Terrible, stay away!! – We purchased this watch for my 6 years old son who was dreaming of having a fitness watch. With all the excitement of the world we set it up and off he goes, 2 months later band broke completely so he can’t wear it anymore. The cost for original band half of the price for a brand new watch. Obviously when we took it back, this was not covered by… Read more
warranty. My older son had the Fitbit Ace2 for over a year and works beautifully. Such a waste of money.

Great incentive for young kids – These are great watches which will see children challenge each other with steps etc. The coins for tasks etc and setting personalised goals was great at first, but we all got over this fairly quickly as I found constantly having to update the app was a bit time consuming and it wasn't being kept up to date - I don't need to have my face in my… Read more
phone any longer than what I already do for other things.
The bands do wear, as does the watch face so purchase with the expectation that they won't look like new for too long. It's kids being kids, although mine are generally very careful with things. There are many aftermarket bands available on eBay etc so your kids can have fun changing the styles too, so a broken band is not necessarily a bad thing! I have seen screen protectors available online from overseas, so this could always be an option for the face, however for us it's a bit late unfortunately.
They do make great gifts and I would still recommend these to anyone who is considering purchasing one. Garmin do make fantastic products.
Poor quality, breaks all the time – I have purchased 2 Garmin vivofit jr and had nothing but trouble with them. After purchasing the second one I bought a warranty with it and have had to have it replaced 4 times! Twice the screen got a black dot in the middle of the display and you couldn't read the numbers correctly and twice my daughter has woken up one morning to find that the… Read more
animal character you get to pick on the front screen has reverted back to a dinosaur and only half of the functions are available when you try to scroll through the menu. On top of that the bands don't last that long, if the kids need to take off everyday or they don't like sleeping in them.
I can't express how disappointed we have been and the amount of time wasted having to return the watch and wait for at least 30mins if not more while the shop goes through the warranty process. Not to mentioned that everytime you have to replace the watch you loose all the stored information so the kids have to start their chores, the game on the phone to progress levels and their step history all over again.
I have another faulty watch at home and don't know if I have be bothered going through the process again - of course I will as I can only imagine the pain it will cause when one child has a watch and the other doesn't.
Garmin the features on the watch are great and the kids love them. Please think about the quality as I am sure I am not the only one that has experienced these issues.
Great motivator for kids to be active! – If you are looking for a perfect watch for kids 4 and upwards, to motivate to be active, to earn rewards, to be eager to do jobs/chores to earn coins, to link in with you (the parent/guardian) several times a day, to track their sleep, to set an alarm, well, the Vivofit Jr is the best little all-round activity tracker watch I have seen! I was… Read more
so impressed with the quality and features and interactive app for the kids to progress in an adventure with every 60 minutes activity the complete, that I bought a second one for myself - so we could match each other on the leaderboard, and I could have lots of fun ticking off my customisable jobs/chores and earn my own coins to put towards rewards that you can also set yourself.
I also wear my Garmin Forerunner 235 on the other wrist, as I like the kids app I can use with my child and be better organised to do my jobs, while loving the Forerunner 235 for all the other features that I use to get active again and use on walks and runs.
Note that the Vivofit Jr BAND is compatible with the Vivofit 3 bands in case you need a bigger one. I guess you can buy them from Garmin online, but I just went back to the sports store. I bought a set of these as my wrist didn't fit the band that came with the box for the Vivofit Jr. I know it says for kids aged 5-7 years, but my son is older than that, and it really is a great motivator for kids of all ages! Also, the kids can wear the Vivofit JR in the pool and bath.
Only regret I have is that I didn't find out about Garmin Vivofit Jr five years ago!!! Absolutely recommend this product.

Great design Captain America..perfect for little boys – Bought it from target as loved the design for my boy. Looks great on and connects to app. All his friends has this one and hes so happy. Overall a good investment and great product. Show details
My son absolutely loved it – Bought as a present for my 8 year old. The Captain American band. He really loves wearing it in school and play. Very durable as he keeps on bending it but still good . Value for money I would say Show details
Garmin jr – My son loves his new smart watch. I am able to set him jobs and tasks through the app and his watch alarms to remind him. It gives him a bit of extra responsibility. Super easy to use with the app. Show details

Good product but terrible communication from Garmin – The product itself is fine - however I won't ever buy anything from Garmin again. Be aware that when you register your product, they will pester you with emails and there is no opt-out option. You cannot reply to their emails, there is no 'unsubscribe' link (is that legal???) and the link to the 'contact us' is broken. I have tried messaging them… Read more
on facebook and my message was ignored. Won't ever be buying Garmin products again. If you do register your product with garmin, be sure to give a false email address.
Last for max 18 months – Great concept, good design but be aware when you need to replace the battery- it wont work again! and they cant be fixed! In this day and age products should be durable Show details
Poor quality & buggy – I bought this for my 9YO daughter in September 2018. It has been consistently difficult to sync with my iPhone. Recently she told me that it stopped tracking her steps. Now the strap has broken. We chose it over the equivalent fit bit. My daughter regrets this choice. Show details

Great for kids, not so great bands – My son received this for his 11th birthday July last year, he absolutely loved it. The biggest down fall is the bands, we went through three within the first 7 months and then the third one started to crack where the watch is inserted, he went swimming in some waves and cane out heart broken. The insert was gone. The bands broke In different… Read more
places each time so not just wear and tear. Would love to get him another one for his birthday but can’t really afford a new band ever few month.
Love this product - Love this company as well – Fantastic product, I am petite person therefore wear the small child age 4-7 stretch band. I also wear the stretch band because I have lost previous fitness bands due to the clasp undoing. We have three different versions of the Garmin Fitbit in our house and I must say all three have been no trouble and are a great product to own. Love the fact I don't need to charge it, all our batteries have lasted past two years Show details
Average! Good for kids – Great watch for kids. Good watch to get kids to help out around the house with choirs and earn pocket money or any types of rewards. Does not have gps. Yet, waterproof! Show details

They could do better – I love the concept of the watch and my daughter loves it... but Garmin need to work out the faults/bugs when you are trying to sync it with parents phone. 9 time out of 10 it doesn’t work! Show details
My son loves it – I bought one of these for my sons birthday in December and he is forever wearing it. He loves tracking his steps and tells me throughout the day how many he does. Definitely promotes him to be more active. The actual watch itself is such great quality and looks great too. Show details
Poor quality - battery replacement warning! – My son loved his. Surface got quite scratched and never really used the chore options. After 1 year the battery died and I followed the steps from Garmin to replace the battery. However the new battery died again after a week so I opened it up and noticed that water had gone in there!!! So disappointing. Now the watch is broken. Should come with a warning about battery replacement or at least improve it to be rechargable. Show details
Great kids watch – My 7yo absolutely loves this watch! I bought this watch for his xmas present and he wears it everyday and never takes it off. Pros - We always compare how many steps we've done at the end of each day(he always wins) - Rewards for getting chores done. He now makes his bed in the moring, remembers to unpack his bag at the end of the school day… Read more
etc. This has worked better than expected.
- Preset multiple alarms for him (eg. wake up time, when to come home from friends house)
- Getting him set a timer for how long he can be on the ipad for.
I highly recommend this to other parents
Good kids tracker – Ha e three boys and three of these trackers. Bought 2 October 2018 and had to replace 1 in January this year as it stopped working. The other 2018 watch still works but the band has faded to close to white. Very disappointing. Sleep tracker is excellent to track your child’s quality of sleep. Can be a motivator for chores, as well as a way to see… Read more
how active they are at school etc. they need to be more durable, however they have a 12 month replacement warranty so returns with Rebel was no issue.
Why Did We Not Buy Sooner?! – We purchased two of these for our sons aged 7 & 11, after being recommended them from a friend. The main reason we decided on this purchase was because we were hoping the daily tasks would help the kids remember their responsibilities without having to nag them ourselves all the time. I am happy to report it is working exactly as I had hoped. … Read more
The boys are remembering to complete their chores and do them right away - as soon as they make the noise to alert them. The associated app is easy to use. The boys both love being able to see how many steps they have done (although I do wonder how accurate it is) and it keeps them wanting to move to build on the number. As they have never had watches before, they also love being able to know what the time is at a glance. We could not be happier with our decision to buy them each one and would highly recommend to other parents.
Great for kids of all ages – My 7 and 9 year old love these! Easy to sync with my iphone and track. They loved having a watch but also the chores were a great incentive too. Found replaceable watch bands online via ebay easily too as my kids wrists will eventually get too big for them. It's a great unisex gift too. Show details
Not a solid product – I bought 2 of these bands for my kids and they don't sync properly to my samsung S8 phone. For the price you pay its not a very good product. You can't even change the battery after one year. I really hope they come up with a better version of it. Show details
Love this gadget – This watch is the perfect little addition to my life. It has lots of different functions installed onto it, making it very useful and very worth it. The chore and reward features are some of the features that set this garmin apart from other watches. Was looking into this watch over the fitbit and I'm glad I got this one instead. Show details

Great gift – Works well for my son!I bought this for my son for his 8th birthday. At first I thought it may be a little juvenile for him but he loves it. The chore and reward feature is awesome. He loves earning his coins. I would definitely recommend. We bought vivofit 3 bands online in multiple colors. He couldn't be happier. Show details
Great kid’s product – Great kid’s product to wear as a watch and for counting steps. Durable and looks good. Our daughter is 9 and loves hers. Her band has lasted nearly a year and whilst still fine, could do with replacing. Will be purchasing another for our son this Christmas, he is six. Show details
Stops working – Purchased this for my 7yr old back in feb. After a month it stopped working. So changed the battery. One month later the same thing so changed battery again. Now 3 months later the same thing once again so not overly happy. Plus the button keeps getting atuck if the kids play in sand. Its supposed to be made for kids so not overly impressed at all. Son loves it – Got my son one of these for his birthday. He loves it and says it's really comfortable to wear. He even sleeps with it some nights. It's counts all his steps he took for the day. He also likes to set alarms to remind himself to brush his teeth or when to meet with his friends. Show details
Excellent product – My two boys got their Garmin Vívofit Junior for Christmas......they have yet to take them off! It’s helped so much with their time telling. I love checking in on how many steps they’ve done each day and it’s handy for getting them to brush their teeth for the appropriate amount of time with the timer function. Highly recommend! Not the best – The watch does what it needs to do, but nothing amazing. The one major downside is that the band constantly gives my kids a rash from wearing it. Battery life is actually very good which I was very surprised of. The customer service when one of the bands broke were outstanding. Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the rash the bands give my kid. Show details
4 year old loves it and 2 year old n wants one! – I got this for my 4 year old because I can actually see how much she's actually sleeping at night and what she is actually doing exercise wise during the day to help with her sleep. Both my kids refuse to sleep at night and are abit over active during the day. The more I track everything the more I can tell what she is doing during the day and… Read more
what I need to do to change her sleeping pattern and what not. I haven't had any problems with it since I got it for her. Ill be looking at getting my 2 year old one for her 3rd bday as well.
Pathetic , DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT – pathetic organisation ,pathetic product , the bands continually tear and the new product I received burnt my 7 year olds arm as it got too hot. I contacted the company and am still awaiting a call back. That’s how much they care about the customers ( little kids ) Shame on you Garmin keep taking money and don’t worry about the aftermath Show details
excellent product – purchased for my 2 daughters bdays... we got the minni mouse ones. one had a broken band but garmin sent a new one out the very next day after contact. Great customer service. great products very happy. you can set goals and chores to encourage the children and they can set challanges against each other Show details
Easy to use - great kids watch – Easy to use and link in with app. Keeps kids motivated & improves independance. I use chore function to reinforce behaviors expected/things kids need to do. the stars rewarded to continue in game also encourages reading for my reluctant reader. Only downside is only 2 alarms can be set & vand variety for girls is limited. Stretchy band also too… Read more
small for 6yr olds.
Being able to give watch a name helps reduce sibling conflict as ownership easily identified.
Great to keep kids active and aware – I got this for my son for Christmas and have to say, I am really impressed with its features. First of all the sizing is great, it has a stretchy band so no fiddly clips or bands to worry about when wearing. It is a great way for kids to keep track of the steps they do in a day and they can set goals and get a beep when they achieve them. My son… Read more
wears if all the time, I believe it is water resistant however he doesn't wear it near water just in case. Overall a great product for kids!
I love the concept but I am not sure about the product durability – I have bought two of them for my two kids. The eldest son I got one in February last year, he is already on his 3rd watch because two of them stopped working properly. My youngest son got his in September and I just went yesterday to swap it because stopped working too :( Show details
Not so great for kids – Bought this for my 7 yr old nephew and he loved it although the band is quite small but stretches. They should make it adjustable but it keeps him active as he always wants to track his steps. The downside is the steps count even when he shakes his wrist. Another con is that it only lasts 1 year and does not even tell you how to change the battery. For $129 I expect the battery to be changeable. Show details
