Gecko 40W Lantern

Good zapper for Mosquitos – Have outdoor Living area where mosquitos can be a nuisance at dusk and meal times. There is no end of pest control solutions, zappers, coils, sprays etc. on the market - narrowed choice down to Gecko GKOLT40 40W Mosquito zapper - basically hanging lantern style with a 40W Black light / ultra violet tube and electrified grid (2,000 V) - hung it outside under eaves of patio, its weather protected, and put it to work - on the first hotter evening of use it attracted thousands of mosquitos and moths and other bugs, but not fly's - its not a fly zapper. There were literally hundreds of mosquitos attached to the electrical grid (dead) and many hundreds more in the tray at the bottom of the zapper which is easy to remove and empty. The supplier claims this unit is good enough for a 30 metre radius and looking at the results so far it is very encouraging. Can recommend this unit, works well.

PROS: > Attractive unit - not unsightly > Weather protected, to be used externally (wouldn't recommend using indoors) > Easy to clean and empty the tray > 40W lamp is easy to remove and install (30 seconds) - (GES black UV lamp available at Bunnings $25) > Effectively attracts and kills mosquitos - doesn't use attractant

CONS: > Power cable could have been longer (its fairly short at 1.3m)
