This is the second time I have used Globelink International to freight goods between New Zealand and Australia, and once again the experience was professional and extremely well handled. The communication between Jacqui McCombie and the team in Sydney, along with Steve in Christchurch, ensured a smooth and timely collection and delivery process… Read more

throughout.

The cost was also significantly cheaper than other quotes I received, while still delivering excellent service. I would happily recommend Globelink to anyone needing freight services between New Zealand and Australia. Thank you Globelink International - Diana Wilkins

Outrageous overcharging. Total rip off – Misleading fees. Didn't show all costs and they made their own costs look like statutory costs with many more substantial costs being added later. It ended up costing far more than the shipment. I managed to get them to reduce some ridiculous fees such as several hundred dollars to hold a half metre box in the shipping area for two days. I have… Read more

since found that I could have had it all done much more cheaply and have notified the overseas supplier to not use them again. A very unpleasant experience.

Worst Service, will never recommend – It was a worst experience to send items. I booked an Item through PFS in Melbourne and they booked it further with Globelink International. My Item’s shipment process was started after 4 weeks I dropped item and gave payment. Later on item was not delivered on the decided location and I have to manage and pay everything by myself. Finally item costed me 2 times more the amount I purchased it for. Will never recommend PFS and GLOBELINK.  Show details

Worst forwarding agent we have ever used, be warned - use K&N or TOLL etc – Our business regularly gets shipments from Sweden, Germany and other countries. Generally we use K&N and now TOLL, but we had the very unfortunate displeasure of being ripped off by Globelink. Their "port clearance charges" were THREE TIMES the other suppliers - $1800 Vs $600. Funny as you'd think this is just a cost being passed on as freight… Read more

was already prepaid in Europe.

Note - this is a trick of many of these unethical forwarding agents, they give you a slightly cheaper rate to organising shipping of goods and then take advantage of you this end, we have been warned but just never have been taken advantage of until now.

The excuse was something along the lines of "oh you weren't our regular shipper, next time we can organise a better price??"

Hopefully will never have to come across them again.

Anyone interested in also taking them to the Fair Trades Ombudsman just sent me a PM.

Horrible Service and Fake information provided by Globelink Staff – As a part of my company we have recently entered in to import & export stream. My supplier has chosen “Globelink International Pty Ltd “as the Sea freight Consolidator to send the products over to Australia. I have requested a quotation from “Globelink International Pty Ltd “to clear the product from customs. (Contact Person @ “Globelink… Read more

International Pty Ltd “- [name removed]).

Rather giving me the quotation “Globelink International Pty Ltd “insisted on signing the LOA. They said they could only provide a quotation after the customer signing the LOA & that was their policy. Initially, I refused to sign the LOA however, after realizing my goods cannot be released until this issue has been sorted I gave up & signed the document.

Then I received an email from “Globelink International Pty Ltd “stating the customs clearance happens from when the vessel is just arrived to Australia therefore asking to pay $800+.

Since I have been asking only for a quotation & NOT to clear the goods yet, I refused & questioned (via email) why the goods have been cleared without my permission.

Then I spoke to another agent with another clearance agent and Australian customs who confirmed the information stating about the vessel is only arrived and not able to clear the product until they unload. Again Globelink International Pty Ltd staff fake me to get money out of our company.

During the process, [name removed] from “Globelink International Pty Ltd “started harassing me via emails & calls which then I had to take this matter to his manager ([name removed]) who made an apology (via email) and agreed to reverse the clearance order.

After that once again [name removed] from “Globelink International Pty Ltd “, send another email demanding $308.

With the breakdown as

- Port service charges = $145

- Delivery order = $160

- Infrastructure Fee = $3

I spoke to customs direct to ensure the charges were correct & as I suspected the customs advised the charges should be in fact

- Port service charge $120 per cbm,

- terminal handling $20 cbm,

- delivery order fee $30 per BoL and

- MISC $2.50.

And

- Agent fee for withdrawing charges $198. This is after I spoke to [name removed] and I have decided not to proceed with their services. [name removed] confirmed me over the phone stating there won’t be any charges. Now [name removed] has added this amount to my bill and forcing me to pay that amount otherwise, he won’t be issuing EDO to release the product.

From one end the manager is saying there are no further charges involved & then the other end they are sending me invoices.

I have tried to get hold of the manager via the phone & so as the CEO for “Globelink International Pty Ltd “- [name removed] & failed

Entire team is not answering any calls & I have been informed that they are in China, however their contact mobile numbers are displayed on the company website.

Given it’s a so called reputed company one would think if the contact details are listed on the website that they would bother to pick up a call? Or are we (customers) been misled?

Even if they are overseas, wouldn’t they have international roaming?

After a lengthy attempt one the Senior Imports Operator ([name removed]) decided to answer the call. I have explained the situation to her & she advised that she couldn’t assist me in any way & denied the company has done any wrong doing.

I have communicated to “Globelink International Pty Ltd “few times that my company has just started a new line of business in import & export & still would consider keeping “Globelink International Pty Ltd “as the Sea freight Consolidator (giving them a 2nd chance) but “Globelink International Pty Ltd ” has reacted very unprofessionally throughout.

No one at “Globelink International Pty Ltd “is willing to help nor they would stand for what they promise on their Mission statement (“consistent reliable service, satisfying our client's specific needs, together with the most competitive rates”).

Also, they claim on their Mission statement that they will continue to be dedicated in creating a happy team environment however the staff doesn’t agree to what the managers would say & the managers have no clue about the poor customer service delivered by their staff. Communication breakdown is what I have experienced in every level. From managers to assistant staff. They are trying to drag the situation as much as they can so that they could charge me storage fee on top of their charges.

Ultimately, I have paid another $ 200 to obtain EOD.

I am publishing this for everyone out there who’s looking for a Sea Freight Consolidator to be aware “Globelink International Pty Ltd “

Do not trust them & be disappointed. They are trying to rip the customers off as much as possible.

Please pass this information to as many businesses you know as this is NOT the way we do business in Australia!!!

Nevertheless, I am currently working with fair trade - Ombudsmen against “Globelink International Pty Ltd “as expect justice to be served.

Horrible Service – The staff are impatient and rude. They process everything so slowly with no regard for the customer and storage costs incurred. I paid hundreds extra for storage due to this. They are overpriced, rude and the costs will only grow. This is my first review review ever (that's how bad it was), I will never use them again.  Show details

Company of Choice – I've been shipping with Globelink since they started in Australia now 17 plus years. from the first pick up of the phone you are greeted with a happy and helpful person. a company that indeed goes the extra mile every time.

You have to be careful when purchasing goods from overseas and it is always best to find a forwarder prior. Don't leave this up to the supplier to ship directly always control your own shipments don't leave up to the shipper especially out of China as Company's in Australia have no control over locals and the like this I can warn anyone of as you can't put the blame on the agent handling it in Australia as costs escalate due to the shipper.

Total Lack of Service and Incorrect Information Provided Resulting in Overcharges – We were told that this company does not provide a door to door shipment service when in fact they do. By the time we found this out through their rude in-house Customs Broker we had been charged several hundred dollars in storage and holding fees. When we asked as to why we were given incorrect information their broker said "Well that is just how… Read more

it happened so you'll have to wear it..."

Suffice to say we would never use this company again for any reason. I warn all would be sea freighters to go elsewhere as their outsourced staff in their call centre have no idea what they are talking about and their false information could set you back hundreds of dollars. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

Lack of service, overcharging, giving out incorrect and inaccurate information
