Extremely Happy ! Plants arrived quickly, perfectly packaged all very healthy. No damage to carton. Very Happy with service. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Tube stock not healthy – I have previously ordered tube stock from other companies and this was the first time using Garden Variety because they had stock of a couple of plants I was after. I ordered two lots on consecutive days and I wrote to the company asking that both orders come together and save me the additional $25 postage. I didn’t receive a response to my request and the orders arrived on the same day and I was charged two lots of postage anyway. I purchase around 40 tube stock and noticed that approximately one third of the plants were very weak and unhealthy upon arrival. I straight away applied nurturing to all plants and within 4-5days I had lost 10 of the plants (they just went brown and died). I am still nurturing the remaining plants and it will take some time before they are strong enough to go into the ground. I wrote to the company advising of this and have not received a response of any kind. I don’t recommend using these guys and can see from other reviews that this is a common occurrence. There are other great online plant stores that do a much better job and provide much healthier plants.
Garden Variety should be ashamed of what they sell – I purchased 7 tube Waterhousia trees. When they arrived I noticed how weak and straggly they were, and the main tip of each one had been cut off. This "tipping" will have a great effect on the eventual shape of the tree (if they survive at all) whereas I am after height before width. By the condition of the rest of each plant, I suspect they had somehow been neglected and had died off on the tips, therefore trimmed to remove the dead parts. In the photo, you will see that I have repotted and staked them in the hope of nurturing them until they are stronger; but if you look closely enough you can see the cut tips. Prior to this I had purchased over a hundred tube stock trees from Daley's Fruit Tree Company (who were out of stock by the time I wanted these final few). They arrived in perfect condition. Furthermore, they were half the price of those from Garden Variety. I made my feelings known to Garden Variety but have never received a reply. My recommendation: If you need trees, buy them from Daley's Fruit Tree Company; avoid Garden Variety.
This is perfect and excellent conditions – This is the first time I do online order the plants. 20 of (Trachelospermum Star Jasmine) it was well packed and excellent condition. I will deal with this nursery again. thank you.
