This pertains to the equipment associated with the cycle room only. either stuck fast or unable to hold the bars steady, flywheels of some bikes do not rotate evenly, and straps are sometimes missing from the pedal baskets. While improvements, upgrades, and maintenance appears to be applied to most areas of this gym, there seems to be a total disregard for the bikes and the safety of members that wish to participate in the various cycle classes on offer.
Moved towns and asked to cancel. Gave two options of a $200 cancelation fee or six months of making payments to a gym I don’t go too. When asking why they said I should have read the contract more clearly. Harder to leave than a cult
2nd time being a member here. a completely sub-par experience this time around. Memberships have been oversold so crowding is a common issue. The layout is cramped. doesn’t work to full efficiency. Out of all saunas I have been too across all gyms this sauna you do not get the full experience not even sealed properly the walls are bowing with wood not properly used for a sauna. The sauna is too small were it should have a wooden door not an unsealed glass door. The roof above is burnt and leaking outside the unit. As mentioned before I have approached staff to give feedback and improve their facility as paying members I am not the only member that feels this way countless members have said the same thing regarding this problem. Memberships are expensive enough as it is and we don’t get provided a sauna that works properly nor sealed properly. Will submitting a further report to genesis head office!

Highly recommend Bundoora – Been a member at bundoora for years and only recently started pt training. Have seen almost every trainer here who are professional and their workouts are excellent. I haven't sweated that much in ages. I've also been a member at the preston store and can't say the same thing.
Great experience – Belmont, Western Australia. Great small gym, manager always says hello. Alex the Exercise Physiologist knows his stuff as does Nic the PT. I’m on a weekly, cancel anytime membership (gym use only EP and PT extra) and have just signed up for the full membership which includes all of the exercise classes

In my case, I joined for the yoga classes, treadmill and some upper body work using equipment. I have read some of the posts about the equipment being old and run down. This absolutely does not apply to Boronia. They have heaps of equipment and it seems very clean and modern. There is no chance of standing around waiting for equipment.
I was taken through some suggestions today for equipment that would suit my workout needs. I felt listened to and was shown how to use each machine properly. I cannot remember the name of the lady, but she was great.
Genesis offers boxing, yoga and other speciality classes. You can use an app to book your place.

Unfortunately, the staff haven’t been able to fix what should be a straightforward matter. It’s been a frustrating process, and I’m left feeling let down by the lack of care and accountability. Would recommend others look elsewhere unless changes are made.

Do Not Join too much stress – DO NOT DO ITto yourself. They change the rules to suit themselves whenever. The fabricate the truth, ACCC is aware and watching so complain to them and ombudsman!

cooling off period once the membership became active on the 11 November. When I called to check today as emails had gone unanswered I was told that the membership had not been cancelled and the the cooling off was 7 days after I signed up not 7 days after the membership starts. I explained I had asked to cancel it within the 7 days even if that was the case. Even though Australian consumer law states the period should be 7 days after membership becomes active. I was told someone would call me back immediately but no one did. I want this membership cancelled today or I will be contacting the ombudsman tomorrow afternoon. This membership was sold on a complete fabrication of a service that will not be provided and refusing to cancel it within the 7 days is bad business practice
Robbed me – Cancelled my membership in May because I knew I was leaving the country at the end of June. I sent screenshot evidence of the phone call where I cancelled my membership and was accused of lying because the timezone had changed back to UK time despite letting them know I had in fact moved back to England. I was then told the manager would look into my case on Wednesday, I have had to reach out to them again on Thursday because no one has tried to resolve this. I have lost $89 to this company and they have been completely unhelpful, I have been waiting 2 weeks and still no resolution.

Evil Gym – Terrible experience these people are scammers who will non-stop threaten you with debt collectors and will use free trials to try to charge you $4000!!!! worst experience ever absolutely criminal!!!

the personal trainer how to use equipment and why some people had towels. Apparently there is a hygiene policy, but the personal trainer just said "if you get sweaty you should wipe the equipment down". Thank goodness I did not go in during covid. I felt unsafe, unsupported and it was taken for granted that I knew everything. Which is impossible as I have never been to a gym before. So I cancelled my membership, unfortunately after the cooling off period had ended, less than 36 hours after. It took them three working days to acknowledge my email and even then only after I had fronted up at the gym to ask why nothing had happened. They charged me a $205.80 cancelation fee. I would not recommend this business to anyone. They sign you up, treat you poorly, don't meet the assertions made on their website, then rely on the legal letter of the contract to take money from you.

This clever dick company is out to swindle you. Be careful to read the fine print – This money hungry company has a complex, non-intuitive procedure which makes it almost impossible for you to cancel your membership. If you let them know that you want to terminate, as my son did by phone during one of the COVID lockdowns, they want to continue charging you for a period, and if you don't pay up for that period, they don't cancel… Read more
your membership at all, even though you have already advised them. And they continue charging you, leading up to the point that they set an aggressive debt collection company on you, even though you have not been attending their premises or receiving any services from them for years. The debt collection company will then harass you and subject you to continuous aggravation, hoping that you will eventually give in and pay up. All the time, the amount of money they want to recover from you is steadily increasing, even though they have set the debt collectors onto you. And you have ceased attending their premises years ago. My wife had a similar experience when she tried to leave this fitness company. It was also impossible to communicate with them at their premises, because there was never anybody in attendance who had any authority.
Pay for broken facilities – Equipment broken, old equipment that isn’t well maintained, bathrooms look constantly dirty and now they’re being renovated but haven’t bothered to organise suitable substitutes, aircons desperately need to be cleaned and the service is the worst part of all the management look down on you. Exactly what we needed – We were visiting Perth for a sporting Nationals event. We required a place for athletes to train during the 10 days we were there. Genesis Kelmscott were helpful in setting us up so our athletes could train with minimal fuss.
Avoid this business at all costs – Asked about cancelling a gym membership, they took over 2 months to get back to me incurring further fees. prior to that sending me multiple debt collection threatening sms texts. I am now referring the matter to the department of fair trading. Avoid this business Genesis Fitness Mayfield owned by Belgravia at all costs.
Staff are rude – I’ve been a genesis user for 6 or more months now and up until the new manager came it was going great. But as it stands the new manager has found reasons to dislike me when I haven’t spoken to her once. I’ve seen her mumble things about me to other staff members of the gym and it makes me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. They let the males reserve weight machines you want to use, while they are using other equipment – They can't handle complaints from females and feel "harassed" instead of helping when asked. They let other members heckle you instead of assisting.
Set a debt collector on me after lockdown – I was on a direct debit membership and they couldn't charge me during lockdown, and immediately set a debt collector on me for $800 at the end of 2020. in getting as much money as possible out of you. They do not care if what they are trying to sell you suits your needs, they just want your money. Two years after cancelling my membership I am still being hassled by them. My advice, avoid genesis fitness!

Find another gym – Do not give direct debit access - sneaky communications, taking of funds even after explict instructions to stop, refusing to provide refunds. Sadly their approach is all about extracting every last dollar from the customer in the short term rather than building a positive long term relationship.

was gone without returning my car keys. Even the yoga teacher was shocked that someone would just leave without returning my car key. There was another girl in a similar situation, luckily for her she only gave her her student ID. I had to take an Uber to go home and came back the next day to recover my key. This time there was another woman, she would not even apologize. Terrible service, not even a small piece of common sense.
Just plain evil – The gym's themselves are overpriced for what they offer: outdated equipment, dirty changerooms and frequently out of order sauna due to kids pouring water/pissing on element. didn't seem to understand basic math or contract law concepts. She insisted I couldn't cancel while my membership had been suspended by them during COVID. Furthermore the 30 day period couldn't even tick down, despite no mention of this restriction in the the contract.
