I have had a ly7 engine change over to a lfx engine, transmission and rear cradle. The job was done as discussed and the price was as discussed with expertise as you would expect. I recently had a Stage 3 Cam Package including Custom Dyno Tune and Stall Upgrade to my Holden Commodore VE Series 2, It had a blown up LLT motor and it was towed into GC Cars not running, now it doesn't miss a beat! I will be back for my general servicing and for any other Commodore spare parts that I need in the near future as they stock EVERYTHING.

Had my timing chain done here at their old workshop 4 years ago, I have been coming every 6 months for general matanance and my car never misses a beat, my car is now at 300,000km and when my motor blows up eventually I will come back for sure they are the best price in Australia
Helpful – Purchased carbon fibre dash and steering wheel trims G.C.CARS fitted them free,cleared a code for me,purchased HSV brakes fitted for me,they couldn't be more helpful, I've recommended plenty of people and I'll be back .
Nothing but issues with V8 conversion – Since the first day I got it home, engine pulley noises, oil pressure alarms and fuel in the oil. Car wouldn’t start due to fuel issue, running rich, engine light constantly on due to running rich in bank 2. Fuel composition sensor permanent fault dtc. codes. Also lost a few litres of coolant after a 400km drive, found the heater hoses clamps were still loose. Was told they would send injectors, spark plugs and oil pressure switch, only ever received eBay quality injectors and nothing else. Won’t answer questions regarding faults. When I did speak to them, all they had to say was it’s just common LS problems and basically left it at that. I started having issues after driving it for 370kms. So far it’s cost me a decent amount to just be able to drive it, but still have to deal with the engine light, low oil pressure alarm going off and the fact it struggles to start once I turn it off after a decent drive

Holden Commodore Engine Exchange Disaster – Rather than repairing my 2010 Commodore motor, I exchanged for a newer motor (2014-2015) which had all the design bugs taken out. work. I paid $400 to an aircon mechanic who concluded there was no power, no fuses and no relay to the aircon.
GC Cars had not installed the correct fuse box associated with the 2014-2015 motor. That's why there was no power, fuses or relay to the aircon. I didn't try to claim the $400 I paid my aircon mechanic. I was just happy it was fixed.
2 months later the aircon was not working again. The alloy aircon pipe had been forcibly bent to fit and the hoses were squeezed against the chassis and had cracked. Only a fool would install an engine with the pipe bent to fit and squeezed against the chassis. It would only be time before the aircon pipes and hoses crack and break. It did, at 6000km. GC Cars refused to help with replacement pipes and hoses, even though I offered to pay for the hoses and Auspost. Don't use GC Cars. They are not a member of MTA and don't honour their work or treat their customers fairly.
