Garmin Vivomove Style
Verified1 review
Absolutely regret this purchase – I’ve been a Fitbit customer for years and decided to finally upgrade to a Garmin watch after reading so many reviews almost instantly I regret my decision. Whilst it is very stylish, considering the price point it’s nothing more then a fancy watch and it’s features haven’t impressed me! Firstly I am going to outline the products shortfalls and limitations 1) No ability to customise notifications! Basically you have to turn off the notification centre app by app if you don’t want to receive notifications for a certain app... which means they won’t show on the watch or the notification centre on your iPhone! I don’t know where there isn’t the ability to chose apps to receive notifications from, similar to Fitbit. 2) GarminPay requires a pin code everytime you use it, it’s quite annoying and considering my phone has facial unlock, the garminpay is useless 3) The watch doesn’t light up at night, so unless you activate the screen and have the time setup as one of the appearances, you won’t see the time in the dark (as in the hands don’t light up) 4) There is no pairing with heart rate monitor straps... seems like an obvious flaw when other models offer this and wrist based heart rate readings are often incorrect 5) Battery life is maximum 3 days! The website says 5 days, but I’ve never got it past 3 days... most of the time it’s about 2-2 1/2 days between charges
What I like about it: 1) sleek and stylish and unlike other fitness/smart watches you can wear it all the time without looking like a geek (e.g formal events) 2) Strength training mode: somehow the watch is able to track your sets, and to be honest it’s pretty accurate at detecting reps and also what workout you’re actually doing (kinda creepy)
To be honest, I wish I’d considered other Garmin watches! I really wanted integration with my heart rate strap which is probably most disappointing. Right now, considering how much I paid I probably should have just got an Apple Watch and it would have offered way more features for the same price!
