Goodyear Optilife 3 – Absolutely shocking tyres. Ok in dry conditions, but in the wet they are dangerous. I brought 4 of them a week ago, lucky I had a 30 day guarantee, because I'm getting them replaced. Not good enough Goodyear.
Tolerable in the dry, appalling in the wet – I have these on a Nissan X-Trail I just bought. For such a well known brand I was absolutely shocked by the wet weather performance. You practically have to crawl around every roundabout in the wet to avoid massive understeer. Unfortunately I found this out the hard way after it understeered at low speed and I slammed into the Curb. My tyres have… Read more
plenty of tread left but for my own safety I'm changing them out ASAP because I would prefer to take a $700 hit rather than harming myself or passengers in my car.

Great tyre for the money – These tyres are midrange tyre and great value for the kilometres you get out of them. Many cheaper brands will be worn out after 40,000 k’s but I’ve got nearly 80,000 k’s out of these before needing to replace them. I would have got another set but the tyre place near me didn’t stock them so I ended up buying Yokohama’s which although slightly… Read more
quieter don’t appear to have as much tread thickness as the optilife’s did so I’m not optimistic that they will last as long.
Will have to wait and see.
decent tires – decent tires, better than generic china made tyres. feels a little bit of slip in the rain compared to michelin and bridgestones. i would recommend if in a pinch or settling for average quality.
Great bargain – I bought this one for my 2 front tires, after searching online and comparing the prices this one is so far the cheapest ($115 each, Jan 2019). However, I can't really compare it because this model is exclusive to Kmart. The good thing about this: you can call Kmart centre and browse on their website at the same time to choose your tyre and book… Read more
an appointment. It comes with all the frills, wheel rotation every 6 months, wheel balancing. It costs extra to do the wheel alignment $69. The store manager convinced me to take the wheel alignment because I was changing my front tyres and it will help the tyre worn evenly. Apparently, this one has 50k km warranty, but the same store manager says that there are so many TnC. and honestly, I might have upgraded my car by then since I only drive about 5k a year.
So far so good, when I drove back home I can feel 5% extra comfort, I don't know if its due to the wheel alignment or the new tyres or it was just my impression.

Aweful – So noisey I can't drive the car and very dangerous in the wet ..Good year you have lost me for life.. If it doesn't save you once a year it's a bad year! Show details
Do not buy these tyres - Very dangerous on wet roads, will just spin and give absolutely no grip – Do not buy these tyres - Very dangerous on wet roads, will just spin and give absolutely no grip, With Goodyear you have just one hand print between you and a sure death! The price was competitive but do not risk your life! Show details
Makes driving not fun especially when wet – Recently bought a BA fairmont with a near new set of these tyres , learnt the hard way almost they are not good in the wet setting off or stopping , wheelspin can be easily found if damp or only lightly wet , and stopping even moderate for fast slowing cars ahead can cause the ABS to activate , to there credit the tyres seem pretty quiet at most… Read more
speeds and they also are good at holding there set pressures , the stopping in a hurry part is far and away my worst nightmare and when raining i'm always on alert big time .

Bit slippery but dont wear out – If you drive to the conditions they are alright. Performance is good. they last for a long time. On a hilux not too bad off road either. Long life tyres with some flaws. Show details
Woeful tyres – Had them fitted to our second car (Toyota Yaris) and the traction / overall handing was pitiful. Put up with them for 3 mths then binned them for a set of Michelins which were basically the same price. Don't waste your money or your life with these tyres! Show details
Noisiest tyres ever !! – I’ve been driving 40 years and recently purchased a ford territory which had these tires fitted just prior to sale. Tyres were quiet then, but 3 months on they started to sound noisy like more than one of the tires is out of round. They are so noisy I’m thinking of trashing them - can’t wait for them to wear out ! The noisiest tires ever ! Show details
Simply dangerous!!! – Similar to Warwick below. Been complaining to Mycar for some time but they lose traction in the wet badly and even in the dry at times. I also have a Mazda 6, 2012 and I would never recommend them. Was told by mycar that the price of long life comes at a cost....unacceptable. Show details
Dangerous! – I got them on my 2006 focus. I replaced quite quickly on the front as there is very little traction in the wet. Still have them on the rear as they will not wear out. Going for 75k there but nearly spun the car on a roundabout twice in wet conditions with my daughter in the booster seat. Don’t buy Goodyear Optilife Show details

Poor traction – 5 months ago I swapped my 2015 triton for a 2015 octavia Stationwagon that came with Goodyear optilife's. It's a front wheel drive family car and not sporty by any means. When its dry it's got poor traction, when its wet it's downright dangerous. It's also noisy. Going to swap to something safer soon as these are just not safe. Show details
Noisy. Horrible in the wet – Noisiest tyre ever. Handles like a scared kitten on wet Lino at the first sign of rain. Durability is probably compromised by all the wheel spin, even in the dry. Front wheel drive Golf TDi so it’s torquey but I’ve had much better tyres on a similar car. Show details
Complete dangerous JUNK – I remember when I was a 12 year old kid in the early 70's and my dad put brand new Goodyear tyres on the car and somewhere between Mt Isa and Townsville we blew one out and another was separating the tread from the tyre. I now just bought a Corolla with Goodyear Optilfe with 90% tread left and they are out of round big time. This is living proof… Read more
that the pathetic method of their way of making tyres in the 70's hasn't changed. Never ever buy goodyear tyres......
Goodyear Optilife Tyres – If you had completely bald Tyres in another brand there would be more traction. In a front wheeled drive 2010 Mazda 6 they are dangerous particularly in the wet. Durability is not worth thi king about after you have had an accident. Avoid these Tyres. Show details
ok for a budget tyre – Not great in the wet and noisy on bitumen. 37,000kms overall on a Subaru Outback. I would recommend shopping around elsewhere for tyres as there are many better options than these from many other tyre stores.. Show details

Tyres were not what I requested – Tyres are noisy, harsher ride and car does not steer as well as when it was fitted with Forteras. Not at all impressed as despite having a wheel alignment when the four tyres were fitted, the car does not track as well as it did. No opportunity yet to assess wet weather performance but have little confidence that they will perform well. Have used… Read more
Goodyear tyres for over 25 years and these would have to be the worst tyres that have been fitted to my cars.
Not tyre l req use sted – I specially requested to replace damaged tyre with exactly the same ie. hankook kinergy eco. 50K mileage guarantee is false – Kmart Gungahlin did not honour the 50K mileage promise. Tyres are completely worn now at 33K. They are evenly worn but I’m not happy about the distance. I purchased them with a full wheel alignment and balance as they said it carries a guarantee of 50K if you take a wheel alignment with the purchase (which I always do with a Tyre purchase). did. Now they say I need to visit them regularly for alignment and rotation. They did not tell me this when I bought the tyres. I buy tyres in pairs so don’t rotate. I have four vehicles and am a Kmart Canberra customer for Tyre and insurance since 2011. Now decided to look for other places.

Good Year Optilfe 235/55/18 – I've only had these tyres for a few days so i cant comment on durability but i can say this much, these tyres feel fantastic, very smooth, comfortable, and quiet, they feel even better than the Michellins they just replaced, and with a 104v load rating (900kg) and a V speed rating (240km/h) the handling and extra safety of these tyres is very… Read more · 2
comforting. the staff at KMA Tweed Heads couldn't be more helpful as my new rims are over $1200 each the staff were extremely careful not to mark them i couldn't be happier with the service i received thank you very much.
October 21st 2019 Update: Check your rims.
Many people unfairly blame the tyre for balance problems, wheel shimmy, and vibrations etc when many times the problem is the wheel itself, if you have fitted aftermarket wheels to your car most times you will need "hub centric" rings these are small rings that fit inside the wheel hub bore to center the wheel to the car hub while the lug nuts are tightened, check your rims for radial and lateral run out before blaming the tyre, apart from a very slight tyre whine i cannot fault these tyres, i hope this helps, regards George Johns "A" grade motor mechanic.
Goodyear Tyre lasted 5 kilometers - Guarantee worthless – Sidewall of Goodyear OptiLife tyre blew out after driving 5 kilometers from Kmart auto to home in Canberra. Kmart said tyre must have been slashed or driven over rocks and won't honor guarantee. I have a dog and there are no rocks in my driveway, only in my head for having bought these tyres. Noisy and harsh ride – I have a Territory TX AWD. I have had these Goodyear Optilife for a year or so. The family won't drive any distance with these tyres due to noise and harshness I am 72 and these are the worst tyres I have experienced in my life. Took the issue up with KMart Auto but no response. PS I have no complaints about Kmart Auto staff I have always had excellent service from them over the many years I have used them. Show details

Woeful - feel like cheap hard chinese import tyres – Worst tyres I have ever owned - noisy, extremely low grip to the point of being dangerous in the wet, balances and wheel alignments kept up and they are going out of round and only done 15ooo kms so far.Sound more like an mud terrain tyre on the freeway. My old Goodyear Forteras on the tread wear limiters had more grip than these things. The guys at KTAS said these were superb. Sorry but a big NO. Show details

the customer satisfaction surveys 9/10 was common apart from KTAS who else gets 9/10, I no longer work in the call centre but I still tell my workmates and friends to shop there hard to believe they are owned by Coles.
So far So good – Well, got these tyres fitted by KMart a month ago, so far so good. I honestly do not think I can comment much on the durability for another 2 years or so. However, I like the idea that it comes with a 50,000km warranty, and their price is a fraction of my original Bridgestone. In terms of service, I find that Kmart Tyres at Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown is provides a professional and courteous service to customer. I will definitely return Show details · 1
These tyres are not for every body – Hi, i ordered kumho tyres from Kmart Tyre & Auto Service on the 08/01/2018 booked the car in for tyres to be fitted at Maitland on 24/01/2018 left my car with them, they rang me to say the kumho tyres were not there so i went back to have a look at these OPTILIFE that they recommended to me with a 50,000 KLM tread guarantee so me living an hour… Read more
& 15 minutes away took these tyres so i would not have to go back, These tyres are rough, noisy and bumpy do not suit may KIA, i have taken the car back to have the tyres repositioned on the rim and rebalanced but did not make much difference, i made phone to KTAS and they said we will get back to you shortly and never did, so now have to grin and bear them. Not Happy. These tyres are exclusive to Kmart Tyre & Auto Service. Update on these tyres, These tyres went on 67000 kl and now have done 92000 kl and inside the car sounds like it is full of marbles, the tyre is as hard as a rock,

Recommended: fitted to Subaru Liberty AWD sedan as a budget alternative to Michelin – Durability, So far so good, wear rate seems about right, low noise level not at all noisy, grip feels safe in the wet no sense of squirm in the dry. very good heavy braking characteristics, takes ABS to the limit recommended at the price point offered by Kmart with their tyre saver service Show details · 1
Long Life, But Pretty Noisy – Decent tyre, much better than some other mid range tyres i've had. Decent grip too and long life, managing around 70000kms, running them right to the bare minimum. Good enough tyre but road noise was pretty high, probably being the trade off for the longer life. I would buy again if on a tight budget.. Show details

Does the job – The Tyres seems to last at least 30k on the odometer. Seems to work fine in getting my car to and from work for not affecting performance. Not that I am racing to work each day. The people at Kmart auto recommended this tyre for my car. Seems to cost pretty average compared to other car tyres. Show details

Great tyres in terms of being hard wearing – I've got these on three of my cars at the moment and they have lasted for a very long time, so do live up to their name in that respect. I do find however that the handling and road noise generated is not great compared to some of the 'softer' sportier tyres on the market (which don't last anywhere near as long). I previously used Dunlop SP Sports… Read more · 1
and found they were more comfortable but wore out very quickly. Weighing up the pros and cons I prefer these Goodyear's.
Don't buy these – Having bought the cheapest to the most expensive Michelin brands I expect at $230 per tyre that these would be right up there. Wrong! Hard ride, not great cornering , after 2 balances on good rims they still vibrated. Took them off in less than 7 days and despite Beaurepairs recommending them, they were awful. Have them up for sale at half the… Read more
