a minimum and in turn return with customer loyalty. In the age of social media and the internet, customers like myself are aware that businesses are privy to complaints and ignoring them is always worse than acknowledging them. A lack of response signals to us that the company does not care about the poor service we have received and also doesn't value the contribution to their business.

Due to their inaction I have now taken this matter to the Department of Fair Trading and Administrative Tribunal.

design flaw – Very nice design, very good heat control. I have used it over two years now , but sometimes when I am frying meat or fish I have a problem because the handle of the fryingpan touches some gas-tuniing nobs and I and up burning food instead of cooking. in my opnion the high profile knobs should be exchanged by low profile knobs.  Show details

A great cook top that we are happy to recommend – Part of our Gaggenau kitchen. I wanted the induction cooktop, but the other half wanted gas. I'm glad we went the gas. The main advantage I see to gas is the immediate control of the flame. You flick the knob and it's done . I've heard people comment on the induction that you have to play with keypads etc or pick up the saucepan off the stove… Read more ·  2

if instant response is required . Unlike gas.

This cook top has same fantastic features. The main one is the really good flame control on every burner. The flame can be turned down extremely low..so happy about feature.

The safety features of auto re-ignition if the flame goes out, and then shuts itself down if it fails to light after a few attempts.

Love the styling also.

We did have a problem with a burner not lighting at one stage , but it was quickly resolved to be us not putting the burner back together again properly after cleaning. Now that we are aware of this, it hasn't been an issue since.

The only negative is that the brass burners change colour quickly (oxidise) to grey colours where water or food have splashed on them. We haven't tried to polish them yet (after 6 months use) , but I imagine if they were soaked in an appropriate agent they would return to their original colour.....maybe soak them in Coke like we use to with the 1 & 2 cents coins to make them shiny :)

The unit is expensive..but if you want something different and top end...then I'm happy to recommend this cooktop..
