Don't ever buy Google pixel7 and horrible customer service experience – Google Sold Me a Faulty Phone TWICE – No Fair Resolution! I purchased a brand-new Google Pixel 7 Pro for over $1,400 AUD, and I am still paying for it with Optus plan. However, my experience with Google’s customer service has been extremely frustrating and unfair. My first device was faulty and had to be replaced. Instead of a new phone, Google… Read more
sent me a refurbished replacement.
Now, this refurbished phone is also faulty (it doesn’t charge, and the issue is NOT with the charger).
I asked for a new replacement, but Google refuses and insists on sending yet another refurbished device.
The replacement process takes up to 15 days, leaving me without a phone during this time.
What I Am Asking For:
1. A brand-new replacement from the Google Store, OR
2. A full refund so I can purchase a new phone myself.
I paid for a new phone, not a used/refurbished one that keeps failing. Google must take responsibility for providing customers with working, reliable devices.
If Google does not resolve this fairly, I will escalate this complaint to the Australian Consumer Protection authorities, including the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) and ACCC.
I urge Google to do the right thing and provide a fair resolution.

Excellent smartphone from Google – Just upgraded my Pixel 6 Pro to 7 Pro. 6 Pro was already good enough and I owned it for a year. But 7 Pro with it's additional camera features, VPN, AI, face recognition, longer battery life and bugs fixing is just amazing. I think it's the best smartphone available today on the market. And last but not least the design is just stunning. Some pictures attached to show camera/zoom capabilities.

I really loved this phone initially but the battery has started dying after 18months – I really loved this phone initially but the battery has started dying after 18months. It only holds charge for about 6hours with minimal usage.
Pixels just keep getting better! – I recently upgraded from the Pixel 6 and am happy I went for the pro this time. The camera is a step up from what I had, plus it's great to still have the eraser tool for any photos I take. I highly recommend this feature to remove anything unwanted in the background. The larger screen has been great for emails, plus the screen is really crisp! I love to play games in my free time and they run quick on comparison to my prior phone. Show details
Solid phone – Camera is very good, you can take good macro and long distance pictures, high quality videos. Functions well, very smooth. Would suggest getting a case or protector for the camera bump and not just the phone as it can become scratched quite easily. Show details

2 years after owning the pixel 7 pro, and how would one summarize the phone overall! Meh..... The issues with the phone are just ongoing and truly horrendous. First issue, and the biggest issue, overheating! Charge the phone and it gets hot, or how about leaving the phone on a cool surface while you send emails on your laptop, oh it will overheat!… Read more
What level of overheating would you say it gets to? The phone gets so hot WHEN NOT PLUGGED INTO A CHARGER THAT THE GLUE USED FOR THE VOLUME BUTTON ON THE SIDE MELTS AND THE VOLUME BUTTON FALLS OFF!!! That's right!!! So now when I need to turn up volume or down volume I have to look like a tool in public asking "Hey Google, turn volume down"! All of this started over a year ago! I went into my phone providers store and they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg and my first born child to fix it. There is no Google Pixel stores so you can't ask for help. So today, 2 years and 1 month after having the phone I googled for help (Yeah, I Googled help for the Google phone) now even though I previously had done everything I could think of and seen everyone I could about fixing this issue. Everyone wanted body parts and first borns as payment!!! (I love my daughter so she is staying with me) When I finally spoke to someone, a Google Pixel support person. I told them about the severity of the issues I've been having, the overheating, freezing, battery not lasting more than 5 hours and that is even without use. The Pixel support person dragged out the conversation for over half an hour of my life to say, "You are 1 month outside of your warranty period, would you like me to go through the repair options"!!!! The repair options? Are you kidding me, I finally find someone who can help me and instead of help or show some kind of good faith, they waste my time to try and charge me every previously mentioned to repair a phone that has been having issues for over a year. When I said thank you for making my decision easier going to Samsung or Apple he responded with pretty much, "We Don't Care"! So overall, the Google Pixel 7 pro is a horrible phone and highly recommend staying away from. Much better alternatives with better customer support and much easier support.
I bought a new Pixel 7A in June 2024 but didn't use it until December 2024 - it had issues with call connectivity - I persevered with the phone and Google's attempts to rectify the issue until February - during the time until February I spent days running through options Google gave me until they finally agreed to replace the phone under warranty.… Read more
It took 2 weeks for them to get a new phone back to me and when it came back it didn't have a charging cable or wall plug with it. When I returned the original phone they specifically requested that I also send back all the accessories (which I did). I sent them a message after getting the new phone to ask about accessories, explaining I had sent them back as requested - they then sent me a message asking that I confirm what accessories "I had ACCIDENTALLY" sent back to them. I confirmed what had been sent back and provided a copy of the email where they requested I send them back. In the 3 requests to them about having these replaced I highlighted the wall plug needed to be for an Australian socket. They sent an email back saying they had now checked with their resources and it was confirmed that I had indeed returned the items I was asking about and that they were sending me a new USB charging cable - I asked again about the wall plug and they said they would need to check again with their resources. We are now into our 50th message about this replacement and in each message they apologise for the inconvenience - how many times does a company apologise for the same thing before you realise they don't mean it and don't actually care. Device-Support at Google is the worst customer service I have ever experienced - I haven't really had enough time to work out whether the phone is OK or not, but on the basis of their customer service I would suggest to people that they should not buy any Google phone or other products.
Unreliable and flakey – It's the worst phone I've ever owned. The crashes and restarts are regular, unpredictable behaviour. I would avoid anything pixel. Update as of 19.12, I traded the device in for a different android brand who offered $235 for the handset, a bonus of $200 for trade it (some new devices have $300 bonus) and it arrived within 1 business day.... too early to say but glad to be rid of the Google Pixel 7. I find it hard to rate a phone because I'm comparing a phone to a desktop PC. And I haven't really been through hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of cell phones, so I can't compare phone to phone. So in my opinion, a phone that functions, obviously not equivalent to a PC, but functions similar to a PC would receive more positive feedback from me.… Read more
The first thing I noted was the heat the phone produces, which is similar to a PC. PCs produce phenomenal heat, so a phone that is producing phenomenal heat as opposed to no heat is a phone, in my opinion, that is functioning better. Of course heat causes problems such as freezing and shutdown. My phone hasn't shut down but it has frozen. In the case of that I just turn the phone off and let it cool down, put it in the shade or find a way to help cool it down just by leaving it. Once I boot it back up again it works fine. the overheating is causing the problem which as I always knew was a problem for a phone that overheats but I've never come across a phone that overheats like this one because I've never really invested in a phone until now.
While I bought this phone refurbished, not brand new, it was relatively cheap, within the $300 range. The phone was marked as a flagship phone, but doesn't have display alt mode, which was disappointing because I wanted to use the phone specifically for display port alt mode. But upon use and process in time, I have found that the display alt mode is not entirely necessary if necessary at all.
The camera is very good, better than any phone I've had. Not saying I've had any good phones, I haven't had any brilliant, high grade, top of the mark phones. This is probably the best phone I've ever owned and the camera functions very well. I bought the phone because I have a visual impairment that has increased so much I am almost blind. So I needed a phone that could facilitate in daily functions such as reading. The phone is integrated with Google Lens which is a brilliant application that can perform OCR to the standard of a $5,000 device. Also the camera is brilliant for taking general photos for selling online.
I have to use talkback which I think is a problem with most phones but overall talkback works at an optimal performance with this phone 95% of the time. Sometimes it glitches out, sometimes it becomes unresponsive and at these times I simply restart the phone by pressing and holding down the power button, the volume up and volume down button for 5 seconds and the phone reboots and restarts everything and works back to normal. It's a minor hiccup, but not a huge hiccup as I can see the problem being much larger and bigger with other phones. There are Google Pixel Pro 8 and 9, I believe. This is generation 7, so it's fairly obsolete. And as far as an obsolete phone goes, I have to say I'm rather satisfied with its functionality. It's very lightweight, very slim and has a very suave appearance which is good. I don't use this phone in public or carry it around much because from experience carrying phones around, carrying phones around usually ends up in damaging them. So it's best just to let the phone remain stationary. It acts as a great router for internet tethering to my desktop PC better than other phones, which is brilliant. During tethering it doesn't overheat. In fact it doesn't heat up at all. The phone is almost dormant during tethering. So I can simply use my PC in compensation for using the phone which is really very good. It also is good for transferring files to and from the PC. I'm writing this review after a month or so of use with this phone. I haven't had it for two to three years, so I'm not writing a mature product review.
But the main reason I bought this phone is because of the integration of display port mode which it doesn't even have so that was disappointing. But also it turns out the integration with Google Lens and the Google Pixel Pro 7 is superior to most phones. So optical character reading which is hard to achieve and also expensive has become very achievable and very inexpensive with this phone. So for this fact alone I am very grateful to have this phone. Which is an aspect that most people would not want the phone for.
Apart from that, the standard send text and make calls is just fine, as it always has been fine with most phones since they were made. Which is really what a phone is for, but as of late, there are a few other reasons to own a phone that a phone couldn't achieve 10 years ago. Happy with this phone, if I have problems with it in the future, I'll simply upgrade.
I don't see how a general civilian can rate hardware and software out of five because we don't know what the hardware is made of or how it's made. Neither do we know what the software, how the software was written. We're just basing our vote on experience which is not really relative to the reality of the composition of the hardware and software. So I just gave it four out of five and five for functionality
I do believe the product is good, I was very surprised at how long I had to wait to get this product. And no I was not given an opportunity at the end to pick specific delivery. The phone itself looks and feels lovely in my hands. And I would have no hesitation buying from this seller if they could improve their delivery service 8 days is way to long. Show details
Loved the service from Phone Bot. I live in regional NSW and needed to get a phone ASAP and they sent it ASAP. Love the phone and it's working great. Congrats to the Phonebot team. Well worth checking them out!! Thankyou

Don't by Pixel 7 pro – DONT BUY A Pixel 7 PRO Phone. The worst mob phone I've ever bought over decades of using mob phones. Been in '"repair"warranty thru OPTUS... overheating battery dying very quickly needs charging 3 to 4 times in 12 hours, stops and cuts out many times while using it...... It's now not even a year old. Terrible waste of $$$$s Show details
The Worst Android Out There – I'm frustrated with my Google Pixel 7 Pro because I keep getting pressured to purchase an online storage plan. Even though I have plenty of space available on my device, Google restricts me from… Read more
utilizing it.
Additionally, I'm facing the challenge of trying to recover some deleted photos, and Google's limitations are making it difficult for me to retrieve them using my phone's storage. Instead, it tries to utilize the free 15GB storage, which is inadequate for my needs.
Comparing my experience with other brands like Apple and Samsung, I never felt pressured to buy their cloud storage services. It's disappointing that despite investing in a high-end Google Pixel device, it falls short in various aspects, such as lacking support for features like Screenshare to Samsung TVs and missing out on customization options like app cloning and home screen customization.
I believe Google should prioritize improving user experience rather than focusing solely on monetization. They have the potential to develop excellent software and features, but they need to address these unnecessary hurdles they're imposing on consumers.
That is why Google should be the one getting sued by the US and Europe, instead of an innocent and innovative company like Apple.
Worst Android Smartphone for there to be – I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro, and I am constantly getting forced to buy an online storage plan. storage. I have more than 100GB available on my device, but google won't let me use my phone storage.
Also, I am trying to recover photos which somehow got deleted. I don't want to lose those photos, but I am going to lose them beciase of google. Google doesn't let me recover them using phone storage, it tries to use the free 15GB cloud storage provided by Google.
Google should be the one getting sued, not Apple. As a previous iPhone user, Apple never tried to force me to buy their cloud storage. Samsung also never forced me to buy cloud storage.
I bought the maxed out Google Pixel, hoping it would be good, but its the worst Android phone out there.
It also doesn't support Screenshare to Samsung TVs which even other low end Android phones and iPhones have.
Google Pixel is also missing out on many other features, like being able to clone apps, customising homescreen and layout, and all that jazz.
Google should really change the game, they are capable of making good software and features, but are creating unnecessary problems for consumers. They are to greedy for money, and should get a hefty fine so they can go in the right path.
That is why Google should be the one getting sued by the US and Europe, instead of an innocent and innovative company like Apple.
Worst "flagship" I've ever owned! – Worst "flagship" Android I've ever owned. Regular app hangs, very average battery life and NFC regularly fails at the worst possible time and needs a hard reset. Considering this is supposed to be the purest Google phone, it's extremely disappointing. I've had it for a year, it's always updated/patched on time but I'm done with it. Show details
Do not buy a Google phone – Worst phone I've ever owned. I am a long time android user but first time google handset user. And like many other users report, the battery life is rediculously poor. Phone started experiencing issues in… Read more
1st month. Things continued to go wrong. After multiple consultations with Google support, over the next 4 months, they agreed it was faulty. I will never, ever buy another Google product. Their 'support' has been useless, so much so that I think I'm actually communicating with a bot desguised as a 'support agent'. Despite them saying they can't fix the latest errors they only want to give me a refurbished handset as a replacement. They're trying to tell me a refurbished handset has been through rigorous quality checks and is just like a brand new one. They fail to mention that I paid full price for a new handset and they expect its fine to just get a cheaper handset that was once faulty as a replacement.
First and last Google phone – Since new the 5x zoom on the camera won't focus. And the AI makes alot of the photos very muddy looking. Yes the ringer is on and volume is up. Over heats as soon as the sun… Read more
is on it. I was so disappointed in this phone after seeing all the good reviews. I won't be buying a Google phone again.
Worst UI starting from positioning of volume button – My first and foremost reason to purchase Google pixel is the use of Map. Unfortunately, the map is greatly failing to give me the best route. Recently, the gps direction is failing big time because only the title instruction is present. Even the highways are shown as a very thin line as if I am driving in a gravel road out of nowhere. The Camera… Read more
feature magic erase functionality is a good addition, however it is lacking directors mode video like we have in Samsung S22+. The UI for volume button is one of the biggest flaws in the phone largely because, if you are to connect a phone to click type stand in the car, then the volume drops down to zero or full volume. Also the volume button usability is not well thought for single hand usage, where you cannot use index finger, instead middle finer or ring finger must be used. And the latest problem is YouTube app not working
Buyer beware - worst phone ever – Upgraded (if you can call it that) from my Samsung S10 (that's right - S10). Battery life on my S10 was twice as much as the Pixel Pro 7. me refurbished phone with out telling me about this. After days, hours on the phone and so many emails no one was able to help me! Even after they received the faulty phone I'm waiting 3 weeks to get my money back! The google customer service just putting me on hold and the end will say we don't have any authorization to check the process and someone will contact you 24 to 48 hours. Tried to contact google her in Australia it is 1030am and apparently their support offices are closed. There's apps missing features and issues with app notifications where I've had to turn notifications off due to it only having ring tones listed instead of beeps and vibrations. I had a pixel 6 pro before this and have regretted changing ever since. Im returning this phone back to the store and getting something else. Thats sums upp my review it should be renamed the.
