she was scratching again, so I googled how to kill bed bugs and saw alcohol kills them. So I would strip her bed and squirt Isocol along the sides of her bed. The more I googled these little bugs the more I learnt how hard it is to get rid of them. We live in Sydney and we were in lockdown because of Covid so I tried to kill them myself with Isocol. I learnt where they usually live and I was obsessed with checking her bed and the surrounding areas every morning. She was the only one being bitten. I ended up chucking out her bed. I thought that was the solution. Just get rid of the bed. Saw nothing for about a month. But then my other daughter who also gets eczema started having these strange bites on her. I wasn't sure if it was an eczema flare up or were they bed bug bites. I searched her bed and oh my goodness, there was a whole nest of them on her base.They had moved onto her bed. I had found something on line to try and get rid of the bed bug problem myself. It was a kit with a steamer, a powder, a spray. So I chucked out my other daughters bed and searched her room for any more bugs. I treated the kids room using the products I had purchased on line. But 2 weeks later I found more bugs. This time in my daughters sewing machine which sits under her desk. I was feeling very stressed from learning more about these bugs and watching You Tube videos I realised how much of a problem this really is. It seems impossible to get rid of these damn bugs. I ended up calling a pest controller who could come the next day. I prepared the house for him. He needed me to empty out anything on the floors in the wardrobes, strip the beds (which was only our bed because I had chucked out the kids beds and had them sleeping on an air bed). I bought plastic tubs to put the kids clothes in because I was learning alot more about bed bugs where they like to live and their life cycle also tips on how to store things, clear all clutter etc, unfortunately i also learnt that it was a mistake to get rid of the kids beds because it only makes the bugs find another place to call home. Pest controller came and did the 1st treatment. He was scheduled to return for a second treatment in a couple of weeks. But I had found a bed bug on my bed and I was absolutely devastated that they had found there way to my room and that the "professional" treatment hadn't worked. I was told if the bugs walk on the treatment they will die. Well- obviously not! I cancelled his 2nd visit because i was also using the kit i had purchased on line which I showed the guy and it was similar to the product they use so I continued trying to treat our house myself. I was also hot washing all bed linen often. It was going on to 3 months now of battling this bed bug problem. It was very stressful. One night during my nightly routine of researching the internet all things bed bugs, I stumbled across the "Bed Bug Barrier" website. I read some reviews and it sounded so easy. Too easy actually but it also made sense. The next day I called "Bed Bug Barrier" and the lady had Sean call me back. He could sense how stressed I was and was very patient, calm and understanding. He answered all my questions. He sounded very confident that I will successfully get rid of all the bed bugs. What did I have to lose? I have an ensemble bed. So I bought the Powder, The Duster, the Screw In Bed Bug Barrier for the bed legs, and the protector covers for the bed. November 22nd I treated the house. With Bed Bug Barrier Killer Powder you only need to treat your bed because we are the food source for the Bed Bugs and they come to us to feed and when they touch the powder it kills them. But I went crazy with the Powder. Not only did I treat our bed but I also did the edges of all rooms, I did the couch (even though I never found any bugs in the lounge but the kids had moved their airbeds to the lounge room and I was paranoid the bugs would make their way downstairs to them in the lounge). I did the edges of the stairs. I moved our bed away from the wall and kept our blankets and pillows from touching the floor. 3 days later I saw an adult female bed bug half dead walking along the bathroom floor which is next to our bedroom. I also found 2 half dead bugs under our bed. The next few days I would see random dying ones or ones that were dead. The kids new beds finally arrived and I bought all the coverings for their beds and put the powder on their bed legs as well and put them back in their room. Today is the 23rd January 2022 and the last time I saw a Bed Bug was on the 6th December 2021. I still keep all our beds away from the wall. I have left the powder along the edges of the walls and obviously the beds will always have the treatment on the bed legs. The powder will work forever if you just leave it there. But I can finally sleep peacefully. I no longer spend hours researching on line about Bed Bugs. I no longer obsessively check the floor, the beds, skirting boards, cracks with my phone torch looking for Bed Bugs every morning or during the night. Everytime i spoke to Sean i always felt reassured that i will have success in killing all the bed bugs. Hearing him speak so confidently and understanding these annoying Bed Bugs, you can tell he has years of experience. I stayed in touch with him through texting or phone calls. I would send him photos of what I had done to make sure I did everything correctly. I felt comfortable to ask him even the smallest random question. He always assured me to call or text him whenever I needed to, no matter how silly my question may be. Dust mite quilt encasement – I purchased this for my daughter and I am very unhappy and have wasted my money. This product always get tangled when she is sleeping and the inside quilt is often scrunched at the bottom of the quilt. went to Cairns for a few days & upon return I went for a nap & suddenly seen an abundance of bugs hanging out in my sons cot. A few nights of starvation made them appear in the hundreds. I felt so yuck sleeping in our beds that night & started to feel anxious as my sons arms & legs were covered & they started to bite my face at night. I googled again & noted most websites said best treatment was pest control so we got a local company in. They found them in our photo prints On the walls, bedside tables, curtains. We were infested.

We have had professional pest control attend the house & treat the same room 3 times (at a cost of $188 per visit) & those suckers returned/stayed around after each visit. Due to their resilience the pest control does not offer warranties on the treatment.

So after the third treatment I googled other alternatives & thankfully found bed bug barrier website. We have two slat beds that we steamed & applied powder to & the main room (the one that’s been treated three times) has had a massive reduction & now eradication in bed bugs.

The first night after application we checked the room & bed for bugs & found 4 sickly bugs hanging around. The next night we found 3 sick ones & after that only dead bugs. This has been a miraculous product. Our room was infested.

It was making us feel so down & out having these bugs in our house. It got so bad I wanted to move. We have already thrown out one bed due to the infestation & continuous cycle of the bugs, all the linen, pillows, quilt. We removed all items of clothing & stuck them in bags in the sun for a day, rewashed everything.

We started all over. Then they came back. They were breeding in our curtains so they were destroyed too. This has had such a huge negative impact on our lives here. We wanted to torch the room.

A few bugs now & then, dead or sickly is nothing to what we’ve dealt with. Our son was covered head to toe in bites which have scarred his little legs due to the scratching.

We can’t thank this product enough. We have set calendar reminders to reapply the powder in all the cracks & crevices monthly at this stage just to cover our bases. I feel we won’t need to after the next application for a while but due to our infestation of epic proportions I know it’ll give us peace of mind (you know when you imagine things crawling over you cos you know what used to live in there? I still feel that some nights)

Do yourself a favour & watch the videos, research how & what to do & buy the products accordingly. I believe this has been the biggest help. Do not. I repeat do not waste money on pest control as it just doesn’t work. They’re resilient little critters & will come back.
