Booked, delivered and installed without issue.
I booked my new battery installation with NRMA as my old one ( Century brand) was 6 years old and with winter coming I didn't want it to fail suddenly and let me down. The fellow arrived at the allotted time and, after checking my old battery and deciding it was on the way out, within 30 minutes the job was done. Not sure what the brand of the battery is, not a Century I imagine which my dad always said was the best, but if it fails it has a 3 year replacement warranty so you can't expect better than that I guess.
NRMA - DEFINITELY not what it used to be. Garbage-grade service.
1. Had my battery replaced 18th Feb, 2022.
2. NRMA serviceman INSISTED on taking my old battery away ( I can use it for my low-power electronics projects). Claimed it was "POLICY."
3. Asked him to ask his boss about this "policy".
4. He made a loud phone call to his boss and then said to me "can't change this policy."
5. Again he INSISTED that he must remove my battery.
6. I told him it is my battery, I want to use it for other things.
7. He INSISTED. Then he said to me, he'll bring me another battery "same or better" and "drop it off at my hom...
There batterys are over price
Problem with this battery on 3 times a cost of $281.00 replaced with the same brand of battery costing $160.00
Rude patrolman and overpriced battery
The patrolman was rude and aggressive. Plus he charged 330 for car battery. The quality of Nrma services dropped so much compared to a year ago and the recent reviews show that too.
Overpriced and poor quality
Replaced the two original batteries in out LC200 Diesel after 4 years of reliable operation on the factory batteries. My mistake was to be lazy and call NRMA for batteries. They worked fine for a few months, but within the year they started draining to flat after a few weeks of the car sitting idle due to the lockdowns. Eventually started draining within a couple of weeks even while using the car, and despite recharging fully using a charger they would never last long. After about 18 months the first battery wouldn’t ever fully charge, and went...from full to empty when leaving the car overnight. There apparently is a three year warranty on the products, but reading the conditions, the battery won’t be covered due to fully draining. I really don’t have the energy to argue with the warranty folks either :) Bought and installed two ultra high performance Aussie made Century batteries for around the same as I paid for installed NRMA batteries and the car is like new. Let’s see how long these new ones last. I’ll add a review when they’ve been running for a while. Sorry NRMA, product quality poor but your service is still very good. Lost three stars for crap quality batteries. OEM batteries lasted four years, would expect technology to get better not worse.
Battery drains sooner ,better buy some other good Brand
Battery drains sooner , previously their battery used to be good. They will use the clause “Severly discharged batteries are not covered under replacement warranty “ though their battery drains sooner than normal. So better buy some good Australlian brand than NRMA batteries.
Time to shop around
As an NRMA member of over 30 years it pains me to say that the days of NRMA offering reasonably priced batteries appear to be over given their move to outsource battery supply to sub-contractors. It's time to shop around if you're not desperate for an instant replacement. I today had to replace a battery in the Golf for $350. Upon further investigation I found I could have bought at cost 40% cheaper. Only four months ago I replaced the 4WD battery with NRMA for $260, a much bigger battery. NRMA needs to lift its game here and think about service not just profit. Btw, I the star rating is for the price I paid not the service by the subbie which was terrific.
I called the NRMA today to replace my car battery...They were at my front door 20 minutes later...I'd never let my membership slip...The battery was replaced with a 3 year warranty and under $200 for fitting and replacement..I have used the NRMA for many things and would not feel safe without them..Member for more than 40 years and every single person who works for them goes over and beyond..They are always friendly and kind..AAA+ service.
Did not show up
Booked delivery and installation of new battery for between 6 and 8 pm. No-one showed up. Rang NRMA at 9 pm . They couldn't offer reason why the no show and asked if I still wanted to wait to get the battery that night. I said no as I wanted to go to bed. There was no contact from NRMA that the appointment was running late or infact the appointment could not be honoured. Bad service.
Cheap overseas batteries, not what they used to be 5ish years ago!
Very disappointed in the quality for NRMA batteries going down hill over the 4 years!
The original battery died in my 2012 Mazda3 after 5years and was replaced in 2017 by NRMA mobile battery service. This battery lasted 3 years before dying it actually went dead whilst at the mechanics his tester showed it didn’t have much life in it and said he could put it on the deep charge or just replace it he also said the wrong battery was installed and it should have been the 600CCA not the 450CCA rating which had been installed by the NRMA technician.
3rd battery in 4 years first one replaced under warranty now its failed in just over 2 years so the 3rd battery to put in, i will be buying another brand hopefully Australian made
Great customer service
Easy process of ordering online a new battery, easy process of booking someone to install new battery. Great sms communication to advise what time man would be there to install.
Excellent roadside service
At 9am I was on the side of the road in Sydney with a car that wouldn't start. NRMA was there within 10 minutes of my call. My 6 1/2 year old battery required replacement. The patrol an had a good quality/3 year warranty battery with him and it was replaced with 10 minutes. And good value for money.
Well done NRMA with service, product and courteous well mannerd patrol men who understand what customer service means.
Always trust NRMA battery service
Excellent battery replacement service - good value, easy to book and service provided on time with efficiency and a smile. A bonus was the real-time monitoring of the patrols whereabouts and expected arrival time.
Fabulous battery service
Flat battery Saturday morning, no local suppliers had my battery. Went to NRMA website, it helped me find the correct battery, I ordered it for later that day and it arrived right on time with the most helpful and knowledgeable patrolman. Absolutely fabulous service. Thank you, NRMA.

Just had battery replaced by nrma roadside assist at a cost of $359 My car is a2019 Mazda 3 . Does this price seem reasonable or excessive
Go to Supercheap auto and enter your rego plate. They will recommend a battery (Century is an excellent brand), and it will be cheaper and higher quality than the NRMA brand. My two Century batteries ...from Supercheap are champions, car starts so quickly and responsively vs. NRMA batteries that I wonder whether the NRMA batteries were defective from the start. NRMA batteries didn’t last two years. Short: looks expensive to me as I bought two ultra heavy duty batteries for my land cruiser for <$500, spent around 20 minutes installing them.
Hello Tiger, Thanks for your question. NRMA Batteries are of the same quality and specifications as the original equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Our batteries are regularly tested, but also come with a ...nationwide warranty as well a free delivery and installation - and importantly a 24/7 service should there be an issue. It's important when comparing batteries with other providers, to ensure the same specifications are matched with NRMA Batteries as there are cheaper options, however with less power or overall warranty. Keep in mind, that Mazda 3 batteries may also be an enhanced flooded battery (EFB), which is not a typical battery and is used in cars that feature Stop-Start technology. EFBs are wet-filled and similar to standard flooded batteries, however, there are differences that give these batteries enhanced cycling abilities and improved charge acceptance. This means the battery recovers more quickly, as its application needs to handle heavy-duty, cyclic, Start-Stop applications. I hope this helps in some way tiger, but if you have any further questions, please feel free to call us on 13 11 22. - Paul
Thanks for your prompt response the service provided by nrma roadside assist was excellent just thought the battery was a bit dear however you have explained the reason
