POOR PERFORMER – Kept this in my kitchen as useless outside, only used intermittantly, the globe blew out and been trying for weeks to get a replacement from Bunnings- nil stock.

Third One, never again – I purchased my Gecko lt20g mozzie zapper from Bunnings, 6 mths later I returned it, all good they gave me a new one. Three months later I had to buy another globe, Aprox 1200 hrs work. Just blew at 4 months at around 1200 hrs again. At between $30 and $40 per globe it is a waste of good money in my opion.

Useless in Klling Mosquitos – In my experience, the Gecko LT20 Insect Killer (old style) but looks the same as current 25W model, is a pretty terrible product when it comes to killing mosquitoes which is the only reason why I bought it. Does a great job of attracting moths of all sizes particularly the 'itty bitty' ones that get in, get zapped and totally block up the electric zapping wires.
As well the UV globe needs to be removed to clean it because the tiny brush that is provided simply will not clean around the glass tubes of the globe and remove all the dead 'itty bitty' moths.
When I tried to remove the globe to clean it the glass tubes completely snapped. The company that sells them Mayo Hardware refused to replace the globe even though it was only 6 months old. Globes not covered under warranty. Nonsense.
The product has done nothing to eradicate mosquitoes and I would seriously recommend against buying this or any similar Gecko product.
The so called customer service from Mayo Hardware is nothing less than pathetic in my opinion, they said the broken globe was due to 'misuse'. I am a retired electrical engineer... 'misuse'... I don't think so!
PS:- Bunnings wouldn't give me a refund because I no longer had the sales docket.
Strongly suggest using good old fashioned Mortein Mozzie coils to keep the mozzies at bay. Use them all the time when camping in the bush.
