wouldnt reccommend – We purchased a brand new golf challenger in july 2011.Only had it a few weeks when we were told there was a recall for the wind up winch, so we took it back, they had it for 2 weeks . Our first camping holiday was a disaster right from the start. found a good camping spot went to wind it up and snap it wouldnt wind up so we had travelled almost 300km and couldnt get the top up we rang avan adelaide where we bought it from and was told to bring it back so we drove back 300 km dropped it off they temporarely fixed it so we could go away and we took it back after a cut short holiday as the fridge would not work either.. they had it a further 3 weeks to fix it as they had to wait for the part. We were not offered any compensation for our troubles even though we did the right thing and took it back when it was recalled and they suposedly changed the faulty cable. All i wanted was a little money towards the petrol money it cost us for the 600 round km that was totally their fault. The manager said they were put out of pocket to fix our van as it was. So i would strongly reccommend not to buy one of these vans they are rubbish. Best thing we ever did was to sell it at over a $4000 loss. looked nice Faulty winch,

I couldn't agree more. The first time we wound the van up it collapsed. We got that repaired and took the van away and the fridge didn't work. The van was at the repair shop for 8 weeks. We took it away again and we could not access mains pressure water. Apparently there was no facility for that despite the salesman and the brochure stating that there was. The supplied camp room also had the wrong parts so we could not use it. Back to the repair shop. The family took it to the coast over Christmas 2012 and the lines to the lights fell apart. My husband could fix that. We then went to Tasmania and all went well until the spare wheel fell off the back. Fortunately it was when we were travelling very slowly and not on the winding road which we had just been on. Got back to the mainland and we tried to open the van and the winding mechanism failed again. Back to repair shop. Last trip was to western NSW in October. By the time we got to Broken Hill my husband had to buy some tools and spent a day reattaching the big cupboard which had come adrift and the door which was hanging by one scew in the end. At no time have management been interested in our complaints. They ignore letters and won't take phone calls. Our repairer kept hinting that they might do something but nothing has been forthcoming. We estimate we have travelled over 800km to the repairer and spent $30 in tolls each time. These vans are a load of rubbish.

Yes Mary we also had other problems too like the screws to hold the bed ends up are pathetically small, one of the bars broke overnight due to the screws coming out luckily there are 2 bars to hold the bed up. We also had to take our camper to a fridge repairer not to avan and had to wait 6 weeks to get it in to be fixed. We had to take the van back in atleast 4 times which was not convenient especially when we decided to buy brand new as to not have these problems boy was i wrong. We were also told about the water pressure and water level indicater which were not on there even though they were advertised in the brochure. when i asked they said if you read the fine print it says something like some vans may vary. As for the door lining up what a joke. My husband fixed all of the above problems we had so we could sell it as we would never have sold it like it was because we have a conscience unlike golf campers. As i said it was the best thing we ever did is to get rid of it. who wants to go on a holiday and get to there destination and find they cant wind it up. I would never reccommend a camper to anyone. We have bought a jayco discovery pop top caravan and couldnt be more happy with it. no problems what so ever, we love it. Been on a few great holidays in it with no problems at all.
