Unreliable – I've owned two of these watches, with the first replaced under warrantee. The watch worked well for the first year and then became unreliable. It often mis-reports speed (often overstating running speed), has a very unreliable heart rate monitor, and often does not record steps. Do not buy Garmin.

Purchased at harvey norman for $499.

Really good – I brought a Forerunner 225 after lots of research on the features I liked. As suggested by others, I do not take it in the shower. It works well, has seen a lot of rain and sweat and it still works. The charger after many uses is a little pedantic about being connected just right. It apparently doesn't do well in water despite the guarantee (although they got a replacement)

The battery does very good between charges.

It can check your heart rate quite accurately

It monitors your sleep and shows up on your connected device.

It counts steps all while not on GPS.

Whith GPS it can tell you elevation level and

Where you have been (if you ask it to) (on attached device) and show on a map (attached/Bluetoothed device).

Love it – Upgraded to this from the garmin 10. What a difference. Picks up gps instantly (had to wait up to 10 mins with the previous one). Has all the features I needed and you can tailor the screen to your preferences (speed, kms, heart rate etc). Love the built in heart rate monitor. It does have quite a huge watch face, females with tiny wrists may find it too large.

Highly functional activity watch – This watch features a heart rate monitor, step counter, calories, distance, GPS, sleep monitoring and more. It is easy to use and has plenty of features to measure your activities. During daily routine I found the step counter useful and it calculates a daily goal for you each day. When running it shows your heart rate zone, speed, distance, time and more. I found this device encouraging to exercise by giving feedback during exercise and rewards after such as a PB for time or distance.

Surprisingly I like the step counter because the daily goal changes and you wouldn't go to bed 200 steps short! I don't know how the sleep counter works but it seems acurate with light and deep sleep cycles as well detecting when I wake up to attend to the kids during the night. I also used it in a hockey game to track my movements, distance and speed which was interesting on the app. I have also used it to walk the kids to school and working on the wards to track my distance. It is reasonably acurate on the treadmill if the GPS is turned off.

The app is easy to read and gives a good comprehensive statistical analysis of your events. You can even preset training programs onto a calender into your watch or use preset programs for particular events eg 12 klm run at easy medium or hard training and it will plan out a training schedule for you on its calendar.

Overall I love this watch and have barely taken it off since I bought it. It did take a while to figure out how to sync it to my phone and laptop but after that it's great. The app does so much and easy to navigate. It can be a little overwhelming and I am still finding new things.
