Booked, delivered and installed without issue.
I booked my new battery installation with NRMA as my old one ( Century brand) was 6 years old and with winter coming I didn't want it to fail suddenly and let me down. The fellow arrived at the allotted time and, after checking my old battery and deciding it was on the way out, within 30 minutes the job was done. Not sure what the brand of the battery is, not a Century I imagine which my dad always said was the best, but if it fails it has a 3 year replacement warranty so you can't expect better than that I guess.

NRMA - DEFINITELY not what it used to be. Garbage-grade service.
1. Had my battery replaced 18th Feb, 2022.
2. NRMA serviceman INSISTED on taking my old battery away ( I can use it for my low-power electronics projects). Claimed it was "POLICY."
3. Asked him to ask his boss about this "policy".
4. He made a loud phone call to his boss and then said to me "can't change this policy."
5. Again he INSISTED that he must remove my battery.
6. I told him it is my battery, I want to use it for other things.
7. He INSISTED. Then he said to me, he'll bring me another battery "same or better" and "drop it off at my hom...

Rude patrolman and overpriced battery
The patrolman was rude and aggressive. Plus he charged 330 for car battery. The quality of Nrma services dropped so much compared to a year ago and the recent reviews show that too.

Read moree all feedback seriously and will ensure that the interaction is passed onto the relevant manager. In terms of cost, the pricing does seem within the range of our battery prices, but also comes with a nationwide warranty and backed with 24/7 support. There can often be cheaper battery prices, but there's no support offered or the battery warranty or performance is reduced to provide a cheaper price. Being an NRMA Member, delivery and installation is also free, which does help when comparing to a retailer. Overpriced and poor quality
Replaced the two original batteries in out LC200 Diesel after 4 years of reliable operation on the factory batteries. My mistake was to be lazy and call NRMA for batteries. They worked fine for a few months, but within the year they started draining to flat after a few weeks of the car sitting idle due to the lockdowns. Eventually started draining within a couple of weeks even while using the car, and despite recharging fully using a charger they would never last long. After about 18 months the first battery wouldn’t ever fully charge, and went...
Read more from full to empty when leaving the car overnight. There apparently is a three year warranty on the products, but reading the conditions, the battery won’t be covered due to fully draining. I really don’t have the energy to argue with the warranty folks either :) Bought and installed two ultra high performance Aussie made Century batteries for around the same as I paid for installed NRMA batteries and the car is like new. Let’s see how long these new ones last. I’ll add a review when they’ve been running for a while. Sorry NRMA, product quality poor but your service is still very good. Lost three stars for crap quality batteries. OEM batteries lasted four years, would expect technology to get better not worse.Hello Richard. It's a shame to hear that you were unhappy with the quality of your NRMA batteries, which you've mentioned would not hold their charge. Batteries will tend to drain overtime with period...
Read mores of infrequent usage and often may fail if they are not properly recharged or used for regular driving - as we've experienced during lockdowns. It's difficult to confirm if your batteries would have been replaced under warranty as they have since been removed and unable to be tested by our team to offer a diagnosis, however this is required so we can test the batteries or also offer advice if you are experiencing battery draining or driving less frequently.- 5 reviews

Battery drains sooner ,better buy some other good Brand
Battery drains sooner , previously their battery used to be good. They will use the clause “Severly discharged batteries are not covered under replacement warranty “ though their battery drains sooner than normal. So better buy some good Australlian brand than NRMA batteries.
Hello Sur,
We are sorry to hear that you experienced an issue with your battery. A mechanical breakdown can often be unexpected, but also an inconvenience, which is where our service are there to help. ...
Read more We appreciate that you've also raised concerns around our batteries draining sooner than normal and can understand that you are disappointed that a warranty was not able to be offered as it was ruled out as a manufacturing fault. NRMA batteries are not designed to fail outside of warranty, they are the same quality batteries as the original equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and are regularly tested. Whilst our batteries are not specifically manufactured in Australia, we also support Australian business through an Australian battery supplier, who purchase batteries direct from the manufacturers overseas and service all of the automotive clubs across Australia. We maintain that profits stay and are reinvested back into Australia and also ensure each battery is tested are are either at the same level or above the manufacturers specifications. When it comes to a discharged battery, there are often cases where a vehicle has not been driven for a while, or does not get regularly used, which will not maintain charge in a battery. This is not isolated to our batteries, but can often be the most common cause of a battery to fail. NRMA advice and recommendations remain around using a vehicle regularly for a least 30minutes of driving, but also using an automatic battery charger to extend the lifespan if you are not using the vehicle as often. We appreciate that you've shared your personal experience and views here, and are sorry to hear that we will not be your choice of battery provider when needing assistance in future. As an NRMA member of over 30 years it pains me to say that the days of NRMA offering reasonably priced batteries appear to be over given their move to outsource battery supply to sub-contractors. It's time to shop around if you're not desperate for an instant replacement. I today had to replace a battery in the Golf for $350. Upon further investigation I found I could have bought at cost 40% cheaper. Only four months ago I replaced the 4WD battery with NRMA for $260, a much bigger battery. NRMA needs to lift its game here and think about service not just profit. Btw, I the star rating is for the price I paid not the service by the subbie which was terrific.

Did not show up
Booked delivery and installation of new battery for between 6 and 8 pm. No-one showed up. Rang NRMA at 9 pm . They couldn't offer reason why the no show and asked if I still wanted to wait to get the battery that night. I said no as I wanted to go to bed. There was no contact from NRMA that the appointment was running late or infact the appointment could not be honoured. Bad service.

Cheap overseas batteries, not what they used to be 5ish years ago!
Very disappointed in the quality for NRMA batteries going down hill over the 4 years!
The original battery died in my 2012 Mazda3 after 5years and was replaced in 2017 by NRMA mobile battery service. This battery lasted 3 years before dying it actually went dead whilst at the mechanics his tester showed it didn’t have much life in it and said he could put it on the deep charge or just replace it he also said the wrong battery was installed and it should have been the 600CCA not the 450CCA rating which had been installed by the NRMA technician.

Excellent roadside service
At 9am I was on the side of the road in Sydney with a car that wouldn't start. NRMA was there within 10 minutes of my call. My 6 1/2 year old battery required replacement. The patrol an had a good quality/3 year warranty battery with him and it was replaced with 10 minutes. And good value for money.
Well done NRMA with service, product and courteous well mannerd patrol men who understand what customer service means.
Always trust NRMA battery service
Excellent battery replacement service - good value, easy to book and service provided on time with efficiency and a smile. A bonus was the real-time monitoring of the patrols whereabouts and expected arrival time.
