Refusal of WarrantyGoing to go to Fair Trading as you are refusing to admit faulty battery. Had to get a jump start the day I got the battery so it wasn’t charged fully when I got it. Nothing wrong with the car on my end. My mechanic ran a battery test and it says 70% health but yours says 100 apparently. Going to cancel membership and find another roadside group. Show details
Battery qualityBeen a long term nrma roadside assistance and insurance member - bought a new nrma battery 2 1/2 years ago - with a 2 year warranty - today had to replace as had it already ended its life - $300 for another 2 yr warranty - what about higher grade with 3 yr warranty - $499 for 1 extra year . Got the 2 yr warranty battery - very disappointed in quality - my original Hyundai battery lasted 5.5 yrs , my VW Bosch battery lasted 9 yrs .
Great product & servicepurchased this battery with 3 year guarantee & has lasted for over 4 years to date cost competitive with other suppliers & they come to your home & fit it & take away old one. What more could you want ? Show details
Fast and very well pricedI had Osman from NRMA Batteries fit a battery he was fast efficient and friendly was extremely surprised at the price BMW was over $1000.00 NRMA nearly half and better than all I contacted pleasantly surprised. Show details
Excellent service but questionable quality batteryThe service call re my battery was on Sunday night of a long weekend during the rugby league grand final but 2 very pleasant mechanics arrived within 30 minutes. They tested my battery, found it required replacing and sold me a new one which they then installed, all extremely efficient. My gripe is that the old battery had been installed by NRMA exactly 3 years and 14 days before, ie it was only 2 weeks out of warranty which makes me question its quality and wonder if this experience is normal? Don't use these Calcium Batteries !Battery changed after checks. A week later the battery is discharged again. They came to service back and recommended that I have to run my car daily to charge these batteries. (I shouldn't have to!) I did and three days later the battery was flat again. I took my car to the usual mechanic, he observed it for a day, nothing happened. Then the third day , the battery is flat again. My husband even attached a battery monitor and it did show how the battery was discharging. Brought it back to our usual mechanic -observed for another 5 days and th... Read moreen the battery went flat again. Recommended to change to a new battery and never has gone flat since then. I called NRMA to say the battery you gave me was defective but apparently they did not test it themselves , so that voided the warranty! So a waste of $300 plus! You are welcome to pick up your battery.
Refused to change battery under warrantyMy battery NRMA was flat at only 6 months old - so I called road side assist who jump started it. I then took it to my garage who charged it all day - they ran a test showed the battery health was very low and it should be changed. So I called road side assist - I waited for an hour and then the guy came and did a test and showed that yes the battery needed changing. BUT he didn't have the right model of battery. So he said I should show NRMA a photo of this test tomorrow and NRMA will change it as it is under warranty . So I took time off w... Read moreork - called roadside assist again the next day. The battery guy comes out - reuses to look at the other two tests from the day before and says he will do his own test. He then says his test shows that the battery is fine and he won't change it or take into account the other two tests one which was done by a NRMA mechanic which show the battery is not functioning. I rang NRMA to complain and they kept me waiting for ages in the mean time the battery road side assist guy says he's closing the job and leaving. I have never had such a bad experience with NRMA before and I have been a member all my life. Really bad service , really bad manners , really bad experience and I still have a bad battery and have to drive for 3 hours tomorrow - if I break down on the highway because of the battery... well ........that will be on the NRMA. This is the last time I buy their batteries and I will be shopping around for other insurance and road side assistance as well. Bad service like this equals clients leaving and NEVER coming back.
road side service by NRMA replacing a batteryAfter having a service done on my car ,I was told my battery was u/s. I asked the service manager if he had a suitable battery and the cost . I was told $265.00 he had one on the rack. I told him I was a gold member of the NRMA and would get a replacement from them. I drove to a previous engagement stopped and the car wouldn't start battery was U/S. Called road side assistance, The mechanic didn't have the correct battery. He jump started my car I drove home he picked up the correct battery as the store was 300 mtrs from my home. He then fitt... Read moreed the new battery started the car then gave me the bill $395.00 . I told him I had been quoted a price far less than the NRMA price $140.00 less .After being a member for more than 50 years and had used the NRMA replacement service on previous occasions I was surprised at the price difference. I lodged a complaint on 2 occasions and had not received any reply. I personally contacted the customer relations department today. was told they hadn't replied to my complaint as they have many complaints to attend to and I was in the pile? I was advised to check the NRMA battery price guide. I did this today the price is $290/$320 not $395.00. The NRMA state they will reply within 9/11 days I'm still waiting. They also claim to be their costs are competative????
Battery replacementService was good but the comparative price was a joke on a battery compared to what else is on the market
NRMA Battery Replacement RECKLESS serviceNEGATIVE 5-STAR SERVICE !!!
My daughter called NRMA for battery replacement 2 years ago. Today, I took off the battery and realised that NRMA put the battery on top of an electrical cable and it cut off part of the cable insulation!!!
This could seriously damage the car, put it on fire and kill people, don't you know that NRMA???
Poor Quality BatteriesBattery lasted 14 months before started to show signs of dying. It only has a 20 month warranty which is the low end of the market - ie I realise now the batteries are cheap. didn’t think to check the warranty.
Batteries can come with 40 months plus warranties now - and that ain’t some special expensive fancy battery. Again shows you where NRMA sit and how they think of “members”.
I want to move away from them as it is my second bad experience and the car needs fixing so not interested in a warranty claim. Judging by the other reviews I wil... Read morel also fail to make a claim as I don’t drive the car in a fashion they like. How they prove that your driving behaviour actually caused a battery to fail is an open question. They can put forward conjecture only.
Cant faultHad iload battery replaced broken down. Two great techs changed in no time.
Battery $285 installed.Much better than more grief and wasting time. I found NRMA bats a great option.2yr warranty. Show details · 1
Good service, products and pricesSo many whingers on here! Just had my battery replaced and prices are totally reasonable - not a rort at all. E.g. $255 for a new battery for a large sedan - you'd pay $200-250 for the same type of battery at Super Cheap, and then you'd probably have to install and test it yourself, and get rid of the old one. If you're an NRMA member, installation and test is free and they recycle the old one for you. My last NRMA battery lasted seven years - that's a pretty good innings! These people who claim you can get it $100 cheaper elsewhere - is it the same capacity, three year warranty, same quality? Show details · 1
Dont do it.. Buy your batteries elsewhereTurns out, the battery I bought roadside is basically $100 cheaper anywhere else. When membership covers the cost of road service, the battery price should at the very least be competitive roadside without price gouging. .. It turns out, the 4707 battery is available in a host of places for around 170-180. But they charged me $285..
DONT BUY FROM THEM... Show details
They have a solid system but batteries sometimes hit and missBe wary that if you are not a member of nrma you need to pay an upfront membership fee so that includes a 1 year roadside assistance.
However if you are a member you get the member price of buying the battery.
Be careful that the battery is not included in the roadside assistance. It is a seperate cost.
Check your model. Show reply

I got my dead batteries replaced by NRMA with 4032 start stop batteries for a staggering $405! And I had done that replace less than 3 years prior…I am surprised why NRMA batteries run so low …not even 3 years! And the standard warranty is 2 years…the original battery(yuasa) that came with the car ran for more than 5 years; it is such a rip off!!
how much is a new batt for 2011 rav 4
Hello Simba, Apologies for the delay in reply. We do have a few different options, but we'd need some more information about your vehicle type to provide a guide on prices. You can however do this online via: external link - Paul
