Green Air

Firstly, this review is in no way about the electrician who attended. He was polite and on time. The review is about the additional charges I wasn't informed about. I advertised a job on HiPages and they attended to quote the job. I was given a verbal quote but never received the formal quote as I was told I would. Since they were already there, I asked how much it would cost to install a second light fitting in the attic, and was quoted $120. I already had a light fitted there, but I just wanted a little more. I gave my ok to proceed, and even supplied the new bayonet fitting but didn't ask for a reduction in the price. While they were there, I asked if they could reposition the current one to the other side of the post to spread light more evenly. I was told that would be fine. I then received an invoice for $176. I questioned this as I was quoted only $120. The response was that the additional charge was for removing the existing light and the extra cable needed. New cable was already being run the entire length from the switch, and the light fitting was literally only moved 40 centimetres further along the path. The same amount of cable would've been used regardless of where the light was situated on that path. The fitting would've needed to be removed regardless in order to run the cable for the additional light, so I was literally being charged $40 to screw it on the other side of the post. On top of that, it was repositioned in a worse location that now leaves half the attic in darkness. Very disappointing and bad service and I wouldn't recommend this company based upon my personal experience.
